Atha Resort

Wow what a find. We wanted a base where we could stay whilst going to climb Lion Rock (a must do if you don't mind heights). Atha Resort is a small hotel only 7 minutes car journey away from the rock. The hotel is made up of outdoor communal areas and individual outbuildings for rooms. From the moment we arrived to leaving the staff couldn't do enough. The service was great. The rooms were lovely and private and I think each had a balcony and air con. The hotel pool was a great outdoor space and a nice size. There was also a small poolside bar, which was open whilst we were there. The highlight was the food. So tasty and beautifully presented with so much pride, even the breakfast was a work of art! Next time I'll definitely stay for 2 or 3 nights and sample more of that menu!

Nice location, the modern design of the cottages surrounded by tropical forest, good pool, open air restaurant, very close to Sygiria rock, friendly personnel, big breakfast. Though some small, but important things can be taken into account for improvement: - missing some extra furniture in the room: no side tables by the bed, so you need to keep your book/phone/a glass of water on the floor; some extra bench or a chair in the room would be nice in order to put a bag or clothes on it, but not on the floor; - power plugs were of British standard, so extra adopters needed; - not a very good isolation between the rooms, so you can hear the neighbours above talking and walking early in the morning or at night; - quite slow internet; - a power/electricity key for the room is attached to a lock key, so when you take a plastic key/card, the light in the room is immediately off, so you need to unlock the room in the total darkness. Either a key and a card should go separately or the power switch should be adjusted; - some wooden plank or a rubber mat can be useful below the pool shower, otherwise you stand on a metal grill, that is not very comfortable for the feet.

Staid here with my family. Ideal hideout location with maximum privacy. No worries in regards to security. Couldn't see any issues from the point of cleanliness. Friendly staff, always willing to go that extra mile to please us. The management and the staff ensured the maximum comfort is offered for us. All my family members enjoyed the food. It's exceptionally tasty. Atha Resort is the place to be.

What a perfect place to stay! The rooms are fantastic, the location is great and you feel like you are in a magical place! We spent there the new year and it was so much fun, we celebrated with the stuff and it was one of our best and unforgettable memories from Sri Lanka! In addition, Ishan, the manager, is truly an amazing person who will help you with everything! I felt sick during my stay and he was so emphatic and helpful in the situation, and him and the rest of the team made our stay unforgettable. Stayed in January. I don’t usually write reviews, but the level of service at the Atha Resort was amazing, they couldn’t do enough for you. Was my birthday and they arranged a special table which was amazing. Small cozy resort with lovely pool and bungalows within easy reach of Lions Rock.

Absolutely fantastic stay at Sigiriya. Had a massive fun with this great place. The warm welcome and professionalism of the staff made my experience truly amazing. Calm and quiet environment. Nature lovers would love this place. Best place yo visit for foreigners and locals. Very reasonable price. The food was amazing. They made our breakfast so much better and we had a great meal. Specially We must Thank full to Asela Who was always there to make sure that we’re 100% satisfied. Very friendly staff. Everything was Perfect. Love this place

This is a beautiful hotel. The gardens are tranquil and well designed. The pool is lovely. The service was excellent and the breakfast was plentiful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here. It is very close to Sigiriya and Dambulla.

Beautiful resort! Clean and tidy rooms! I stayed with my mum and we had a lovely stay! Staff were amazing and very helpful and friendly. Pool towels are provided. Staff happily provided tuk tuk driver at good prices. Wonderful breakfast, and so much of it too!

Wow! This is a hidden peaceful paradise. The perfect place to stay whilst visiting Sri Lanka's cultural triangle. From the moment you walk in there's an air of calm and relaxation. With the sound of trickling water, soft relaxing music and the sounds of nature all around you. The living accommodation is of European standard with comfortable beds, pillows and all the mod cons you would expect. This family run hotel also excels in hospitality at a five star level. All the staff are amazing. Asaila really looked after me as I require gluten free food. I mustn't forget to mention the food, all grown on the farm land that surrounds the hotel. We also ate there most evenings as the food was so good. A great big thank you to all the team at Atha resort. Hop
