Hotels with Breakfast in Trim

Had to cancel our booking due to a friends mothers passing away, I contacted the hotel as soon as possible and was told to email the reservation manager, which i did straight away. I heard nothing back and had to call two days later and spoke to Shona in reception who advised she couldn't help me and she would have the reservations manager call me back. A while later Shona called me back and said they couldn't offer a refund as i had contacted them after my check in date, I advised her that i had emailed the day before check in but hadn't heard anything back, she said she would check this and come back to me. She phoned back again and advised there would be no refund as they hadn't recieved my email, I asked that the reservations manager contact me. I received an email from Stephen and explained the situation but as it was within 72 hours of our stay they were unable to offer any refund or to rebook. There was no leeway or understanding on his part and I am utterly disappointed with the lack of care shown.

Very friendly staff when I arrived and plenty of free parking. I got a spotlessly clean room with plenty of workspace, the coffee maker in the room is a nice touch. The hotel is only 10 mins walk from the town centre. As it was a quiet Tuesday night I ate in the hotel restaurant which was good value. Breakfast, included with the room, was served in the main restaurant and it was nice to have a freshly cooked fry up, not the usual lukewarm buffet most hotels seem to have now. Looking forward to staying again in a few weeks time.
