The overall atmosphere is nice for a short vacation out of the Shanghai City center. One major stand out amongst the employees was Alisa. my check in was not only handled professionally, but also very attentive to details. Alisa has a friendly smile and very good attitude, her English was excellent and was very helpful with letting me know about the Chinese New Years activities at the hotel. With her help, I was able to enjoy a Great laser light show and firework show last night.

This is a very tasteful hotel. The environment is clean and hygienic, and the service is warm and thoughtful. Especially the Western food in the Italian restaurant is on point and tastes great. Worth a try. We went to visit the film and television base next to the hotel. By the way, I checked into the Stech Hotel. This was a pleasant trip. I was very satisfied with the accommodation and meals. I will come again if I have the opportunity.

The Yuluxe Sheshan, Shanghai, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
4.8/57357 Reviews
She Shan, Songjiang University Town
The service was always on point and the staff is very friendly and willing to assist. The location is perfect and it's easy to move around. The shopping mall is not far. If you don't have a car you can easily use a Didi and it'll take you wherever you wish to go. The room was spacious and very clean. The only downside is that we didn't have a lot of food options during breakfast, as we're vegans. Most food items had meat, sea food or eggs. Hopefully I'll find more food options without meat, seafood or eggs, as I'll be coming back in the near future.

The weekend were for the kids, all they wanted was an outside pool and an indoor playground, and they loved it! I personally thought it was ok, pool not deep enough for them to swim, but great depth for them to play and had a slight! Indoor Playground much too expensive, but the Service and look after the kids and choice to play were excellent! All in all I only can say, Happy kids, Happy parents! I plan to stay there again, just for the kids.
Fuyue Hotel
4.7/51910 Reviews
She Shan, Songjiang University Town
It was a great hotel experience. Right from check-in I had such a pleasant experience. The receptionist (Miss Liu 前台小刘) was accommodating and absolutely went out of her way to help me settle in after a 40hr multi-legged trip. I had to double up on coffee to survive the jet lag and the maid Miss Yang (杨水莲) whom I never actually saw in person took note and left me extra bags of instant coffee with a kind note. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Everything works and is of decent quality. I am not certain if the hospitality star systems in China or anywhere are one and the same. Although I suspect Fuyue's 5-star rating is more domestic than the true five star experience one could get from the Waldorf Astoria, the hotel feels luxurious enough for the money. And while it doesn't come with the level of service one normally would expect from a 4-star place in the west, the local staff I interacted with were all pretty helpful. There's a gym and a 25m pool where 6 or 7 people could swim laps comfortably on the second floor. And the Chinese buffet for breakfast was quite amazing as well - there are enough ingredients and plates that one could consider a typical continental breakfast with two caveats: there is no cheese and the yoghurt is watery. I would definitely go back.

Shanghai's skyline, punctuated by the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower and the towering Shanghai Tower, paints a vivid picture of the city's impressive blend of traditional charm and modern flair.

Journeying to Shanghai

Shanghai's main international airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, offers numerous connections globally. Once there, you can reach downtown Shanghai using the Shanghai Maglev Train, buses, or taxis. For domestic travelers, high-speed trains offer an efficient means of travel.

The main mode of payment in China is usually through AliPay or WeChat Pay. Most places still accept credit and debit cards, but it's wise to carry some local currency (RMB) for smaller vendors. Mandarin is the official language, with Shanghainese also widely spoken. A translation app may come in handy when interacting with locals.

Shanghai is brimming with must-see sights. Walk along the Bund to see colonial-era buildings against the backdrop of a modern skyline. Visit the tranquil Yuyuan Garden, an exquisite example of Ming Dynasty design. The Shanghai Museum hosts an extensive collection of Chinese historical artifacts, and the Shanghai Disney Resort promises fun for the entire family.

Shanghai's Seasons and Apparel

Shanghai has a humid subtropical climate. Summers (June-August) are hot and humid, while winters (December-February) can be quite cold. The best times to visit are autumn (September-November) and spring (March-May), when the weather is moderate. Pack a mix of lightweight and warm clothing to adjust to fluctuating temperatures in Shanghai.
