- This is a must-see! I went to Dalian with my best friend and stayed at the Dalian Yidong Hotel. It was amazing! I would call it a "photo paradise" + "thoughtful service ceiling". I can't believe there are still people who don't know about it! 🚪 Stepping into the lobby is like falling into a dreamy space of art. The warm lighting is soft and gentle, and the soft furnishings are very stylish. You can take a picture anywhere and it will look great. They also gave us postcards of Dalian and introduced us to nearby attractions and planned a route for us. I was very impressed! 🛏 The room was decorated in a way that really appealed to me and my best friend. The minimalist decor was clean and cozy, and the lighting was great. The sunlight came through the window and onto the bed, creating a lazy atmosphere! The little ornaments in the room were delicate and cute, and we went crazy taking pictures. Every corner was photogenic. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and we fell asleep as soon as we lay down after a long day. 📸 The hotel's public areas are also great for taking pictures. The art paintings in the corridors and the spiral staircase are perfect for fashion shoots. There's also a coffee bar! Coffee and snacks are free! The hotel also has a gym, a chess room, a hair salon, and a children's playroom! They also offer free laundry service! 🍽 The restaurant is also very nice. The breakfast is varied, the freshly cooked food smells delicious, and the fresh fruit is sweet. The only manor-style resort hotel in Singapore I have a standard for choosing hotels, which is 'old building, new hotel'. An example is Capella Singapore. The hotel integrates the main building, a colonial-style building from the 1880s in Tanah Merah, with a new wing designed by renowned architect Sir Norman Foster. The white building is the old building from the last century, and the curved new building is connected to it. I truly admire the skills of the architect. Capella is located in Sentosa, the only resort area in Singapore. When we arrived at the hotel, my child exclaimed 'Wow' upon seeing a peacock, and one even spread its feathers for him. The happiness of children is so simple. My feeling about staying at Capella Singapore is like traveling through a historical time machine. The new and the old, the curves and the straight lines, even the East and the West, all collide intensely here, yet everything is so harmonious. I personally prefer the old building, which consists of two colonial-style buildings from the 1880s in Tanah Merah (Malay for 'Red Earth'). The extensive use of the most inclusive white color, paired with the reddish-brown roof, is particularly elegant. The second floor of this building is the Capella Living Room. All guests can enter, and there is afternoon tea every day. Another part of the old building I like is the corridor. The lattice doors and shutters instantly bring out the Nanyang style and a retro feel. The old building has a kind of magic, putting a leisurely atmosphere into ancient times and pulling people back to the past. The new building is relatively modern. All rooms except the villas are in the new building, ensuring comfort. The corridor has a different style, with the old building as one of its views. The pool faces the dense forest, giving a Bali-like feeling, but unfortunately, the weather was not good during my stay. Rooms Capella mainly has four types of rooms: guest rooms, suites, villas, and manors. For families with children, I recommend going straight for the villa. Out of 112 rooms, 38 are villas, while there are only 11 suites, so they are often sold at the same price. The large living room, large bedroom, and bathrooms are divided into indoor and outdoor areas, with a separate bathtub and shower outside. The highlight is a small pool (soaking pool), where my child had a great time just in the room. The welcome fruits and desserts were also very generous. A new gelato bar has opened up in one-north business park, just an escalator away from the MRT station! GelatiAmo is helmed by Chef Loris Massimini of @ristorantepietrasanta, an Italian restaurant within the same compound. 🇮🇹 The space follows a Mediterranean theme in turquoise with stylish terrazzo tables and rattan chairs. Chef Loris churns the gelato from scratch daily using a special combi machine from Italy, all made with premium natural ingredients. The flavour selections feature the classics like 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗹 and 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲, but there are funky ones like 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼, which is a specialty inspired by the cheesecake back in the restaurant. On top of that, there’s a whole area dedicated for their open display where they present their pastries. Kinda reminds us of the cafés in Korea like Nudake. We tried their outlet-exclusive 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗰 & 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲. Honestly, we aren’t big fans of it.. The dish felt mushy and there wasn’t an 𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘩 factor to it. The cheese pull is great though! 🧀 On the other hand, the 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿 is pretty decent! 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱'𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘄 is a hidden Harry Potter-inspired dessert bar in Chinatown that serves up flashy cocktails that comes with an enchanting show! 🪄 Head upstairs, look for an ominous-looking black door and be instantly transported into a world full of sorcery and witchcraft. They definitely nailed the look with familiar sights from the movies, such as floating candles, flying books and snake sculptures. Not just the design, you can expect to see a bunch of interesting items on their menu that takes inspiration from the books. 🕯️ We had the 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁 which is a strawberry shortcake served as a Mandrake’s nest just like how it was in Professor Sprout’s Herbology class. The Mandrake is made out of chocolate and entirely edible! 🌱 There’s also the 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 which looks like the scene in Goblet of Fire, where the team found a way to cast out flames and sparks right in front of you. All in all, if you’re looking to try out something outworldly, this place is definitely worth a visit. 🔥

McDonald’s has just launched their all-new Lychee Oolong Frappé, and we went down to one of McDonald’s oldest outlet in Singapore to try it! 😍 When we first heard about the Lychee Oolong Frappé, it sounded like a bubble tea-inspired drink. It looks different from what we expected, kinda like their usual chocolate frappés. The taste was special though, with rich, fruity flavours and a distinctive lychee sweetness. There’s also hints of roasted Oolong tea in the drink that gives it a slight nutty flavour. It’s refreshing as well, great to have in Singapore’s hot weather. Starting from 27 April, this new drink will be available at all McDonald’s outlet across the country for a limited time only. As for Ridout Tea Garden, it was first opened back in 1989,which was formerly known as Queenstown Japanese Garden. The outlet occupies a single-storey pavilion that has an outdoor landscape that is inspired by the Japanese zen gardens. It has a pond that guests can take a stroll across on a bridge, which is full of terrapins. We remember how back in our childhood, families would release their pet terrapins into this pond when it grew too big, and now it’s a whole ecosystem!
