Parwa Guest House

This hotel is perfectly situated between the Ollyantaytambo ruins and Pikuylluna. We were very comfortable at Parwa House. It was very clean and the gentleman at the front desk wasvery kind and very helpful. The breakfast in room by the garden was wonderful with fresh bread and fruit. The scrambled eggs were made perfectly. We would wish for less harmless, tiny bugs in our room. They are attracted to the white walls at night and disappear in the day. Also, a window cover in the shower would be a nice option (though all we it looked out to were trees). Small matters. Two of us didn’t know how to use the shower properly and had cold showers that was probably more our own fault 😂 than the hotel’s. Please note, you need to climb about 20 steep steps to get to the entrance off the main road. Backpacks are best to have (as opposed to suitcases). Ollyantaytambo is cobbled stoned, so I imagine almost all hotels are not suitcase friendly.

The staff were like family and very accommodating. I HIGHLY recommend your next stay here. They were very helpful in so many way, that I wanted to stay another night. They kept my belongings secure, and even helped me carry my bag to the train station. Best wishes to the Staff and many fortunes.

Quaint, serene hotel property with stunning views of the countryside--the spectacular Andes Mountains. Efficient, kind staff. Large, spacious rooms in antique buildings. There are lovely llamas on the property eating grass and adding to the ambience. The landscaping was also charming. A little updating of the bathroom windows would be appreciated. The photos of the property look exactly as depicted. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The front desk reception (first class gentlemen) were so efficient and helpful. Thank you!!! The king-sized bed and pillows were comfortable. The hot water in the shower was slow to come on but when it did it was piping hot. Bring your toiletries because you are provided a tiny bar of hand soap and a miniature bottle of shampoo. The breakfasts were fresh and varied daily. If you get to breakfast after 8 am you will be short. The sweet spot seemed to be 7:30 am. I ate two dinners at the restaurant and enjoyed them. Everything was fresh. The wait staff was wonderful. The suite was cleaned daily and I had no complaints. Bring cash with you because using your credit card for cabs/drivers might be difficult. This property embodies the essence and cultural richness of Sacred Valley. I highly recommend this establishment.

Stopped overnight on the way to macchu pichu. Agus calientes is the perfect place to stop en route to agua calientes. This little hotel is right on the middle of the little town. Walking distance to the train station and the buses and the markets nad restaurants. Our room was small, room 203. We had ok wifi - not great. Warm shower water. Room could do with an upgrade. Our room had no view at all- we looked onto a square small area . Had a quick breakfast before we left for macchu pichu in the morning.

I’m a torn on this hotel. On the one hand, the service was fantastic. The staff were extremely helpful and were great to deal with. On the other hand, the photos of the hotel do not match most of the actual rooms at all. The rooms are extremely barebones and there are gaps between the windows and walls that you can see daylight through, the views were non-existent, etc. the door barely locked and could easily be forced, the windows didn’t lock, and it was extremely loud in the room. The photos vs reality is pretty much a bait and switch. I’m not sure if it is still under construction or renovation or what, but the rooms are absolutely nothing like what is depicted in the booking photos. I did walk by some rooms that appeared to be nicer, but the room we were given (and the several I saw next to ours) was not great at all. Additionally, there is no indication on the booking page that you will need to climb 60ish steps up a hill to the hotel. This wasn’t an issue for me but if someone wasn’t aware or unable to make the climb this could be a nasty surprise. We didn’t know this was the case until they sent us an email letting us know the day we arrived. Honestly I’d have given this 1 star if the service wasn’t as good as it was. Looking at other reviews, it appears one other person had our experiences but others didn’t. Perhaps it’s luck of the draw with the rooms but be aware that not all of them match the photos at all. For not much more money you can find other accommodations in the town that are far better.
Amaru Valle Hotel

We are a family of four traveling with 2 young adult children. We spent two nights at the Amaru Valle Hotel in July 2022. What a magical, fairy-tale like place! There are around 30 accomodations in a series of alpine style buildings scattered across the grounds. Ours was perfect - four beds in a spacious room with a view of the mountains and a very nice bathroom. The grounds are lovely with gardens, cobblestones, and views of the mountains. The staff so friendly and helpful. A lovely breakfast of eggs, bread, fresh fruit and coffee/tea is included. The place is located a short 8 - 10 minute walk from town housed behind a large wooden door. Our room for 4 was very comfortable and reasonable. Highly recommend!
