Very dated. Room big but the shower room was just a little small. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was average. Buffet limited. Ample parking. Staff friendly. No plug socket near the kettle so had to move to the dressing table. Wardrobe not easy to open.

We held a 60th birthday party at the hotel over the weekend for my dads birthday. The hotel provided all food/drink and proved to be very good value for money! We had access to the venue from midday and was allowed to decorate the function rooms how we liked. Jane provided us with hot drinks and friendly chat. We had access to the bar area and x2 function rooms at no cost. The hotel provided a large dancefloor and also sourced a DJ for us too. Gan (Hotel Manager) arrived to meet us in the evening and ensured that all of our needs were met. The food was incredible and even included desserts too. The hotel have links with local charities to help people who are homeless, which enabled us to donate any leftover food without any going to waste. A comfortable, friendly feel where nothing was too much hassle. All staff were friendly, presentable and very welcoming too. A massive thank you from us all!!

My Rotary Club celebrated its 87 anniversary by holding a formal dinner at the Woodlands. Gan and his staff worked tirelessly to prepare for us (50 people) and the food and ambience were excellent which helped to make the evening a huge success. Gan is faultless in helping us at our usual meetings and for that we awarded him a Paul Harris Fellowship which is a very prestigious award in Rotary terms. I do not know all the names but besides Gan there is Nicky and Tom too to thank.

Have known Gan and his fine team for about 10 years now, having periodically worked in here as a wedding photographer . I have also been a paid up guest. One word describes the Woodlands, consistency. It all runs like clockwork in fact, right down to the smallest details. In all of the venues I have worked at around the UK, I have never been asked my opinion on how a venue can improve the hotel and guest experience for weddings, but when Gan took over here, that's the first thing he did to me. "How can we get the best wedding photography" he asked, "inside and out?". I was flattered that he valued my opinion enough to ask. When visiting as a guest, the food is exactly the same as when I had worked here, fresh and tasty served up by very able and willing staff who care as much as Gan does. Now I am retired, I shall miss working here now and then, but hope to keep in touch.

Having had a lovely evening with guests (16 in total) for a buffet I wish to thank Gan and his lovely staff at The Woodlands Hotel for making it special. The buffet consisted of a large selecition of items, some hot some cold and all beautifully presented and labelled. The tables where fully dressed with cutlery, glasses etc even though we where having a buffet. The room itself was spacious warm and cosy. A pleasant atmosphere. Perfect evening.

We had a wonderful stay at the Woodland Hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was freshly cooked once ordered. Room was clean and spacious. A very homely and comfortable hotel, which we will definitely use again if we are visiting Spalding.

A late review but just would like to say thanks to Gan and his team for excellent,friendly service We have had several great family get to gethers here,including celebrating my mums 80th birthday . Gan accommodated a family party with music ,dance floor and great buffet. We then spent Boxing day lunchtime getting together with excellent ,relaxed lunch Thanks Gan and the team

Attended a presentation meeting. Dinner (lasagne) was absolutely delicious, quite a large serving. Dessert was excellent with several choices. The service was very good. All staff are friendly and very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for any functions.

I attended a function at the hotel last Friday. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive, nothing was to much trouble. The food was excellent and plentiful, good quality ingredients. Well done Gan and your fantastic team. Would definitely recommend this venue.
