B&B Santo Stefano
4.7/514 Reviews
Cittadella - Porta Nuova
My husband and I recently stayed three nights at B&B Santo Stefano. We travel often and always search for places to stay that are small, quaint, well located, and have something special about them. I always read every review of a potential place we might stay, and B&B Santo Stefano had all 5 star reviews. It turned out that all the positive reviews were true. This b&b proved to be in a perfect location, just over the other side of the Adige River, away from the more frequented areas of Verona. Our room had two large windows, one that had a great view of the Ponte Pietro Bridge which was just a stones throw away. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well because of that, and also because the windows must be triple glazed with shutters outside that can be closed at night to keep the room dark and very quiet. The breakfasts were very good and served in the room by Luca each morning at the time of our choosing. Luca was a great host. We definitely highly recommend this b&b.

The Relais Fra Lorenzo Verona was the nicest hotel we stayed in on our two week vacation in Italy. The location is wonderful, the scenery is fantastic, and the service was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helped us out with transportation and other reservations. The breakfasts and other meals were well prepared and very delicious. We will definitely stay here again on on next trip. I will happily recommend our friends and family to stay here.

The best place I've been, calm, nature and good food, easy to get to, you can walk nearby, there are wine crops everywhere, beautiful views from above of Verona, clean air, the room has everything you need, your own balcony where you can enjoy the sun and feel Italy!

Great hotel. We stayed here for a week to explore Verona for the second time. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about buses and how to get around the city and beyond. Good choice at breakfast and they even realised it was my husband’s birthday and gave us complimentary glasses of Prosecco. 15 minute walk to the centre of Verona but only a couple of minutes walk from buses directly into the station to get trains and buses to towns along Lake Garda or further afield like Venice. Room was spotlessly clean and very modern. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you.

This is just such a beautiful place, the rooms are so comfortable and every attention to detail has been considered when creating the rooms and suites. Maddalena was so welcoming and could not do enough for us. Serena, who helped at Breakfast was an absolute delight to converse with. We had breakfast on both days on the terrace and spent one evening there too watching the sun go down over the beautiful view. The food was stunning, with lots of home made cakes and delicacies. Thank you to you both for making our time in Verona so very special and memorable.

My party of 4 adults was just passing through the area and this B&B was a good place to stay for one night near Verona city center. Pros: *The nice house is located in a beautiful, calm and quiet hill, not too far from Verona city center. *The property has a nice, well kept garden around the house, where you can see and hear the birds. *Parking is available on the street. (You can park on the opposite side of the street, in front of the property). *The house has a small elevator that is very helpful if traveling with heavy luggage and/or person with mobility limitation). *Room is clean, nicely decorated, and has a spacious wardrobe with a safe. *Bathroom is clean, spacious, and has essential toiletries. *The nice breakfast served is homemade and tasty. *Taxi service from the house to the city center and back is easy, (ask the host for the phone number). The ride takes about 10 minutes and costs around $10 to $15 euros each way. (In the most of the Italian towns, driving in the city center is not allowed or permitted only for locals and parking is far and hard to find. That is why I would recommend to leave the car in front of the house and use the taxi service). *The house does not have a front desk/reception, but house doors and gate have automatic locks with pin numbers that makes it easy to come and go without a problem. *Hosts are nice and helpful. Cons: *House is located in a steep hill. (This can be an issue if traveling with heavy luggage and/or a person with mobility limitations, without a car and not planning to use taxi service). *You need to ring the property gate bell and wait outside for the host to answer. At the time we arrived, there was another party already waiting in front of the property. The owner answered and invited the two parties inside of the gate, but then invited the first party to go inside of the house and asked us to wait outside until he would accommodate the first party. This was not very pleasant since it was a cold, clouded afternoon. I just could not understand the reason for that since after you enter the front door you step inside a type of waiting room with a couch. *The breakfast room is small and breakfast time is very limited (from 9AM to 10AM). *Since breakfast time is very short, all guests get in the breakfast room more or less at the same time. Host try to welcome and explain the menu to everyone, what does not work very well since the room is very small and not easy to move around. Also, during breakfast, she try to give important and helpful facts and info about the hotel, city, history...what is nice...but not very relaxing and kind of inhibiting. *Inside of the house we did not find a space where we could seat all together just to relax and chat. The waiting room in the entrance of the house was the only space we found, but it did not seem very inviting, and also the automatic light in the room would switch off after a few minutes. *The house has many doors and hallways closed w
