Rosselli AX Privilege

This hotel was style over substance. Prosecco and service on arrival. Top end interior design but not practical. The rooms were noisy. Pillows uncomfortable. There was nowhere to get ready - no dressing table or mirror meaning I had to sit on the floor by the wardrobe to dry hair and do make up, using the wardrobe light which kept clicking off. There was no bathroom door and no mirror demisters or extraction fan so the whole room filled with steam and steamed up all the mirrors. Air con solved it but it wasn't warm when we were there so made the room too cold. The toilet light was on a sensor and timer so turned on when you moved anywhere within 3 meters of it then stayed on for ages. Awful in the middle of the night. Pool is tiny and cold and has walls on there sides making it unappealing. Sun terrace is 60% in permanent shade. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was gorgeous. Had a cute little gym but I wouldn't stay again or recommend it. It actually limited the last few days of our holiday because we slept so badly we were too tired.

This is a very attractive hotel in a great location in Valletta. The staff are kind and helpful. It should be perfect but actually the sound proofing is poor, the pillows uncomfortable and the rooms very impracticable laid out, style over usability. Valletta is a great part of Maltaz wonderful restaurants and bars right outside the door and fantastic streets to wander round, right near a truly impressive bat.

Delightful ambience and incredible service from all of Team Rosselli - special mention to Ahmad, Katherine and Cynthia . The accommodation was as its star rating suggested but it’s true to say that the exceptional customer service elevated Rosselli to Outstanding!

Staff were exceptionally good. It’s a pleasant boutique hotel that is only let down by some very peculiar interior design. The room we stayed in was very dark with the strangest lighting configuration I’ve ever come across. Couldn’t see to shave and trying to figure out how to control the lighting was a challenge. Especially after a few beers!!! I missed not having a desk as I tend to work when on holiday (self employed) and would have expected a work station in a room of this size. The shower is over a circular bath, again form over function as the controls are not intuitive and the curtain doesn’t prevent water spilling onto the tile floor. Once wet this is a slip hazard with nothing to hold onto as you exit the shower. I’m reasonably agile so not an issue but if you have any mobility issues this could be a real issue. Finally, if you book try and get a room away from the Main Street. Our room overlooked Merchant Street and there is a noisy bar playing loud music till the early hours. No double glazing so unless you are a heavy sleeper you will need to wait till after midnight to get your head down. In summary we really enjoyed our stay primarily due to the quality of the staff, all of which were very attentive. It’s in a great spot for the city too. We’d stay again but probably in a different room.

Stayed in the sister boutique hotel AX St John.. excellent in every respect. Room big, comfortable and really well designed and decorated. Very comfy bed, great shower. Complimentary water, tea and coffee in room. Restaurant and lobby in Roselli. The team are exceptional. Friendly, informative, and nothing is too much trouble. Super central location right in the middle of everything Valletta has to offer.

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of Valletta so as soon as you walk out of the door you are right amongst, well, everything: history, restaurants, night life it is all there. Our room was lovely, very well presented and equipped with all you could want including in our case a sauna which I became a little bit addicted to. So far so five star boutique hotel. The real thing that set this hotel apart were the staff, they were unfailingly polite, helpful and very competent a great mix that is much harder to pull off than you might imagine. All were very approachable and keen to help, not just the front of house team but the housekeepers as well. This was tested as on our last night my wife fell ill and we had to stay for one more day. The team were great, we stayed in the same room and were charged the same nightly rate as our original booking (made seven months before). I thoroughly recommend this hotel and its very well chosen staff to those wishing to visit the bustling capital of Malta.

Honestly I hate writing this review, but, we were not happy with this hotel at all. Especially for it being a 5 star hotel. We expected so much more from this place. The staff is great but we booked a room with a tub and when we checked in they said they “upgraded” our room. It was a split level and no tub. It was tiny and a pain to go up and down the stairs at night in the dark, I had to turn lights on so I wouldn’t fall and die. Then as soon as we checked in we jumped in the shower because we had been traveling all day and someone just rolled into our room. Luckily I had a robe on. But really?! Like what the hell. Not to mention the NOISE!!! Oh my gosh. I am talking electric guitars playing until midnight right outside our window every night. And then we purposely left the “do not distrub” off of our door so the room could be cleaned and stuff and both nights there was a letter by the door that said they didn’t do the turndown service because of the do not disturb. Which was a lie, It was not on the door. They just didn’t do the turndown service. I was so excited for this hotel for our honeymoon. So dissapointed.

We stayed here for 5 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The bedroom was very spacious and had air conditioning which was good because it was still very warm at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a large choice and available from 7.30 to 10.30. My only criticism is that on one morning I ordered the pancakes, which I had to pay extra for and was very disappointed. They were hard around the edges and I don’t think that they had made them but bought them in.
