The hotel is changing to apartments and asked those that wanted to switch from hotel guests to leasing apartments to fill out an application. After do that, the hotel gave notice of eviction (7 days) to most of the residences. These people have been there for over one month and are being threatened illegally with eviction. People's civil rights are violated, and this company is being sued at other locations.

It is almost midnight and we are currently staying here and cannot sleep because of all of the noise in the room above us. It sounds like they are bowling, along with their pit bull. The front desk does not answer the phone, and the main Sonesta main number says there is nothing they can do. This is our 4th night of enduring this nightmare. Do NOT stay here under any circumstances. Plus, there is NO housekeeping and NO breakfast. What a disastrous trip for us and anyone staying here. The towels are pathetic. There is one fork and two spoons. Horrible.

Unfortunately did not read the previous review. Upon arrival informed they are basically apartments now. No breakfast though website says they do. Kitchen ware very lacking and staff only available 9-5 so if you decide to stay here check to make sure you have all you need. We had to go to the local Target for some necessities like coffee, dish detergent, paper towels, napkins, hair conditioner. Even the extra bed linens were missing. Not at all what we expected.

The entire facility was dirty. The Grounds sidewalks, plus we even arrived at night and could see it was filthy. Going up the stairs to our efficiency the stair treads were loose. Once inside the room the sofa was filthy as well as the carpet. The smell of old cigarettes in the room even though their was signs everywhere about a fine if you smoke inside. The free breakfast was apples, bananas, pop tarts, nutrition grains bar and coffee. Plus we asked about ice and they said that the refrigerator had an ice maker but when we went to our room ours was broken !

Please choose a different hotel. I did not feel safe at this hotel and I was told it was transitioning to section 8 housing. The courtyard was strewn with children’s toys and garbage. While the room was clean it did not have towels. It also only had a bottom sheet on the bed that I didn’t discover until I returned at 10::00pm. The office was closed and no one from the hotel was on the property to help. Thankfully I had some blankets in my car. The residents were up until the wee hours with constant commotion and noise outside. The only positive was the air conditioner which worked well to mask some of the outside noise. I shared my experience with the hotel staff when they returned the next morning and they apologized for no bedding. That’s it. Please go somewhere.

Upon checking in, was given keys to a room that was already occupied & walked in on someone. Went back for keys to new room, keys didn’t work. Had to go back a third time to get keys that worked. Finally got into the room after that. Before I list the negatives, I would rate the room itself 4/5 stars. It was quite clean (though a bit worn and dated in some respects), and had a full kitchen. Definitely needs some more utensils and pots and pans. Air conditioning worked wonderfully. Water pressure was decent, hot water sometimes look a long time to come. Toilet would sometimes run. Tub and shower was spotless. There is no hot breakfast, it is “grab and go,” which I didn’t bother with the entire time I was there. Laundry room was filthy and not big enough to serve the entire property. It was often tough for me to get parking right near the building I was staying in. Noise was a bit of an issue for me. The hotel is directly across the street from a fire station, so you here constant sirens. It is also right off of a busy road so you constantly here vehicle and traffic noise. I was woken up one night at 2am by people hanging out outside of their room, drinking and talking loudly. Safety was the biggest concern for me. Some of the people staying there seemed very shady. One of the days I returned to the hotel after being out all day, there were two police cars in the parking lot. I was told they were there to “remove” someone. Didn’t make me feel very safe. The last night I was there, there were two guys in the room next to me standing outside and smoking ****. Lastly, it’s not as close to Chicago as I thought. It took a good 45 mins-hour to drive to downtown, it is about a 33 mile drive. The area around the hotel is nice, but boring. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

They place was not vacuumed or cleaned very throughly. There’s a oven but no cookware to use it. There was only one coffee mug for the two of us to use. The sponge for dishes was old and grimy. The place is a bit depressing. Many people have moved in here long term so it’s turned into somewhat of a homeless shelter. This place use to be a decent place, sadly it’s poorly managed.

Terrible Terrible Terrible. Although I paid my accommodation to ******* in advance. The hotel took the full amount from my credit card again. When they objected, they said they would apologize and return it. They took the money for the 3rd time on the same day. I will take it to court. If you give your credit card to the hotel, they draw a number according to their heads every day. In addition, the card that opens the room every day is corrupted. the receptionist may get angry and insult you. We are in a terrible nightmare as a family. I can't believe it, it's a big nightmare. He tries to take thousands of usd from your card and make you pay 3 times for an accommodation. 1 glass in each room. It's like there's no lid. we are literally in a nightmare. Don't take your quiet way to lombard sonesta, you'll get into a nightmare.
