Basic amenities but the cottages are clean and have a fantastic view of the lake. The food served is freshly cooked and delicious. All the staff are friendly, cheerful and very helpful. We had a wonderful time.

Wonderful place filled with helpful and friendly people. The water games are entertaining. Do ask for annappan who took us for a nature walk. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Kudos to the kitchen team who fed us delicious meals 😋. Don't miss visiting this place.

One of the highlights of the trip was the visit to Jog Falls but the Sharavathi Adventure Camp was a wonderful find. Being a regular JLR property guest, we decided to stay at this place for two nights given our desire to see the magnificent falls. The property is located at the reservoir created by the dam near Jog Falls. All the cottages have an amazing view of the reservoir that instantly calms you and is very serene. Since it is located on the hills, there are stone steps to reach the cottages. Check-in was smooth and the staff was professional and made our stay comfortable. The buffet had a good spread. The river fish served must be tried and it was the freshest catch we had ever eaten. The cottages are spacious and have a balcony where one can sit and enjoy the lovely scenery. We stayed at a regular cottage (Cottage 5) that had basic amenities like water jug, kettle, cups in the room. There was a stand for drying clothes in the balcony. Toiletries included soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand wash and towels. The regular cottage needed paint work as there were some stains on the walls inside. The main itinerary in the package - visit to the falls includes the back and front views which was amazing at this time of the year. The camp provides fun water sport activities like motorboat ride, pedal boat ride, kayaking, jet ski (additional cost). The water trampoline was something new, but we didn’t try that. However, the kids at the camp and a few adults enjoyed it. The water activities are available for people not staying at the property for a nominal fee. The roads from Bengaluru to the property are in very good condition for the most part. State Highway (SH) 1 is a bit worn out with potholes in some places. The last 2 km to the camp is quite bad. Fortunately the stay at the camp made it worth the distance and effort.

After reading the reviews I felt very positive about this property. But please don't go here. Don't lose money like me. Please. To begin with the property is in a good location - ie on the lake of the reservoir. So u get good views. But other than this there is nothing positive to say. We pay approximately 4500 per person per day. The rooms are shabby. The bedsheets are all dirty. Room is full of bugs and bug litter (lizard litter I guess). I stayed in room 2. It had the weirdest bugs ever! I can understand the property is inside the forest and bugs are expected. But atleast when a family is checking in a person can go clean it. Highlight was the washroom. No obvious stains or stinks. But it was full of bug litter. When I entered I asked the staff to clean. And what an amazing feat he cleaned it within 2 minutes! All he did was pour some water and came out to tell "it's clean already". It's a government (aided) property what else can one expect! They have this time slots of when what will be served. If u ask anything out of this slot u won't get it. I reached there around 6, given the totally aloof route, my old mother in law wanted a tea once we reached and guess what they did not serve tea because it was outside the slot! Let's come to evening snack and dinner Snack - tomato sauce diluted as soup with maggi, chilli bhajji (great options right!) Dinner - roti size of coaster, dhal, beetroot poriyal, beans kurma, nimbu rasam, pulao, plain rice, curd, pickle, bread croutons and rabadi, egg masala and some non veg item ( I m a veg so no idea what it was) No items are labelled. So u have to play the guess game with ur family. In the list of above items the only thing that was consumable was the dhal, plain rice, curd, pickle. Beetroot and beans korma were too salty my kid almost vomitted. Pulao - I don't even know if it's was intended to be that - horrible, simply horrible. Roti were coasters. Rabadi was basically milk boiled with sugar and thickened with rice flour slurry. Bread croutons - ok let's not talk about it. The property is in forest - so it's dark yes. But they can keep few good bright lamps for pavements right. But no they don't disturb nature and keep the lowest bright ones possible. Given that there is no room service, making the kids and old people walk back and forth for the "food slots" is an adventure on its own. One other major discomfort we as family felt was - the entertainment room - the place were board games are kept and the bar are the same. And whenever u wanna walk into the dinning area u need to cross this bar area. If looking to avoid this, need to take the tedious route of climbing numerous slippery dangerous steps up and down. So u can't let the kids play for too long too in here. The staff is not bothered about giving u a good experience. They wanna complete the task given to them and they won't take the extra step to keep u comfortable. There is absolutely NOTHING POSITIVE ABOUT THIS PLACE. Literal waste of

Fantastic View of the reservoir. Well organised trip to Jog falls. Fun water sports. The food was simple and tasteful. Right after this we stayed at River Tern lodge another Jungles lodges property where the options were more. This wasn’t really an issue for us as we are not a big fans of vast spread which taste just average.

Based on the location and ambiance, I would have given 5-stars. But there are some minor improvements needed - and hence 4-star rating. This is located next to reservoir and hence a very beautiful view of water body surrounded by hills. Amazing place! The rooms are no-frills (no AC and no TV). This is actually what I liked - staying in nature without modern amenities! They operate on 1-day package (rated per person) - all inclusive, with boating in the evening and trip to Jog Falls included. They take you to Falls at 7am in a Jeep (or a Bus if more people) and cover the back and front of the falls. Food is buffet- and average quality. This is something they can improve. Also, booking is online, and there is no proper response to emails or phone calls to their centralised reservation. These are the reasons for one less star.
