The Red Lion Hotel

Lovely light room on the second floor, clean and comfortable. We booked here because of the he real ale of which there were 4 cask choices. Timmy Taylor's Blonde was good and at the right temperature. The bonus was the delicious food. We're vegetarian and there were 4 different starters to choose from as well as a special and 3 separate mains. The butternut squash, lentil and almond wellington was delicious and plentiful served with mash, roast veg, peas and broccoli cooked to perfection. The spring veg risotto also very good and a selection of puds. Vegan options available so a place I would definitely recommend. Staff very friendly and attentive. A great place to stay in the heart of Spalding.

Went last night for the valentines meal. WOW!!! From start to finish I cannot fault a thing. We asked if we could go in early as we had something else booked for later. This wasn’t a problem. Food was absolutely delicious. Service just amazing. Loved the little touches on the table for Valentine’s Day. At the end of the meal we were asked of we wanted to spin the wheel! We won a Sunday lunch for 2! What a wonderful touch. Excited to go back. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely glorious food and venue . Organised works Xmas party and we travelled from all over the country to come here, eat drink , sleep and even an amazing full English breakfast Massive thanks to chef and staff, from all at H2OiQ Ltd

This hotel is just perfect. lovely staff, spotless room and delicious breakfast. we stayed last minute here on our way back from London. after losing all our cards and phones the staff couldn't of been more helpful to us. great selection on the tea tray and great produce at breakfast. sausage and bacon were cooked exactly how we liked. Had an excellent stay here. Just one night. Hotel was so clean and the room was amazing every had air conditioning which was definitely needed as it was lovely hot weekend Warm and friendly welcome when we arrived and all the staff we met during our stay were efficient and friendly. We had breakfast which was also very yummy would definitely recommend and stay here again.

We travelled to Spalding to attend the funeral of Graham Charles Stevenson Grenadier Guards. The Red lion hotel suited our every needs. The ambience was warm and welcoming.. The location perfect.. After the wake and then a curry we retired for a night cap in the hotel and the atmosphere was electric, The late great Jimmy Hendrix once stayed so his spirit must still sparkle here.

There was no welcome when I arrived and not a smile by any member of staff.the manager was openly hostile and the female manager was as unfriendly.they had been told by me several times that I wanted smart t.v.and they said I would get that.as the price included breakfast,I thought I could justify the price of the room by having breakfast, thinking it would be a full English and that it would be relaxing.no no no.all I received was a roll with an egg so runny it dripped all over the plate and the bacon was completely raw.utterly disgusting.I had to have cereal after because I was so hungry.just awful.the waitress didn’t care and just threw it all away.I was the only guest so it isn’t as though the chef was busy.ergo no excuse.just horrid.no apology or compensation.so I didn’t go to breakfast again.it is such a shame because the room was lovely.but but but don’t bother to visit,please

Lovely location, friendly staff, superbly clean rooms and very comfortable bed. Great value. The pub has great locals who are really welcoming and chatty. If you are wanting an evening meal go along to the local Gurka restaurant as this is fab.

We visited yesterday for the second time since the new management, had an excellent lunch, my Lasgne was very good and my keen carnivore companion felt his spinach and ricotta cannelloni could convert him to vegetarian!
