Grouse Mountain Lodge

I feel we had pretty good value for what I paid (it was the slow season so prices were much lower, luckily). I had done quite a bit of cost comparison to other hotels and such and this place was very competitive in pricing while still having great quality. Really the only reason I did not give it a 5 star is due to some minor cleaning issues in our room (found hair in the shower, chip crumbs in the bathroom and in the dresser drawer). I saw reviews about the hot tub not being hot enough but we did not feel that way when we went in there during our trip! The front desk lady (I forgot to ask her name and to look at her name tag) was SO nice, friendly, and very helpful! The ”bar and grill” is much fancier than what you think a ”bar and grill” to be but for the fanciness and quality of food/service, the pricing seemed pretty fair.
Hampton Inn & Suites Whitefish, MT

I highly recommend the Hampton Inn & Suites located in Whitefish! Great location, easy access and free hot breakfast!! The staff was friendly and very attentive. It is always great to see a courteous and helpful front desk staff, like Diane, who really try their best to please you. The room was cleaned and comfortable. A laundry area, a pool and a quiet computer room are available! The hotel also offers a 24/7 Shuttle service to/from the airport or they can get you anywhere in Whitefish (even if some restaurants are walkable). It takes about 35 minutes (40 km on Highway 2) to get to the Glacier National Park (West entrance). Driving into the scenic “Going-to-the-Sun Road” and Logan Pass are definitively a MUST! (I think the park is open year-round, but park conditions and accessible areas vary by season (always check the weather first). Most businesses & services are only open during Glacier's summer season, running from June through the end of September). See: Directions, Transportation, & Road Conditions - Glacier National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov). Overall a great experience at this Hampton Inn. I’ll definitively stay here again and I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.
TownePlace Suites Whitefish Kalispell

Traveled to visit Glacier National Park and chose this hotel to spend the week. Check in was seamless with Jason Tietema, who continued to provide excellent service throughout our stay. A+ for location, front desk staff: the location is a little over a mile from downtown Whitefish, a 24-hour grocery store within a block, and 30 min outside of Glacier National Park. A+ for amenities: one of the biggest benefits was the list of items the hotel had on hand to borrow, for free. Instead of having to pay money to rent bear spray they had it available every day for us to pickup as we headed into the park. They also had rice cookers, slow cookers, two sizes of blenders, to name a few off the extensive list. C for breakfast: the main breakfast attendant was NOT friendly or approachable. We asked if the blue jelly next to the oatmeal was huckleberry and she shrugged and said ”I don't know” and walked off. On a different day I asked if there was more half and half only to have it grabbed from my hand with a huff, with zero verbal interaction. Definite downer to start the day. D for housekeeping: this is what kept the overall rating from a 5. We requested housekeeping every day. Each day something that needed replaced was missed: paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, kitchen towels. On our last day we returned from a long day in the park to find our room was not touched and we had used all of our bath towels the day before. Rhonda was quick to have a new set of towels sent to us, but housekeeping had left for they day and couldn't provide information on why they missed our room. I understand staffing is tough in that area as the peak season just ended and hope this hotel can find some dedicated personnel to keep. Overall, would definitely visit this property when visiting the area in the future.
Firebrand Hotel

Stayed here for 4 nights. Booked a few months ago, so price was reasonable. The location is as perfect as can be. Whitefish is small, so no matter where you are downtown, you’re just a few blocks from the hotel. The food was very good, not amazing, but certainly tasty. The cocktails and the beautiful roof deck were also nice. True that housekeeping has to be specially arranged, but that’s the way it is these days. We frequently ran into housekeeping staff in the hallway and they always asked if we needed towels, soap, etc. The hotel’s staff is super nice — special praise to Chloe who handled the entire dining room at breakfast all by herself on 2 mornings! The Firebrand is a very comfortable, convenient place to spend a few days in a wonderful small town.
