Convient location. Welcoming, friendly reception. The room was clean with all that was required for my overnight stay. ie tv and internet. Excellent breakfast, set me up for rest of the day.

This hotel is not a place to stay for more than two nights. They do not clean your room and provide replenished supplies. You have to ask every time you need something, tissues toilet paper milk tea coffee clean towels soap. It is an hotel with many rooms but it seems as though there are only four disabled parking places close to the front of the hotel the last couple of nights the two disabled parking spaces were filled by expensive Porsches that did not display blue badges. Seems they think they can do what they like The parking is monitored by parking eye. Be careful as you may end up with a hefty parking charge from ******* like them It gets very noisy at the weekends, ask for ear plugs and they look at you stupid. Generally they could save a fortune by turning the hot water temperature down and using thermostatic mixer taps. The aircraft noise starts between 6am and 7 am. There seems to be a lot of secrecy you have to ask for menu’s then get told where to get it Be a good idea if they had menus in the rooms.food not bad reasonable price but would have liked menu in rooms Interesting caveats you don’t get a refund if you have a covid related issue or if Ukraine causes problems but they do not have any protocol’s in place about social distancing. The lifts are a free for all and there are no notices about about who should be in the lift . I think the rated capacity is 10 or 75 kg. I would like to see limits on lift capacity and stopping un related people entering the lifts. Three times I told people I did not want to share the lift but they still piled in so I left. One way to prevent this would be to not have interrupted journeys if you get in on floor 2 and want to go to ground floor do not stop at level 1. They seem to be more concerned with their profits than customer safety or protection. You can get rooms cheaper on other websites than their own checkin Would I be going back? ?? Not 100% sure yet but 99.99% I won’t be returning

I use a wheelchair & my daughter is my carer. So had an accessible room on the ground floor. We also had our dog with us. I have to say that all the staff across the board from top to bottom are so amazing. They are kind, caring, helpful and make time to listen if you need them. The breakfast is always fresh, hot & tasty. The room is always spotlessly clean & the bed is so comfortable. I would recommend this particular hotel to anyone. You are made to feel welcome & respected by every member of staff. Will return in the future, no question about it. A huge thank you to each & every member of the team. You are all amazing. Thank you for make our stay so memorable & wonderful.

I stayed 4 nights as part of a National Coach Holiday trip, with Bed Breakfast and Evening meal included in the package. The location of the hotel and the communal areas cannot be faulted, and all areas were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The big disappointment was being told that we could not get our evening meal until 7.30pm. We had to pre book from a 3 course menu on arrival and subsequently each evening. 7.30 pm was late for a lot of us, being of a mature age! Also service was badly planned as the waiting staff came out and went round the room asking who was having which dish. This not only took a lot of time and also some people forgot what they had pre -ordered. With 3 courses to serve we did not finish until 9pm. This is not the waiting staff's fault, but bad management practice. However on the fourth night, all was chaos. two more coach parties had been booked in and there was mayhem, and a near riot in the dining room with about 160 people trying to get seated. it was after 8pm before service started, again not the fault of the staff. A lady on our table did not get her starter at all. I think she was quite relieved as Bruschetta does not consist of a lump of soggy brown bread, a roughly chopped tomato, some thick slices of onion, and the half dead and wilted salad greens which were served with most meals. No apology from the management. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a good size and were clean, but the bathroom was shabby, chipped bath and basin and a toilet seat that was not very secure. The beverage station did not get replenished until Thursday, and the dirty mugs did not get replaced throughout our stay. The. basin tap broke on Thursday morning, which I reported, but it did not get fixed. Can't fault the staff, but working practice and management leave a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for my fellow travellers, whose friendship and brilliant sense of humour made it all worthwhile. Also thanks to National Coach Holidays and our driver.

Even though the hotel is large and busy, it was a pleasant, relaxing stay. The location is a bit remote if you don't have a car, but the staff arranged good local taxis and directed us to the nearest Metro station.The rooms are good basic standard,the health club and pool are excellent and the bar-lounge has a well-organised bar and lots of TV screens to watch sport, including a nice side area with a big TV screen set up like a mini-cinema.The only moan was the breakfast - the scambled egg was very watery, the fried eggs were oily - the bacon sausages and beans were OK but the potatoes looked unappetising. The croissants and toast were fine, though, and the coffee machine did a good job - can we have a wider variety of fruit next time we come, please? All in all, I would recommend the Village as a pleasant, affordable place to stay with excellent facilities. We'll cetrainly come back when we're passing through Newcastle.

This hotel is very cost-effective, as reflected in: 1. It is about 5 minutes walk from Sunderland train station and bus station. It is in the city center, and it is only 2 minutes walk to the bridges shopping mall. There are also many restaurants in the surrounding area. 2. Since it is a newly built hotel in 2022, the facilities are very new and modern, and the rooms are relatively clean. As a slightly clean freak, I am quite satisfied, but there are some unknown stains on the pillow, so I put on my own pillow cover. The reason for giving the facilities 4 stars is that the sound insulation effect is too poor. People passing by the door can clearly hear their speeches, but it is relatively quiet to sleep at night. 3. There are really not many choices for breakfast, and everyone feels tired of eating the next day. The price is not cheap, so I personally don't recommend eating buffet breakfast in the hotel. 4. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Summary: If you go to Sunderland again in the future, you will definitely consider living here again. Had a lovely stay but felt let down by several issues. Check in was nice & smooth with friendly staff. We had upgraded our room to a superior & it was lovely & clean but had very little storage, especially the bathroom. This wouldn’t have been a problem for 1 night but we stayed 4. The views from the floor to ceiling window were superb. Room servicing appears to have been stopped throughout the country now since covid & if that is to continue then I would suggest larger bins are provided. Surely over a 4 night stay it is not unreasonable to have the room serviced at least once. Our “king size” bed was in fact 2 singles pushed together with the ever present gap in the middle. The toilet paper was cheap & nasty & out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style, adequate & reasonable. The drinks menu said there was a “guest ale” & to enquire at the bar to see what is was & the price. When I asked what the “guest ale” was I was told it was CIDER. Location is no more than a 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Overall we had a vey enjoyable stay & would definitely stop again.

Liked : Went for an overnight visit with my sister. Central Whitley Bay location near to Spanish City. A local supermarket just around the corner. The owner was welcoming with our two little dogs. Room size was good. Heating wasn’t on although there was an oil heater in the room. Had a fridge, a kettle and cups with a few coffee, biscuits and tea. There was an iron and hairdryer which we didn’t use but would be welcome for guests. The room decor was modern but looked a bit unfinished in parts sadly making the overall appearance lacking in care. Tv good size for a family room. 2 single beds and a double would accommodate a family. We didnt try the shower but it looked in relatively new condition. We didn’t try it as it was narrow. Comfy beds. Nice breakfast selection and a freshly cooked poached egg was a nice touch. Disliked : We had some valid safety concerns. The TV cable and plug were worn exposing wires. There was a wooden unit which was a wobbly and shaky and was not attached to the wall. This had a kettle on it and an iron sitting precariously on the top section which could easily fall onto someone’s head causing injury. There was also a very dirty looking ( probable ) soil pipe in the room which was visibly exposed. There were no fire instructions available for guests and no opening windows for fire escape, although we accepted that we were in the ground floor. The shutters on the windows were attractive but as they were not able to be shut on the top levels this meant that light from the cars passing at night were disturbing and kept us awake. There were no curtains to pull across. I suspect in winter this room would also be cold. On Tuesdays most nearby places get a meal and drink were closed. Doubly difficult for folks with dogs. We eventually sat outside a local bar which served meals outside. The meal was delicious but it was very cold to be sitting outside after 6pm. Tynemouth much more dog friendly.
