I am currently sitting in my room @l'amphitrite palace Beach Hotel, writing this review with a very very heavy heart. I called on Wednesday June 23/2021 and booked two rooms 148 and 150 for my elderly mother, my two kids, our nanny and myself. What was supposed to be a lovely relaxing stay turned out to be an absolute nightmare. day 1: arrived at the hotel, were a bit disappointed to see that what used to be a beautiful hotel looks outdated, very sad and in need of an immediate makeover, the towels must be at least 20 years old, the carpets at the lobby and the halls are worn and outdated, so is the furniture in the rooms. I was disappointed but decided to ignore the little details and enjoy my time with my mother that I hadn't seen since pre-covid. That same night, I invited 4 cousins for dinner at the restaurant, the menu is very limited, the food is below average, we asked for a pepperoni pizza for my kids, the waiter smirked and looked at me like I was asking for the moon. the steak and fish were overcooked, the salad was okay. After the cousins left, I started my kids' bedtime routine and was sweating while reading them their bedtime stories, my mother was also sweating in the other room, I called the front desk asking for a technician to come look at our AC but was told the AC was completely turned off due to Covid, REALLY? My husband, children and I have traveled at least 4 times since Christmas of 2020, to multiple destinations outside of the US and never heard of such thing! how can you turn off the AC in the middle of the summer and not disclose this to clients BEFORE they check in? I asked the nice gentleman on the phone and I was told this was on their website. really? but I made my reservation over the phone. why didn't Layla, the reservation agent disclose this to me before I made the trip to from Casablanca to skhirate with my young children and elderly mother who's in a wheelchair and can't get up to get some fresh air in the balcony? speaking of wheelchairs, this 5 star hotel has only one ramp to accommodate wheelchairs and it is so out of the way we decided to just lift her every time instead of walking around the hotel to get to the ramp. The guy that helped with our bags, Said, was really nice and helped us carry her up the stairs leading to the lobby so for that I am thankful. After going back and forth with the front desk guy about our AC I decided to just give up and on central air and ask for a fan for my mother but was told they didn't have that on-site. (Have I mentioned This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel?) Again, I decided to just move on and not ruin our vacation so we ****** it up and went to sleep.. in the middle of the night the same night, a huge rock fell out of the second floor (this hotel is falling into pieces) and scared the heck out of us, I was especially worried about my mom as she is almost 80 years old and is very fragile. I took pictures and showed Said (not the guy that helped with the wheelc
