The restored facade, bearing the marks of war, strikes a peculiar balance—neither entirely new nor completely old—hinting at the nature of the exhibitions within. 🌿 Depth of the Exhibition Space Created by Stone, Light, and Emptiness Inside, the atmosphere is much calmer and more restrained than expected. Instead of ornate decorations, the stone columns, high ceilings, and structures allowing natural light to seep in draw attention first. Ancient Egyptian artifacts are placed among these elements, making each exhibit stand out more vividly. Hieroglyphs adorn the walls, and as you move between exhibition rooms, the transition of eras and spaces feels seamless. 🌉 Time Stands Still Around the Bust of Nefertiti The most iconic piece of the Egyptian Museum is undoubtedly the Bust of Nefertiti. Placed alone in the center of a dimly lit exhibition room, the bust shines even more brightly in the surrounding silence. #europetrip If you’re in Germany, you have to try a proper pork knuckle — and this popular Berlin restaurant didn’t disappoint! It’s a well-known spot on Xiaohongshu, and the location is super central, perfect to visit right after a city walk or shopping trip. We went without a reservation, and it was still easy to get a seat. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere and food were both excellent, and at just around €30 per person, it’s amazing value! ⸻ ✔️ Haxe – ganze (Crispy Roasted Pork Knuckle) You can choose a half or full portion depending on your appetite. Cut it open while it’s still hot — the skin is perfectly crispy and crackly. Even someone like me who usually avoids fatty parts couldn’t stop praising how good the crispy skin was! Pair it with sauerkraut for a refreshing, balanced bite. This is my 8th trip to Berlin, so I've already visited many of the famous cafes. This time, I decided to explore and stumbled upon a bustling cafe called Zwipf Coffee. While it may not be a well-known spot among tourists, it turned out to be an excellent find. I ordered a cafe latte and a ham and cheese croissant, which cost me 9.70 euros. If you ask for the croissant to be grilled, you can enjoy the warm, gooey cheese that enhances its flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the visit even more pleasant. They even asked if I preferred a flower or a heart for the latte art. I chose a flower, and a beautiful tulip bloomed on my coffee. The ham and cheese croissant was so delicious that I devoured it in just a minute! Zwipf Coffee is especially delightful in autumn. Sitting by the window or on the terrace, you can enjoy the view of golden maple trees. Although it's early October, Berlin's weather feels like early winter, exuding the atmosphere of late autumn. The cafe also offers free Wi-Fi, and sipping a warm, nutty latte while gazing at the autumn leaves outside the window is a truly relaxing experience. In mid-June, I set out on a trip that felt like a true food-and-exploration tour across Europe — from Paris to Amsterdam and Berlin. ✨ Amsterdam • Traveled by Eurostar train from Paris (Gare du Nord) to Amsterdam Central in just about 2.5–3 hours. Super convenient and comfortable. • Bought a metro pass and stayed near Rokin, which was very central and easy to explore. • Must-try food: Fabel Friet fries with parmesan and truffle — crispy and packed with flavor. • Visited Pantopia Bakery, which felt like a pastry exhibition — creative and absolutely delicious, though drinks were average. • Dinner at a famous pizza place (likely La Perla) — tasty but the wait was a bit long. • Tried chewy Van Stapele chocolate cookies — rich and indulgent. • A hidden gem: Chun Bulgogi Sandwich (Korean spot) — one of the best things I ate in Amsterdam, highly recommended! 🚌 Travel: Took a FlixBus overnight from Amsterdam to Berlin (~8 hours). Saved a night of hotel cost, arriving around 6 AM. ✨ Berlin • Started the day at Alexanderplatz, classic city vibe. • Ate Currywurst (decent, but not my favorite) and grabbed a Starbucks for a quick break. • Special highlight: visited Dong Xuan Center (Berlin’s Vietnamese hub) and enjoyed authentic bánh cuốn — felt like home. • Next day tried a doner kebab — surprisingly not as good as expected. • Important tip: Berlin still runs a lot on cash. #AdventureMoment While traveling in Berlin, I wanted to truly experience the local atmosphere, so I visited this buffet restaurant! The simple yet warm atmosphere was immediately apparent from the entrance, and since most of the customers were locals, it felt like a place frequented by locals rather than tourists. 😊. The menu was incredibly diverse, with everything from traditional German dishes to salads and various meat dishes. The sausage and potato dishes, in particular, were classic yet still retained their authentic flavors. 🥔🌭. The fresh salads and soups were refreshing and easy to enjoy, and the small cakes in the dessert corner were the perfect sweet way to end the meal. 🍰. The prices were reasonable, yet the portions were generous, making it a great value!
