Spacious for me. Although a bit old it good conditions. Only issue is thar the aircon it either on or off and it pretty warm so for late autumn and winter it is alright. Breakfast is either Japanese or western and the lounge is cosy. The carpark is a multi storey carpark west of the hotel so to drive past the building and anticlockwise. Good deal when I book it for 1 night. There a family mart right below.

It looked very old hotel. Overall, the entrance and corridor were dark, and the air conditioning had about 5 buttons on the air conditioner, and there were few choices because the room temperature was set from among them, and it was a little cold.
The bed was clean and comfortable. The cleaning was good and there was no dust accumulating in the corner of the room or at the end of the door.

Spacious room, comfortable bed. We had noisy guests in the room next to us, but the staff allowed us to move to a quieter room which was appreciated. The facilities were a bit dated, however the location is excellent.

The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to find food nearby. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with many free amenities, including KOSÉ facial products. The breakfast was also delicious.

There was a convenience store on the first floor and there were plenty of places to eat, which was nice.
The hot springs were also great.
I'll definitely use them again.

Best experience I could get from this place was the owner being a great cook and exceptional with her conversations and mannerisms in sending and welcoming her customers.
Location is wonderful too, as it is quiet yet not far from the main areas to eat and transit in Yamagata. Honestly 1 of a hidden gem.
Only drawback would probably be the hot tub as she is handling it on her own and if there are multiple people living there that night, it can get a little dirty, so I'll keep to using the showers would do.
Love the place so much!

GGuest UserThe staff were very kind, and although our itinerary required frequent transportation, they were happy to provide pick-up and drop-off services many times. They also booked the tickets for the Zao Mountain cable car on our behalf, and also booked the return tickets online for us. Upon departure, a dedicated staff member accompanied us to the station and communicated with the station service center staff in Japanese. They provided delicious breakfast and dinner, and also had a dedicated translator to help us communicate with them. There were so many elaborate and lovely decorations in the hot spring hotel, which created a quiet and calm atmosphere. The soundproofing was also good, and the bed sheets and comforters were very comfortable. Overall, we are very satisfied! This is a must-visit hotel! Thank you for your hospitality! 🫶🏻
LlongdichenClean and tidy, the room is not small, there is a big bath on the 16th floor, the location is also good, convenient for travel, back to the hotel at night, there is piano performance and snacks in the breakfast area, not far from the hotel, the Zhengle Temple, the red maple there is so beautiful, the overall stay experience is very pleasant 👍
MMuse YueThe hotel staff uses a translator to communicate, so verbal communication is no problem, and the arrangements are also very detailed. Meal times and free private bath reservation times are clearly listed on the paper. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Zao Ropeway Station, and we went there first. We went to the hotel after visiting Bingshu Plateau. Due to the heavy snow and heavy luggage, the coffee shop staff called the hotel car to pick us up, which was very nice. It is a nationally certified natural hot spring. It has a large bathhouse and a private hot spring (guests can use it once for free). It is a great experience. It is beautiful to soak in the open-air hot spring and watch the falling snow. But the hot spring floor is slippery and my sister slipped and hit her, so be careful when walking.
NNetotrevinoWoah! This is one of the best ryokans we’ve been to. The staff was super attentive and could speak some English, the rooms were amazing (see the photos!). The onsen in the room was fantastic so there was no need for us to go to the public or private onsen downstairs.
The hotel is located 3 minutes away from the bus station and conveniently situated near everything. We’ve stayed at other ryokans but this one was top notch! We strongly recommend to stay at this place and will try to come back again with friends and family. Oh! The food was wow, too! We had breakfasts and dinners included and the sukiyaki dinner offered Yamagata A5 meat which was to die for. Breakfast was also great!
ZZhongbushenThe room is spacious, the breakfast is good, the hot spring is clean, and the reception area is considerate. The ski drying room is just to the left of the main door. The hotel does not have enough information about skiing... maybe it is mainly for hot spring bathers.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is generally good.
However, there is one thing that annoys me a bit. I chose the meal-included package and saw on other platforms that the meal offered was beef kaiseki. But I still chose to book through the Ctrip platform. The day I arrived, I asked the reception what dinner was and I was told it was pork shabu-shabu. I asked if I could change to beef kaiseki for an additional fee and the front desk told me it was not possible. When I entered the restaurant during the meal, I saw that everyone except our table was eating beef kaiseki.
So, is this discrimination or a platform problem?
GGuest UserI have a wonderful time at Zao Onsen Omiya Ryokan!
The front desk able to speak basic english. I booked a traditional style of futon bed, everything is clean.
Their dinner is strongly recommended! Abit pricy but definitely worth it
HHoIn fact, the overall hotel is not bad, the staff is also nice, and if you are a skier, you will definitely like it. The only drawback is that there is no lift. We live on the second floor, so we have to carry our luggage up, which is a bit hard, but the hotel is not bad. Because we don’t have a car, we have to rely on shuttle buses to get in and out, and they are very helpful. The best thing is the hot spring. It’s really beautiful, but it’s so thin!
AAnonymous UserThere was a little bit of a problem with the pick-up at Zao Onsen Station at the beginning. The operator's English was not very good, but we were finally picked up! Then the hotel is relatively old, but very clean! On the last day when we were about to leave, we asked if we needed to pick up guests at the station, and then they just helped us to pick up at the station, so the round-trip pick-up service was very good!
GGuest UserThere is a hot spring downstairs. Very clean. There is a Yamagata beef restaurant nearby, and you have to queue up, but it is delicious and cost-effective, and there is Lawson downstairs. 24-hour service, very convenient
