On weekends, I took my parents to Zhenjiang to travel and stayed at the Shuxiang Mansion Hotel. This hotel is located in Xijindu, the historical ancient street of Zhenjiang, very close to the famous ”three mountains” (Jinshan, Jiaoshan, Beigushan), and it is very convenient to travel. The rooms of the Shuxiang Mansion Hotel are distributed in Bao's Qianzhuang and Yuntai Building built during the Republic of China. Mr. Sun Yat-sen has stayed and lectured here, with a rich historical and cultural heritage. The room facilities are high-end and exquisite, antique, just in line with parents' wishes. The four of us lived in two rooms and one living room on the ground floor of Bao's Qianzhuang. The entrance was a patio, ventilated and breathable, and it was easy to light. The layout of the hall is like a study, and the four treasures of the study are all available. Dad put down his luggage and put on the paper. The front desk of the hotel was very intimate and said that you can borrow Hanfu for free. My mother was very happy. I immediately borrowed a set of Hanfu and took pictures in an elegant environment. His breakfast is a set meal for one person (one person, one bowl of pot noodles + a crab powder cage, a fresh meat cage, a vegetable bag, a braised egg and meat, noodles and small cage are all cooked and steamed) + semi-self-service form, fruit, salad, bread coffee, small pickles, millet porridge. It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed here, and I finally came to Biyu Garden again during the May Day holiday. Wander in the beautiful gardens in the hotel, take a walk in Nanshan every day to breathe in oxygen and feel the fragrance of various plants. Wake up to the chirping of birds for breakfast, and the green mountain scenery outside the window is refreshing! I saw that the lights in the hotel restaurant were also changed, but luckily it maintained the original style and elegance. The outer wall of the conference building has also been replaced, but unfortunately the wall-crawlers are gone.

Zhenjiang is my father's hometown. I once passed by on a business trip in the late 1990s. I remember that time I only visited Jinshan Temple. So this time I came to Zhenjiang after retirement. I read the Zhenjiang travel guide on Xiaohongshu, which recommended staying in hotels in the Xijindu area. So I searched on Ctrip and found that there were many hotels with good locations in Xijindu, and it was almost difficult to choose. After comprehensive consideration, I chose Shuxiang Xinbo Hotel. Among the hotels with a rating of 4.5 or above, I prefer the design style of the hotel, which is a combination of traditional and new designs. I was just worried that there would be no parking spaces for self-driving tours (the reviews said that there were few parking spaces at the door), so I contacted the hotel in advance to confirm the parking spaces. They said that there were still parking spaces at the door, and the hotel had another parking lot nearby, so there was no need to worry. Fortunately, we were able to park at the door for the two nights we stayed. Probably because of the off-season, I booked a double bed room, and the hotel upgraded it to a suite for free, with an elevator (the hotel was renovated from an old house in the Republic of China, and the building is about 4 or 5 floors high). The suite has a living room + cloakroom + standard king-size bed room. The space is relatively large and clean. The 2-meter-wide bed has good bedding, soft and comfortable, very nice. In addition to the standard toiletries, the bathroom is also equipped with a bathtub film. This is the only one we have seen in the multiple hotels we have stayed in since we drove all the way from Guangzhou. For this reason, this is also the only time we dare to take a bath in the bathtub in the hotel to relieve fatigue. The plastic slippers in the room need to be called to the front desk (this is the experience gained from this self-driving tour). The little robot will send the slippers up and will notify by phone. It is silent when walking and does not disturb people. It is very cute. Looking at the comments, there are criticisms about the electric control switch in the room. Sure enough, the design of the electric control switch is too alternative and niche, and the operation is not intuitive. You can only grope for the buttons. It feels that it is not suitable for hotel use, especially for the elderly. However, the switch is a small flaw and has little impact. Overall, the hotel experience is still very good and cost-effective.

The hotel is in a good location, just across the road from Nanshan Park. The room is spacious, well designed, with dry and wet areas separated, so family members can use it without affecting each other. The sanitary conditions are good, the facilities are relatively new, and the service is relatively proactive and attentive.

This is our first time to Zhenjiang. This hotel is within 10 minutes taxi ride from Zhenjiang railway station. On 27 Dec 2023, we arrived late at night and all the shops nearby the hotel have already closed. So, no dinner. The reception staff, Fang Rong and 张师傅, took good care of us by offering snacks and carried our luggage into the room. The hotel’s location and environment are fantastic! It is located at Xijindu ancient street where you can stroll along the ancient street. The museum and old British consulate are within walking distance from the hotel, through the ancient street, past a 观音 cave. Another tourist spot, Jinshan 金山 is also within 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel’s breakfast is delicious and good value for money. The hotel’s room is very clean, very comfortable and very nice. The hotel’s staff Steven is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Upon check out, we got a small trinket as souvenir. I had a pleasant stay and will definitely choose this hotel again. Thank you all for the outstanding service and warm hospitality during our stay.

I slept until 10am and thought I missed the hotel breakfast, so I called the front desk. I didn't expect that breakfast could be delivered to the room at 10:30! So thoughtful! The facilities in the room are complete and the bath water pressure is sufficient. Shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer and disposable toothbrushes are also prepared. The hotel also has a laundry room with a garment ironing machine, which is very convenient. There is a lounge chair in the room and a bed with four pillows. The quilt is large and soft and very comfortable. Highly recommended!
