Excellent hospitality from a super warm family. This place is run by Rani didi who is ably supported by her children and pets. Apart from being an amazing cook, she is a nurse and a surprisingly good vinter of local wines. Stayed in trekker's den which is a small room with private washroom for one. Being in garden I used to wake up with birds chirping around. Sunny days followed by spordaic rains in late afternoon made the place feel like heaven.

Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This home stay stands out for its prime location, making it a perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas and continuing with our trek . What sets it apart even more are the top-notch facilities that cater to every guest's needs. But the true gem of this establishment is its staff.( its a home away home) Always on hand with a smile, they go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. If you're looking for a stay where you're treated more like family than a guest, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

I had a great time at Limboo. The garden is beautiful, the rooms are cheap and the whole family is lovely! I especially liked the the Tongba they offer. The kittens that play around in the common room throughout the day are also a plus.

The Hoemstay has a few cottages around a garden and also a few rooms in the adjoining building. I stayed here for a day before the start of my trek and found the plavce over-priced. Their 3 bed cottages are the best to stay. Single bed cottages can be rather claustrophobic. I found the graden rather unkempt. Could be a good place to stay of you are looking for a homestay, but if you are looking for a quick one night stay before and after your Goechala / Dzongro Treks - there are better, cheaper places in the village.

Limboo homestay in Yuksam, West Sikkim is a wonderful family run place. Great Location ! It is beautifully located, with a view of the mountains and the forests. It has a lovely, well planned and maintained garden with exquisite plants and flowers. The forest and river is just next to the property. We stayed in the cottage - very neat and clean with a beautiful large verandah overlooking the lovely garden. The cottage was cozy, provided with thick blankets. The bathroom is very modern, fully tiled in pleasant colour, with running hot and cold water. The Limboo family is very welcoming and friendly, the older children are excellent birdwatchers too! Very helpful, tended to all our requirements , during the stay. They helped us to plan a perfect itinerary for birdwatching in the forest next to the property , ***** Dubdi monastery road and also a 3 hour trek into the Kanchendzonga National Park. Mrs Rani Limboo provided us with prompt, tasty meals, with much more quantity than we could eat An excellent place to stay in Yuksam, we felt so much like home. We would love to visit again.

Yuksum is the 1st capital of Sikkim and is the gateway to the Goechala Trekking Point through the Kanchenjunga National Park. We reached Yuksum. A small habitat with number of home stays, some shops, hotels and restaurants and a small health centre. This is the place preferred by trekkers for Kanchenjunga base camp than regular tourists. There are some trekking cos. Who make arrangements for trekking against some cost. Our stay was in Limboo homestay. We have been provided with a cottage amidst a beautiful garden, full with different cactus and succulents. Rooms are clean and comfortable with amenities and with attached bath with geyser. It is attached with an attic, which you can climb to by a wooden ladder from inside the room. This is meant for birdwatching or meditation. Normally they provide breakfast and dinner. The Food is mostly Veg but they serve Egg. Lunch and snacks are also available against advance order. And extra payment. The Homestay is located well near the market just in front of the Health Centre. There is a Monastery just round the corner and a lake nearby. You can also find some good resorts near the homestay which are quite reasonably priced. Mr Limboo the homestay owner and his children are very good hosts and catered to all our needs. He and his wife showed us around his farm and introduced us to so many kind of herbs which they told were useful for treatment of ailments. BUT…BE AAWARE of LEECHES…specially during the rains…they are found in abundance and suck the blood out of you…As we were not aware and roamed around we also were attacked by the leeches… The leeches also attach themselves to the dogs in the campus and were also spread by them when the dogs came and rested on the doorsteps…It seems Hand Sanitisers were a good method of killing the Leeches…so please carry a bottle of it when you visit Sikkim in the rains.
