Very good hotel in the hart of Sarlat-la-Canéda. We stayed for 3 nights. The building is an old one, so to keep the original wood stairs its even forbidden to build an elevator. The room was good The staff was very helpful with restaurants reservations. The breakfast was very good,

The location is in the core of the medieval city, attractive and inconvenient at the same time. Hotel parking is available, paid, about 300 meters distant. Difficult to figure out and difficult to navigate. Once overcome, we were upgraded to a deluxe suite on the main floor, a welcomed benefit. It was rather odd but well equipped. Once logistics are overcome, the location is convenient to restaurants and shops. Be sure to book parking, you’ll need it along with GPS to make it all work. Service was helpful.

Everyone at Le Petit Manoir was helpful and kind. It’s location right at the edge of the beautiful medieval town was a huge plus. Unfortunately I was ill part of our visit and the staff were very solicitous. Beautiful large room with wonderful bath and tub. Bathroom needs a couple of grab bars to help us that are getting a little older. Bed a little soft for us. If I could have arranged the room I would remove part of the furniture that had no purpose and put a wardrobe or dresser in their place. Cecile and Seiko at reception were very nice-also Nicholae who cleaned rooms and served breakfast. It would have been nice to have more fresh fruit at the breakfast. Communication was good before and during our visit. It is a lovely hotel with many positive attributes that outweigh the few improvements that could be made.

We couldn't have asked for more accommodating service. My husband has some mobility issues and we were given an upgraded room on a lower floor at no additional charge. The room was classically furnished with a modern bath and a fabulous rain shower. The hotel is centrally located and surrounded by many shops and restaurants. It was challenging to find nearby parking on Saturday market day as the abutting street is closed to traffic, but the staff gave detailed info on the options. Highly recommend!

Everything about this charming boutique hotel is wonderful. My room was fabulous with a fun little balcony. Exceptionally clean and beautifully furnished. The staff went out of their way to be as kind and helpful and thoughtful as possible. Cecil and Mickael were also really fun to talk to. I will really miss this place and the people and my daily pool hangouts. Incredible location, very close to everything and yet super quiet. Love, love, loved my time there. Hope to be back soon.

Located in the center of Sarlat-Le-Canéda in a building that dates from the 15th century, Le Petit Manoir is a boutique hotel that sports its history like a fine cloak. With its nine uniquely themed rooms and suites it achieves a perfect balance of the Old World and the new. Just walking down the curved stairway to the breakfast room below street level feels like an intriguing history lesson, where one might see the spectre of a former occupant of the monastery pass by. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Cecile, and then Michael the next morning. The entire staff was professional, friendly, and excited by the renovated property, recently reopened in mid-2022, and their enthusiasm was contagious. We stayed in the elegant Josephine Baker suite, with its high ceilings and a layout affording the perfect amount of quiet seclusion in the off-season. It overlooks the courtyard and pool, but of course in December both were empty, so it had the feel of a private residence. While the suite is one that does not have a tub along with the shower, the bathroom is situated in such a way to grant the user a view of the older facades of the Manoir without being observed from the outside, which adds an additional level of that irresistible combination of history and luxury. Speaking of the bathroom, the problem of accommodating contemporary plumbing requirements with a building constructed in the 1500s has been artfully solved with the installation of a state-of-the-art combination towel rack\water heater\space heater in each bathroom that can be set by the guest to heat the bathroom, as well as water for the sink and shower in 15-30 minute increments or using a fully manual setting. The suites have all of the amenities one expects to find in a hotel of this caliber, including a few that are special to the region, such as the summer truffle chips, chocolates, fruit and other local baked goods, as well as the stocked fridge, coffee maker and a self-heating kettle that was a nice bonus for this tea drinker, who enjoyed several cups of Darjeeling to both start and end our sightseeing days. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable with its *****ed satin-thread trimmed linens that have just the right blend of crispness and softness. We opted for the breakfast package, which allowed us to experience a full selection of brunch courses with local fare; meats, eggs with spiced tomatoes, yogurts, fruits and nuts and a variety of grains. A note re accessibility: the hotel does not have an elevator; the nine rooms are accessed via central spiral staircase that was quite manageable for us, but may not be for those with stair issues. Our days at Le Petit Manoir were extremely satisfying, and it was a complete pleasure to return to it at the end of each day. For us it was the perfect location from which to explore the chateaux and other attractions nearby. The hotel is ideal for those looking for a respite from the bustle of the city, while at the same time

We stayed here two nights while exploring the area and attractions. Sarlat-la-Caneda is such a charming medieval old town. The hotel location is right in the middle of the main street. Close to many restaurants, cafes, small grocery store, shops etc etc. When we arrived, they had the Saturday market going on. We stayed in the Madame De Pompadour suite on the top floor. The spiral staircase really takes you back in time. The room is so elegantly furnished. Very nice comfortable bed with nice pillows. Great stone fireplace in the room. Small sitting area and also a desk and chair in the corner. We really loved the spacious bathroom. Both tub and large shower. The toilet had its own room. They also provided slippers and bathrobes. The oversized bath towels were such treat for our trip. Upon arrival, we got complimentary strawberries and chocolates; as well as 2 bottles of water. That was a pleasant surprise. We did not get a chance to use the beautiful pool out front. It was serene and beautiful to look at each time we passed by. AC worked perfectly (so quiet), as it got a bit warm during the day time. Super quiet, great sleep quality. We found the reception staff to be friendly and English speaking. That is super helpful. They also have restaurant recommendations. We did not take the breakfast as we normally like to try out the local patisserie and cafes. During check in, the lady gave us a quick tour of our room; that was very helpful. Some notes for travelers: there is no parking on site. We parked our car at the free parking lot - Place des Cordeliers. It was a short but hilly walk to the hotel. We only traveled with one suitcase each, with rollers, that was not a big deal. When we checked out. We brought our rental car and parked on the main street. It was much closer and easier to load up. You will not be able to do that on Saturday, when the street is blocked off for the market. There is no elevator, they do assist with getting the luggage up and down. Overall, this was a 5 star stay for us. Very pleased.
