Ystad Saltsjobad Hotel

Worst service experience from their reception/booking. Never experienced anything like it!!! Have emailed back and forth and their employee Donat offers a date which I accept. Then another employee Emma G. writes 2 days later and says the date is taken anyway. It is such a poor and tiring experience!!!

It is a wonderful hotel with prices that are very reasonable to a Dane. The spa area is outstanding, and it's great to be a heated pool outdoors in the cold. Likewise Ystad Saltsjöbad was the setting for me and my wife's first attempt at winter bathing - because there is so easy access to saunas and heated pools after going in the water. The rooms are small because the place is designed for guests to use its facilities, but the bed was great, and we slept well. The breakfast was truly outstanding with lots of freshly made dishes, excellent shakshuka, eggs benedict and very good bread. And the relaxation area with beds and sea views is wonderful.

I recently faced a highly disappointing experience with [Resort Name]. I had paid 3,000 for a trip to their resort, but due to unforeseen circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to travel. Additionally, I fell ill with COVID-19, which significantly impacted my health and delayed any travel plans further. When I contacted the resort's customer service to discuss my situation, I requested a mere six-month extension on my voucher, considering the exceptional global health crisis. Astonishingly, their response was a flat refusal. Despite my willingness to visit during off-peak times and the voucher being just two months past its expiration, they showed no flexibility or understanding. This rigid stance from the resort feels like a blatant exploitation of the situation, where they are happy to take my money without delivering any service in return. It's disheartening to see such a lack of empathy and customer support, especially during such challenging times. I must advise others to reconsider investing their money in this place, given the resort's apparent disregard for customer circumstances and well-being.

This hotel is an absolute gem! There is free parking! They had a very nice and charming room! The pool area was magnificent. There were so many games like pool (etc). There was an amazing beach right next to the hotel! Finally a very pleasant man, gave my son a bag of candy! Thank you to the management and I appreciate the wonderful trip!

Just back after 10 years and what a pleasant experience. Hotel has been upgraded/renovated and is totally hip like Ellery’s (another hotel in the ESS group). New lounge restaurant where you can eat the best Asian food in your robe in beautiful beds. The Ystad Beach promenade is also upgraded and a great pleasure to walk with its great beaches and colourful small beach houses and mansion.

I stayed at your hotel for a night, I had a pleasant stay, especially one of your workers, his name was pontius, he was really professional, sweet and had a great personality! Pontius made our stay very memorable. So thanks for the hospitality and incredible treatment:)

I received a weekend stay for my birthday and was so excited to visit the hotel but man was I disappointed. It was a package deal where spa and dinner were included. From the beginning the reception gave us wrong information on when our spa treatments and dinner were booked. Spa was not happy we arrived late, wasn’t our fault reception gave us wrong time, so my husband’s treatment didn’t happen m. Thankfully we checked on the dinner before we went and they managed to squeeze us in, again because the time reception gave us was wrong. It was all a mess. The spa in the evening turned into a party zone. Fair enough we thought could be fun, however there were at least 100 people more than what the swimming pools and jacuzzis could hold so we had no space to sit anywhere. It was a meat market. The room was ok, unfortunately ours was located in the corridor next to the spa so everyone was passing by and being so loud. It was impossible to relax. The only positive experience was the restaurant Porto with fantastic food and service. Overall it is an average overpriced place. Shame it has a lot of potential but one thing is for sure it’s not a spa. More of your average recreation place with a swimming pool and tiny jacuzzi.

Comfortable Accommodations: The rooms at Saltsjöbad Ystad were spacious, well-appointed, and exuded a cozy Scandinavian charm. The attention to detail, including amenities like a hairdryer and iron, ensured a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Conference Facilities: The conference facilities were top-notch, equipped with modern technology and comfortable seating. Our event ran smoothly, thanks to the professional and accommodating staff. Exceptional Dining: The dining experience at the hotel was a culinary delight. We were treated to a variety of delicious dishes, with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, offering a wide selection to suit all tastes. Relaxation and Wellness: In our downtime, we had the opportunity to unwind at the spa and wellness center. The relaxation pool and saunas provided a perfect way to de-stress after a day of meetings. Scenic Surroundings: Beyond the conference, the hotel's location offered ample opportunities for exploration. The coastal promenade, nearby nature reserves, and the charming town of Ystad were all easily accessible. Overall, Saltsjöbad Ystad provided an unforgettable backdrop for our conference. The combination of a serene coastal setting, comfortable accommodations, excellent dining, and attentive staff made this retreat a standout choice for both business and leisure. I look forward to the opportunity to return.

We stayed overnight and were really impressed by the friendly greeting at reception, Lovisa and ben especially were very personable and professional. The spa itself is very good but not quite as impressive as the Skansen Spa in Bastad, but still equally as relaxing. I did notice that the water filtration was not particularly good on the long-spanning indoor pool, in addition, we felt that the spa itself really did not take advantage of the wonderful beach-side view/scenery, from most of the pools and hot-tubs it was actually impossible to see the sea, which was quite disappointing. Relocating some of the hot-tubs to a higher view-point would have solved this. The room (317) was small but cosy and quaint, quite classic in design and presentation, unfortunately during the night the room was a little noisy, the doors were very thin and not at all sound-proofed, in addition the room suffered badly from creaky ceilings, next time we would try our best for a top-floor room instead. In addition, there was a wedding during the weekend on which we stayed, the noise in the night from the wedding was audible from the room, slightly disappointingly, but nowhere near as badly as other less-classy venues in which we have stayed. During the weekend, we dined for lunch and dinner, on all occasions the food was excellent and provided with a good selection of drinks to accompany. We enjoyed that the spa/hotel had lots of little areas for relaxing, chilling, reading, even playing a little table-tennis and pool, it didn't just feel like a hotel, but a home-from-home. Despite visiting in February, the outdoor areas were incredibly pleasant and relaxing, we will definitely return in summer!
