Sirmione|1.08km from museo del pescatore
One of the worst experiences of my life, which I feel obliged to share! Total lack of professionalism and quality of services absent to say the least. To make a long story short, in addition to many other inconveniences (total incompetence in managing allergens, sockets not working, air conditioning not working, broken mosquito nets, dilapidated bicycles, etc.), on the second day my partner and I realized that the towels were not had been changed, even though we had left some on the floor as is usually done in hotels and had marked them to prevent them from being re-proposed as clean. The owner, an apparently pretty 75-year-old lady, insisted several times that she had changed them personally, convinced that she could fool us. After reluctantly changing them for us, he continued to insist, even the following morning, that the towels had been changed and that our demand was unreasonable. After much insistence, the argument arose in which the lady threatened my partner with a slap and then, pulling her by the wrist, tried to snatch the mobile phone from her hands. Afterwards the daughter, who intervened to resolve the dispute, believed that we were doing ****** just to save money, although it would have been a sign of professionalism to have paid at least the second night after the immense inconvenience caused to us. At this point we paid the requested amount in full rather than being treated like beggars as well as being ridiculed and we left this nigh**are hotel behind.

Yachting Hotel Mistral

We were not staying at the hotel although we wished we were. Walking past we stopped for a drink which turned into 2 and then we had dinner. The service and the food were excellent. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the following evening and had another fantastic dinner. Again, couldn’t fault food or the service. The public areas are spotless and the gardens full of flowers and solar lights which come on as the sun sets. Very enjoyable time had on both occasions.

Hotel Riel

Riel is a lovely and well maintained hotel in a great location. Friendly and courteous staff. Our room and bathroom were clean, comfortable and modern with only a few minor issues as the mini fridge was noisy and not cooling properly, also a kettle was provided yet apart from a few herbal tea sachets no coffee, sugar or milk supplied (strange arrangement). Small balconies have no privacy at all and are easily accessible from any other room. Free bike hire was the real bonus for us. I'm surprised that people aren't mentioning bland and tired looking breakfast room and the COLD breakfast (which was our main disappointment), otherwise it was varied and plentiful and they serve fantastic coffee! I'd visit again off season.
Hotel Alfieri

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. Martha was so friendly and that big smile on our arrival, it was lovely to get such a warm welcome. Martha her colleague (cannot remember his name) were so friendly to us, were always delighted to see us at all times, the big smiles, chat and just so so helpful. All reception staff were lovely. When Martha and her colleague heard we would be checking out early for our return flight, they were arranging a breakast pack for us but then arranged for us to eat in the breakfast room. This was so nice and a great start to our day. Theres always one....and that was the man who worked in the bar/front desk at night - he was unfriendly and just not nice. All areas were clean and tidy at all times and the cleaning staff were lovely. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. It was great having air conditioning in the room. We had a fridge which was great. Breakfast every morning was fantastic, a wonderful selection of hot food, cold meat cheese salads, selection of fruit and juices, a coffee machine, choice of various teas and the desserts were just amazing. A great start to our day. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We felt the staff whether that was the cleaners, restaurant staff or any other staff were always there when you needed them, it was lovely. There was a pool on the roof of the Hotel, which was lovely with a bar. There was a lovely seating area at front and back of the hotel. The location was good. We went to the Castle and the shuttle bus was not too far from the hotel. The bus stop for Venice, Verona etc. was not very far either. There was various restaurants within walking distance to the Hotel. We had a wonderful Holiday and would highly recommend and visit Hotel Alfieri again.
