Freshly remodeled duplex on historic Austin Ave. Close to Magnolia, Downtown Waco, Cottonland Castle & Baylor University. The house was built after the 1953 tornado. Before completion the house was elegantly re-designed and finished by Abner McCall for his mother and her guest or caregivers. It took us 2 years to remodel the property. My mother lives in one side and now we offering the guest side for Waco visitors. The property has a large fenced in backyard and a common courtyard (great outdoor space) that is great for hanging out. Easily sleeps 2 couples. Queen bed in one room and KIng in the other. Remodeled kitchen with new modern appliances. All of the furniture is new. The furniture is from a famous Dallas department store. The furniture was used as samples for photo shoots to feature in catalogs and their website (fyi our main job is in furniture wholesale). Cable Televisions in both bedrooms and living room. Wireless internet. GGuest UserI was at teh Evan Hotel during the WACO WORDFEST in 2024-and found their staff positive,professional and pro-active.
The facilities were modern and clean.I especially appreciated the provision of tea and coffee and water in the Lobby.
I would heartily recommend the Evan Hotel to those staying in Waco

GGuest UserWhen we walked in to the lobby the hotel looked very clean but when we got to our room that was not the case. There was blood on the comforter and sheets. We also had a cockroach in our bathroom. Very disappointing. The hotel is in a great location to what we wanted to do.

GGuest UserWow! This hotel was very nice! The room was huge and actually three areas. A front room with little mini kitchen, bath area and bedroom area. Great value! The girl at the front desk was so sweet and friendly. She talked to us about the Magnolia Market and Silos that we had come to see about directions etc. very helpful. It’s only a couple miles away. The breakfast was great as well with hot food items.

This hotel in Waco is not bad, right by the river, facing Waco's first cross-river bridge and herd of cattle sculptures, in a good environment. It is 5 minutes walk to the center of the city, there are many restaurants around and it is convenient to eat.

We couldn’t even stand to get in the water. No ventilation whatsoever! My suggestion would be to make an out for ventilation!

EErica PadgettThe room was dirty, stunk… I smoke but the smell of cigarettes was sooo overpowering! I stayed here for a few months a year or more ago and it was a nice place I don’t know if management has changed but it’s gross now. There was roaches and the bathroom door on the inside was tore up as if someone had a dog locked in it. The lighting was also horrible and my neighbor was outside my room all night people hollering at 3:30 in the morning it’s ridiculous!!

夏夏Overall, it is still close, very close to the high speed, a bit noisy, 5 minutes from the Baylor University campus, do not think that 2.6 kilometers can walk to reach, to walk more than 50 minutes, the key is that the route is not so good, there are many traffic, Still called: uber or lyft software is better, 6.8 dollars can be. The photo is a very small breakfast area, you can make homemade waffles, and the taste is not bad. The last photo except the box of raspberries is the hotel, the breakfast is very simple...
