Knap Guest House

Knapp quest house is in a very nice authentic building. Next door there is a fabulous coffee shop place and the 2 restaurants and 2 bars is on the Waterfront, all within 2 minutes walk. Breakfast in bed was nice. Supermarket cross the street. You will not get lost in Tarbert.

Great place. Nice and secure so this place would suit those who feel vulnerable. Clean and tidy Comfortable bed. Can't fault it Well done Alan. Smashing place you have.

Arrived at the Knap Guest House after 36 hrs of travel from Nashville TN. ( and 2 hrs of sleep). Easy to find and checkin was quite organized. Our Suite was very clean and welcoming. The refreshments area was well stocked and the view of the harbor in late afternoon was incredible. Enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Seabed restaurant a block away. Massive pot of mussels and fish & chips that were outstanding. Breakfast in the room was perfect. We enjoyed our private dinning with an early morning view of the harbor. Everything about our quick stay was excellent. We were catching the morning ferry to Islay but will certainly return to the Knap Guest house when we can stay longer in the area. Small town Scotland is what we enjoy most visiting Scotland and how we will spend the next 3 weeks.

Great little hotel in small town. Location great. Service was great. Stayed one night on our way to the ferry to Islay.

We arrived around 8:45pm. It was contactless checkin but It was very quick and easy and no problems at all. Property was always quick to respond to me and communication was great. We basically just slept there so we can not comment about much else. We left for the ferry at 5:50 am so I am not sure if breakfast is good or not. Very clean and the room was great!

Loved my one night stay in this house. Great to meet Alan and his service was personalised. The whole house is full of his memorabilia, really beatifically decorated. Would return!

When I booked the description said parking available. It wasn’t, you had to take your luck in public car park. We did not see the host at all. It was like he was invisible. Breakfast delivered to room and left outside. No contact with host. Good location in the town.

Picked the Knap given it's good reviews and the people do seem to have been happy there but a few basic problems in our experience.Tarbert is a lovely place to visit with a picturesque harbour and nice walk out to a point with beautiful views of Loch Fyne. We ate at a very good fish restaurant.-the Starfish.The Knap is immaculate from a cleanliness point of view but our room was small and the guest house is situated on a very busy road .We like to sleep with an open window but that was just not possible due to the traffic noise.Breakfast ,in our opinion is not ideal being served on a tray to the door of the room between 730 & 830.It has not to be eaten in bed but on shelving on the wall in the dormer window, also having got back late from a wedding the night before we were wakened early by the delivery of breakfast to the adjoining room

Ok for 1 night, breakfast was lovely! Would have liked access before 3pm to drop bags off.
