Royal Tulip Hotels in Tangier

Very old hotel, if you have a lot of luggage in Medina, it will be inconvenient, it is a step, but it is very close to the pier, just opposite, it is very convenient to go to Spain by boat. If you have a lot of luggage, you can consider a transfer here.

Very good location. Welcome. Nice swimming pool. Unfortunately, the room given to me is not on the recently renovated floors (from the fifth floor). I was on the third floor. I asked to change the room but it was without result.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in late April 2023. We arrived from Casablanca, by high speed train. The train station, clean and modern, is right across the street from the Hilton Tanger. Upon arrival we were upgraded from a king exec room a to junior suite. Loved the room. It was spacious, big bathroom with separate tub and shower, 2 sinks and bidet. Lots of closet space. Housekeeping brought us extra pillows that we requested. We were on the 8th floor facing the sea so we had a view of the coast. We could see Spain in the distance and the ferry coming and going to the Tangier port. Before going for breakfast we made coffee in the room with the capsules provided. The breakfast buffet is great, lots of variety, eggs on order, hot and cold dishes, Moroccan and Western. The restaurant is on the 15th floor with fantastic views over the beach and the sea. There is a mall attached to the hotel. I bought a nice Tshirt in a ladies shop and we bought some snacks at the supermarket. We walked down to the beach and along the boardwalk area that stretches for a long distance toward the port and further east. It is so clean. Workers regularly clean beaches and streets. You rarely see plastic bottles or wrappers strewn about. We took a taxi to the Medina 2 days in a row and wandered around. One day into the museum. It was okay.

Had 2 rooms for the hotel. Average room, rather old. Renovations are in progress thus maybe caused the lack of service, had to wait rather long while checking in and in comparison with other moroccan hotels, no welcome drinks or familiarisation was given. There was no rooftop access for any aerial view despite strategically located next to the wonderful beach and nearby all the main attractions of the city. Staffs were friendly though, facilities and maintenance fell short for that last star.

For a Hilton…it could be better. On the other hand, the restaurant is excellent, the staff in the morning, well done to them, they are invested, smiling…. top At reception meh… we arrived at 2:30 p.m.. BBM told me the room would be ready at 3 p.m. that we could go for a walk and that at 3 p.m. it would be ok and that they would come and pick us up but no one came… . To review …. Personally I won't go back there again

I was welcomed very friendly by Hotelmanager Omar el B. I got this beautiful room with panoramic view of Tangiers and at the other side the swimming Pool. He goes far for his guests and speaks fluent Arabic, French and English. The hotel is tot a Golden Tulip hotel anymore but the service is still great. As an example I needed a top-up prepaid card for my mobile internet services and the crew went out and bought it for me. Every time I come back from outside the doormen welcomes me and the manager is always waving at me. It’s the second time I stayed here with the same experience and in August I will come back again to this beautiful hotel with great staff, spa and swimming pool were you can chill in peace without the noice from a busy city.

When you go somewhere that you really enjoy, you don’t count how many times that you have been there. This was at least my third visit to this hotel, maybe my fourth. But it was my longest stay (2 weeks, during Christmas and New Years). I recently was cleared for International travel after having a very complicated hip replacement. Post Covid, post surgery, I needed to go somewhere that I knew that I would enjoy. The Marina Bay did not disappoint. To start, the weather was perfect for winter weather. Sun daily, the panoramic view of shades of blue (my favorite color) was awesome. Since I retired in September 2023,this was one of few times that I could get away and try to answer the question: If I died yesterday, what would I regret that I did not have a chance to do. The answer is still a work in progress, but Tangier was a perfect place to think about the question. Much of the staff was the same incredible crew that I experienced from my previous visits. Mr. Berrada has added a few more superstars. Aya, in charge of guest services started my positive experiences when she messaged me, “We will be happy to welcome you.” I thought that was just normal professional courtesy. But when she said, “I’ll make sure that you have a pleasant stay”, after Covid, surgery, and an ever worsening global situation, I needed to feel like I was going to enjoy myself. One day I had the chance to visit with Mr. Amine Berrada and during a phenomenal 90 minutes plus, he talked about his vision for the hotel and the quest experience that he is shooting for. Before we finished Aya came in and we all talked for at least another half hour. Before I forget to mention something really special, my plan for the holidays was to get away and think. I made no Christmas or New Year’s plans. The first, second and third time that Aya mentioned the New Year’s Celebration that they planned, I thought that I would rather stay alone in my room. Her brother was visiting from outside the country, and I had a few opportunities to talk with him. Finally, I decided to join the folks for the celebration. I would have missed a fantastic evening had I chose not to attend. The multi course meal, the entertainment (a soulful singer & flamenco dancers) provided for and incredible night to remember. Separate subject: The only breakfast that I remember being better was the Atlas Vichy Celestins, in Bouznika. Their weekend spread is truly a must experience. But the daily offering, the love from the staff, etc make the daily breakfast at Marina Bay one of, if not the best hotel breakfast meals that I have ever experienced. Bottom line, my holiday experience at Marina Bay was so enjoyable, that I might finish 2024 the same way.

We really would like to thank you for rhis 3 days with your staff. People in the reception, the staff on the restaurant and bar, allways happy and helpfull. We would like to say a special thank you for Jamila, our room service was amazing, she is very happy, helpfull and attentive, so lovely. Thank you so much for our amazing days with you. Mamora Bay was a GREAT experience for us. The location is excellent and the staff are above par. We arrived on a late flight at almost 2:00 in the morning. The staff at Mamora Bay organized a taxi for pick-up and the fellow was there waiting for us (this was after several changes due to a flight cancellation, and communication with staff was timely and clear). The cost for the taxi was a normal rate and not an overpriced rate - according to my cousin who lives there. We had two rooms with two single beds in them. Each room had working air conditioner and the shower had great pressure and hot water. Beds were quite firm, but I have heard that it is the norm. Breakfasts were wonderful and we made our poor server go back repeatedly for more coffees. He always served us with a smile and joked about our love of coffee. Mamora Bay is GREAT VALUE in a GREAT PLACE with GREAT STAFF. I highly recommend staying here.
