This is probably the worst experience we have ever had in an HIE. We are Spire Elites and have stayed in every IHG property type. We weren't shown any appreciation, acknowledgement or offered any ammenities and we have stayed in IHG properties for close to 100 nights the last couple of years. We reserved a suite for the largest room they had. Suite was really beat up. The toilet ran constantly, the telephone didn't work, holes in the walls, dead insects in the ceiling light fixtures, carpet was stained with ripples from age. The entire room was way past its life cycle and just plain dirty. I just can't believe this was the most expensive room they had. This was probably the first time I have ever considered walking away from a reservation and getting a room elsewhere. Just no pride taken by the property.

Chose this hotel for location, reasonable price and liked that breakfast was included. Not very welcoming staff, paint stains on the elevator floor, stains on the sofa in the room. The breakfast offerings were very sp**** and not very appetizing….scrambled eggs consisted of big chunks, rubbery, tasteless turkey sausage, yogurt, cereal, couple of bananas and oranges, pre-packaged bagels. Next day, offerings were the same, but there was no yogurt. The icing on the cake was the coffee. There were 2 urns which were not labeled as decaf and regular. I asked the breakfast attendant whic one was decaf and was told that they both were regular. I asked to have some decaf and was told that there wasn’t any. So I decided on tea, but all were regular so I asked the attendant for decaf tea and when they retuned I was told that there wasn’t any. Omg….unbelievable…..talk about missing the mark on the basics. Said, sorry… and they could put in an order which would be here by the afternoon….a lot of good that would do right then! The next morning, same eggs….and what appeared to be hash…we did not bother to eat and just got coffee. The next day we couldn’t face going to the breakfast area again, so we went out and had a wonderful breakfast…..well worth paying for! Housekeeping…be it as our room was not attended to, we inquired at the front desk and were told that guests had to request housekeeping. Maybe guests should be informed of this at check in? Right?! Returned to the room in the evening and room was attended to, but tissues were not replenished…so had to go down to the front desk. One day I wanted to fill the ice bucket, and walked up and down the floor and could not find an ice machine. I asked an attendant and was told that it was on the 3rd floor…. Went to the 3rd floor and still could not find the ice machine….asked another attendant and was told that it was on the 4th floor….it was there, however because there is only one elevator, it took a while for it to arrive. So annoying! We have never had such a bad experience at a Marriott hotel which was not up to Marriott’s reputation. The best part of the stay was leaving.

If you’re looking for a quite, comfortable and clean hotel this is your place. Don’t expect a lot of warm welcomes and interaction from the staff. When I say quiet, I mean quiet. Like a library quiet. Which has its benefits. There is no bar or evening meal at this HGI. As a Diamond for over 10 years one of the reasons I prefer HGI is the bar and restaurant. This hotel is the exception. The breakfast is…. Well let me just say…. Pass on the breakfast. The food quality is very poor… I should have figured that when I entered the restaurant and there were 10-12 dirty tables and every abandoned plate had about 80% of the food uneaten. I thought that was odd but now I know why! The food is terrible! As for service…Its pretty much self serve. There is no service to speak of. You will have to find someone to give them your order, go find/get your own utensils, water (to include refills). So for a quiet, clean room, this is your place. But to eat, its worth the money WELL worth the money to go somewhere else. EVEN if you’re a Diamond!

I stayed here for one night while traveling to Miami. The lighting surrounding the hotel is weak, with numerous dark areas. The lighting at the entrance of the lobby was turned off. There was a large trash bag sitting beside the elevator leading to the room. The evening clerk was sullen and unwelcoming. She did not acknowledge my Choice Privileges membership. The room had areas of damage to the carpet, with debris scattered beside the sofa, and obviously not cleaned well. The bathroom had been upgraded, especially the vanity and mirror, but when using the shower the tub spigot turned in the wall. The shower diverter did not operate properly resulting in weak shower pressure since the majority of the water was going into the tub. Upon check out, the clerk was using her mobile phone to speak in a foreign language. She took my room card, but did not interrupt her call. I would have reported the issue with the shower if she had interrupted her call. I would never stay at this hotel again.
