Fundy National Park Dickson Falls: The Moss Gorge Nobody Queues For (Unlike the Tides)
#easytravelpost Fundy NP, Alma NB. Dickson Falls trail is 1.5 km loop from the HQ road, 100 m gain, 45 min—boardwalked lower gorge, then rooted forest path back. The moss hangs off the black spruce like velvet curtains; the falls are a 10 m veil into a green slot.
I did it at 7 AM before the Hopewell Rocks day-trippers flooded Alma. Park entry $9/day. The real play: time Dickson Falls for after a rain (moss glows), then drive 20 min to Alma Beach for low tide at 11 AM—Fundy’s 12 m tide exposes 3 km of seafloor. Pack lunch: Alma’s fish shack takes card for scallop burger ($16), but the trail has no vendor.
Mistake: I wore sneakers after a storm—boardwalk algae slick, slipped on the root section. Now it’s lug soles even for a “short” loop. Another: the fog rolls in off the bay by noon; mornings only for photos.
Discussion Point: Everyone drives to Fundy for the tides—does the mossy gorge at 7 AM end up the better memory, or just the consolation prize?

Tides and Tranquility at Fundy National Park
#canadatrip
My trip to Fundy National Park in New Brunswick was a breathtaking escape into nature’s raw beauty. Famous for having the highest tides in the world, the park offers a constantly changing landscape shaped by the powerful Bay of Fundy. Watching the dramatic rise and fall of the tides was mesmerizing, revealing ocean floors and hidden rock formations within hours.
The hiking trails were a true highlight. From peaceful forest paths to scenic coastal lookouts, every step offered fresh air and stunning views. Dickson Falls was especially magical, with its cascading water surrounded by lush greenery. Wildlife sightings added excitement, as I spotted birds and small forest creatures along the way.
The combination of rugged coastline, dense forests, and tranquil lakes creates a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. Whether camping under the stars or simply enjoying the ocean breeze, Fundy National Park provides an unforgettable connection to nature’s power and serenity.

Fundy National Park Of Canada
#canadatrip Very large a park, a lot of trails. To be exact 116 trails, according to Alltrails. We just did a detour on our way from Moncton to Saint John, added about 100km to our original trip. Spent a couple of hours there, just picked up a few spots from the park map to visit. A beautiful park.
Such a varied park. Waterfalls, beaches, forests, and massive tides. The red chairs are perfect for chilling and instagramming. There are plenty of trails to enjoy quiet walks, and there are myriad places to just sit and enjoy nature. Lovely place for a visit.
