We could not have been happier with our stay at the Soundview. The room was immaculate. The view was stunning. The staff was friendly, and the location to downtown Greenport is excellent.

It's not a gorgeous B&B, but it's a nice B&B. It was foggy on the day I visited, so I'm not sure, but I'm sure the view is spectacular as it's along the coast.

Rooms on the water - such a vibe especially on the moody night we had! Nice set up inside, cozy bar on premises and easy access into Greenport.

With all the vineyards, breweries, and distilleries around, it would be nice if the hotel offered a shuttle to town or to some of the local offerings. Taxis are expensive and tough to get, so it makes getting around the area challenging.

Wow. Where to begin after an awful experience staying at the Sound View. It’s pretty obvious the new owners cared more about the visual aesthetics of this ‘remodeled beach motel’ than the service or staying experience. The views of the water can’t be beat but have fun with the nonfunctioning wifi and barefoot walks across the linoleum floors in the winter or summer. And the service? Despite calling 3x in advance and submitting an order form with payment information, there was no bottle of champagne awaiting my wife and I as we touched down for the first night of our honeymoon. After mentioning to the front desk the following morning, barely an eyebrow was batted (forget an apology) and excuses were made that a manager was needed to take off our room bill. Cherry on top? They sent 4 different emails throughout our stay offering late checkout for $40. Nowhere do they mention before arriving that room service is *by request only*. Save your money and stay at a Best Western or Holiday Inn instead – at least you’ll get what you’re paying for.

Nicest spot on the North Fork. Every room has a beautiful beach view. The sunsets are spectacular and can be seen from every room’s deck or the well appointed restaurant. The hotel is a short drive to many local wineries and to Greenport which is a quaint local town. Take a short ferry ride Shelter Island and then another short ferry to Sag Harbor. This area is great fun all year round.

My husband and I stayed at Sound View Greenport for Columbus Day weekend so we could visit the wineries. Found the location convenient to the wineries and the restaurant/shops in Greenport. I know a lot of the cost of the room was the proximity to the water, which was right off our porch, but the room overall was not worth the inflated price for the weekend. We were in building 2 on the first floor and the floors on either floor aren't carpet (clearly to accommodate the sand) which allowed us to hear every movement of your neighbors upstairs at any hour. Also, for some reason there are windows in the entry doors with a flimsy shade that doesn't block the light of the parking lot/walkways and the bed is right next to the door. The bath is also tiny as you could get (with this ridiculous walk in closet next to it). My husband and I are used to moving in close quarters, but there was no way we could both be in the bathroom at the same time. If you want to stay by the water, be sure to just chuck any thought of cost and common sense design out the window before you arrive.
