The best hotel in Topeka. Of course, that bar is not so high. Comfortable hotel, great beds. Downtown with a few places for a bite or a drink nearby - though downtown Topeka is slowly coming back - don't expect Las Vegas. Staff at hotel very helpful and friendly. We had two rooms for three nights. Only having the rooms cleaned on third day was of no use to us and we had to ask for fresh towels each day. They were delivered with a smile, but considering the rates for a place in Topeka, I think it could be a bit higher level of service. Weather Room restaurant has good reviews. Did not dine there. The breakfast as so-so and even though there was still time in the breakfast service period, staff clearly wanted us out (and other patrons) so they could prep for lunch. With 30 min left and a small buffet, it is not good to hear ”time will be tight” from the person seating us. Overall, a good place and will stay here again. For breakfast go south to Hanover Pancake House or north to the Coffee Bean.

If you have stayed in a sleep inn before, you know what to expect. This room is better suited for couples and maybe a small child. They are not micro small but a little smaller than a typical Hampton Inn/Marriott room. They are also cheaper. The staff were friendly, the place was clean, the beds comfortable. I detected no smells. There are some fast food places nearby, a hooters, a culvers (think fried food) and a nice deli where we picked up a meal for dinner . These were within walking distance more were available if you drove a little more. The clerk at the desk apologized as her computer wasnt working. She said the same thing when i called the day prior. Internet was all but non existent as it cut in and out. The sign said the whirlpool was closed. A good clean room for us and our dog? yes, it surely had that. we may or may not stay there on the way back., but in a pinch, I would stay there..

Clean and comfortable. While almost all Hampton Inns meet that standard, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff make this one stand out. We stayed here before and had similar experiences. This trip, I left clothes hanging in the room when we departed on a Sunday. I called in: the housing staff had turned the clothes in (not always the case at these mid-range hotel/motels), and the desk staff made sure they were mailed to me promptly - and using a least cost USPS box which was almost certainly not the most convenient way to get it back to us. Kudos to Retta (who was at reception when I called in) and Atif (who apparently was the person who actually mailed the package to me)!

The Hotel Facility was fine maybe. A little above average. I like to walk to dinner after a day of travelling. Within five minutes walk I happened upon a non- script Mexican Restaurant! This family friendly diner welcomed me and provided me with the best Mexican dinner I have ever had (the pork was outstanding)! If you find yourself in Topeka book the SureStay by Best Western and buckle up for the best authentic Mexican food anywhere!!! Ranked #1 in Topeka it is honestly the best. I arrived by train extremely early in the morning, and staff were kind enough to help me store my bags behind the desk before check-in. The common areas are large and clean, as was my room. I had to leave before breakfast, however, it is included. Although only a five minute walk from the Amtrak train, everything else is a decent (walking) distance away (although that seems typical for Topeka). The hotel itself is massive, which gives it the feeling of being mostly empty. As a solo female traveler I was a little creeped out by the isolation. The hotel had the usual wear and tear, but nothing dramatic. This is overall what I expect from a budget hotel, so I have few complaints.

We stayed on February 3 with our dance team and I accidentally left my charging station for my iphone and iwatch in the room when I left Saturday. I called Saturday evening when I realized I had left it. Spoke to the man working the front desk, he assured me he would make sure to get in touch with housekeeping first thing in the morning, because we still had team members there that could bring it back when they left Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon I still hadn't heard anything, so I called again. This time I had to leave a message with housekeeping. I left a couple different messages and none of them were ever returned. I called again today (1 week later) told the girl at the front desk that I had called a few times about this and had never gotten an answer or a call back. She said ”well it was never turned in.” When I asked why my messages were never returned, she didn't respond at all. I have no doubt someone kept it for themselves, whatever I'm the one who left it, my fault. But the fact that not a single message was ever returned is extremely frustrating. Had it not been for this incident, I would have given them a 4 star rating. The room was nice, the check in staff on the night of February 3 was fantastic. But this has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I won't stay here again.

Fantastic staff! We booked 5 Rooms. The staff was amazing from booking to check out. They remembered our names, were always smiling and willing to answer questions. The rooms were very clean and had plenty of lighting. Even though the hotel seemed pretty full there was plenty of good parking and night time was quiet. Only negative might be, the heater/ac unit seemed to run constantly and we couldn't get the room temp adjusted 100% correctly. All 5 rooms had this same issue. We came to town for our sons wedding and could not have picked a better place for our stay. We would definitely stay here again.
