Mercury Hotel-Premium All Inclusive

Pros. Bar staff very friendly even allowed us to play some English music on windows98. The snack shack woman was lovely and made 9/10 food every day. Cons. Rooms out dated like badly shower needs a curtain to stop a flood from happening. This may be a Bulgarian thing maybe. Food was awful just meat meal. Meat soup. Not much variation for lunch or dinner at all. Pool side is not maintained at all loose tiles loose stairs loose rail loose slide that I seen a child fall from. “Life guard” was never about. Entertainment staff seemed friendly but we was hardly approached to play any games when they was about which seemed like they was hardly there. The other guests are unbelievably rude that’s not the hotels fault I know but wow oh wow no Thankyou or please when getting drinks. Once again may be a cultural thing I don’t know. Just modernise your hotel and smile.

The atmosphere in the hotel was very poor. Something like heavy, it was strange there - as if thick. Employees either very stressed or very rude. Actually no one spoke English (apart from the offended manager). Food- a matter of taste. But when I wanted to take a picture of the table with food - literally - the cook came out of the kitchen and I was shouted at "PICTURES FORBIDDEN". He shocked me. Additionally, he was shouting at the staff on a daily basis. The screams were heard both from the back room and he did it in the room. I don't know about the other guests, but it made me nervous. A big strong guy tearing at the sad service. In the pool and next to it, there are many shortcomings in the tiles (so tiny), which resulted in cut feet in the first two days. The purchase of water shoes saved further injuries. The hotel staff pretended not to know what was going on (the manager was offended (!) When I told her about it). The rooms were not cleaned during the whole stay, I had the impression that the cleaning ladies (from Ukraine) simply did not have time. unfortunately there were ants and 3x some bugs on the walls. Towels changed on request. We were asked to change the linen after 10 (!) Days of stay. Lots of guests from Romania, Hungary. Most - like me - are dissatisfied. I have the impression that positive opinions were added by friends / employees. (of course I can be wrong) I do not recommend to anyone.

Absolutely horrendous hotel and very rude staff. Have had to book a different hotel for the rest of our holiday. Expected small children to sleep on a skinny mattress with nothing but bumps. How this can be a 4 star is beyond belief! As for the food, no comment!

Room with cockroaches. Queue for food every time, few seats waiting for the table to be vacated. Guests mostly Romanian gypsies and from Soviet countries. They were noisy, they stole all the fruit in 15 minutes, there was nothing left for other guests. The seam of the kitchen tries its best, but from a small budget it really doesn't have a chance to make quality food. Constantly chicken or turkey wings, pork knees and only toast bread. If you wanted a different pastry, you always had to come among the first guests, because they do not complement the food. For me, this is definitely not a four-star hotel but a worse three. I wouldn't come back. I had a better three star hotel in Bulgaria.
