The amazing old villa is in superb condition but unfortunately, does not have a bar in which guests can relax and unwind with a drink - yes, you can sit in the beautiful garden and the helpful receptionists will get you a drink, but when we were there the mozzies were deadly, so we ended up taking our gin and tonics into the villa and sitting at the rear of the reception area next to 2 mountain bikes - I thought this was supposed to be a 5 star hotel ? Moan over, our garden room was superb and beautifully furnished - the outdoor pool was gorgeous except for the very naff 1960's fiberglass waterfall feature which really needs to be scrapped ! The Michelin star restaurant was simply the best dining experience we enjoyed in our 3 week trip around Spain - the waitress, Maitre D'Hotel and kitchen staff were all terribly professional and the chef produced some outstanding dishes accompanied by some engaging gastronomic theatre ! It was great lying in bed at night listening to a cacophony of frogs - very sleep educing !

We had a very enjoyable stay in early October. Xerta is a small but picturesque town. The hotel itself is an amazing building set in gorgeous grounds. We had a fantastic meal at the restaurant. I would recommend.

Hotel Villa Retiro has two types of rooms: One type is classic, and the other is modern minimalist. Both are nice, and both are large and comfortable.

Absolutely a lucky find while browsing Orbitz. Old Spanish charm and new, spacious rooms with plenty of amenities. I have paid much more in other hotels for a lot less. Don't miss Hotel Villa Retiro (and don't miss the restaurant while you are here).

Great location and lovely rooms. This Place is great to calm down and perfect „base camp“ to explore the fantastic landscape around. The staff seemed to be a bit uncoordinated from time to time (therefore 4 out of 5). But clear recommondation.

Hotel boutique, muy bien cuidado, y tranquilo. Tiene un jardín espectacular. Zona de piscina con hamacas Ideal para conocer la zona de las tierras del Ebro. Además tiene un restaurante con una estrella Michelin y un sol Repsol

Es un antiguo palacete modernista de 1890, reformado y adecuado como hotel de 9 habitaciones, qué recientemente han ampliado con una construcción anexa de 10 habitaciones tipo “suites”, muy amplias y luminosas, todo ello en un paraje rodeado de un magnífico jardín que te hace disfrutar de este remanso de paz. Además de poder disfrutar de un excelente restaurante con Estrella Michelin.El personal del hotel se merece un 10, hemos estado en muchos hoteles pero como la atención de este ninguno. El único pero es donde se sirve el desayuno que tiene un acceso por medio de una escalera que para personas con movilidad reducida es complicado, así y todo muy recomendable.

Hotel sorprendente, habitaciones rústicas pero con todas las comodidades. Casa de indianos rehabilitada. El restaurante expectacular. Menú gastronómico con maridaje sorprendente. Preciosos jardines. La cena fue ligeraben el hotel muy bien atendidos

Una experiencia bastante mala, llegamos para pasar un par de noches en lo que esperábamos iba a ser un hotel de 5 estrellas y con unas instalaciones y comodidades como tal y nos encontramos con un hotel con un servicio pésimo. El desayuno mas justo imposible, con un pequeño buffet donde a la que te descuidas falta de todo. Servicio muy poco profesional ya que les pides algo y la camarera te atiende de malas maneras y en mayas del decathlon. Tienen un bar en la piscina que para que te sirvan has de llamar a recepción ya que no está ni operativo. Las instalaciones dejan mucho que desear de ser las de un hotel de 5 estrellas y las habitaciones muy justas.
