I spent a week in this hotel. Great facilities and friendly staff. If you like hiking or cycling this is a great place.

Don’t go. It’s a trap. The hotel website as well several agency’s such as Booking and ********** show facility’s that are not actually in/at the hotel. There is no private beach, no watersport activities, no wellness area, no proper gym. The staff is very friendly, except for the management team…

My family and I were in Sardinia on vacation, in the week of August 28th to September 4th, advised by the travel agency, our stay was at the hotel Mangias Santa Teresa, Supposedly, we would have a wonderful holiday, in the comfort of a 5-star hotel, with a superb location and a service and infrastructure compatible with the category of hotel we chose. None of that happened! We paid for 5 stars but got 3 stars! A frustration for those who hope to bring the family together and enjoy a relaxing and unique week of the year. Let me tell all of you about it… so you wont make the same mistake my family and I did. About the ROOM Small room , really small shower, dirty shower. Asked 4 times during 3 days for water drain damage in the shower, they came when we had a small inundation over the room, fixed it, but yet, did not clean it, and left the towels on the floor! 5 star service!! About the FOOD Really poor buffet for a 5 star hotel, always repeting, hard/old bread, old fresh fruit, juices are water with a twist of really bad flavourings…"Plastic" deserts...not recomended!!! About the INFRASTRUCTURE The hotel website is misleading! A lie! The Italian Bistro is not open, there is no à la carte service. The tennis court and football field are not working. SPA, non-existent! When I asked about the SPA, they told me that they don't have a SPA, but rather a Wellness Center that is not yet in operation, but that they had a room where I could have massages. Gym…temporary! It's a mini room with 3 machines, and it doesn't look very clean. There are machines that can still be seen packed in one of the hotel's entrances. Access to the beach is very bad and even dangerous... there are loose boards and protruding screws. The sun loungers are piled up and the beach is abandoned. And although there was a storm on the first two days, it can be seen that this was not the reason, as it continued in the same way until the end of the stay. There is no nautical base, nor canoes, as mentioned About CLEANING, HYGIENE AND MAINTENANCE We received an email from the hotel, announcing a 12 million euro renovation… it raised expectations… It is noticeable that the hotel had some work done, but the cleaning work was not carried out. There's paint on the stairs and floor, windows full of dust... There are cockroaches on the floor near the bedroom doors, it can be seen that the cleaning of the passage areas is not done daily, as many stairs and corridors are extremely dirty. During a storm, two sun loungers fell into the pool and remained there for two days. The rooms were not cleaned, they only made the beds, sometimes not removing even the rubbish from the bins. Bags of dirty laundry are left day and night near bedroom doors The towels that are placed in the rooms are left on the ledges without any protection In my children's room, in the shower, on the emergency wire was something that suggests feces The main corridors of the hotel were dirty, full of construction materials,

The resort is stunning! Service however leaves to be desired. Not attentive to guests, in fact it feels like you are disturbing their conversation between themselves when you need them. They are not very friendly. The cleaning staff was the most friendly experience.

Firstly check in was quick and smooth where our bags were taken to our room for us. Danbar was very helpful and friendly. Andrea, one the bar staff went above and beyond to make conversation and suggest good places to see whilst in the area. We did find that our room was always nicely presented once housekeeping had been. Changing the towels and presenting the bed nicely. Otherwise the resort is clean and tidy, the bar staff are all friendly and helpful. Avoid the majority of the reception staff if you can. Do note that this hotel is expensive but provides very little. You cannot use tap water in this area but you are not provided with any water apart from two tiny bottles upon arrival. They charge €5 for one bottle of water at the bar. (Get the bus into town and walk to the despar or eurospin, you can buy 6 bottles for under €2 euros) a small beer is €7… don’t waste your money. The ‘private’ beach that is advertised is actually half a mile uphill from the resort. It’s not private the way you would think, it’s a public beach with sun loungers cornered off for mangias customers. Nobody checking this either so anyone can really use them. The signs ‘water sports’ in the resort just end up taking you to a horrible bit of water where there is a ton of plastic and not a very pretty part of such a beautiful place. We found that a small minority of the reception staff were actually welcoming and helpful where a large portion of them were rude and dismissive. Our shower had broken 5 days into our trip so we reported this straight away where we were told it would be fixed the next morning. It wasn’t. We then reported it the next day as still being broken, we had to speak to reception twice in the space of an hour because nothing had been done. A man then came into our room to see the shower and said he couldn’t fix it and would be back with some more information on what to do. He never returned and nothing was ever done so when checking out we said it was still broken and nothing was done and the lady at reception said there was nobody to fix it. Surely they would then be unable to check someone into this room due to the broken shower but refused to extend our checkout time past 11 o clock because they were so ‘busy’ We also spoke to the same two ladies at reception on our last day to ask if they had any information about our transfer. They did not ask our names or what room we were, simply just said “no” On the same visit we asked if we were able to extend our checkout because with the usual checkout being 10am we weren’t due to leave the hotel until 5pm as we had a later flight. They said no to extending it past 11am so we agreed on that. Our last morning we went for breakfast and retuned to our room at 10:05 where we were then locked out. Going back to reception where the same two ladies were working we said we were locked out “checkouts at 10” they said and we tried to say that we had agreed on 11 where she bluntly said “we’ll change y

This hotel should not have been opened yet. Good: - location, close to Santa Teresa - Good hamburger, but cold fries.... Bad: - poor breakfast (little choices, no pancakes, poor bread, no fresh juices (water from tab served + added sirup or powders), the same decayed presentation fruit on the buffet for days in a row (with decayed parts turned away) - hotel is not ready (Gym, Spa, etc, tennis court, tennis balls, indoor bar closed, a la carte restaurant closed) - too high prices asked for cocktails (€14,-) en not even up to standard, ice not crunched but big ice cubes used, not enjoyable flavors - personnel eating (cooks) from customer's food prior to serving - dirty tables, 5 personnel members, including g.m. chatting with each other and not keeping restaurant and tables clean. - staff smoking in front of public (in a corner) and leaving cigarettes in sight on the floor, customer stairs and plants area. - Hotel in general not as clean as it should be in many ways and places.

Very bad experience! Cannot be a five start hotel, never! The manager is not prepare for this level! He is in the hotel inspecting but no interaction with the costumer. Cleaning very bad, rooms with bad level - don’t trust on the investment made! Bars closed, No activities, food not accordingly with 5 starts hotel, …

We’ve just stayed at Mangia’s for a few days and enjoyed our stay. I appreciate some of the points made in other reviews but none of them are enough to ruin our stay. The bar is no more expensive than many other places on the North coast. The beach is very quiet and has free umbrellas. It might not be a 5* hotel yet but they’ll get there soon enough.

Don’t be fooled by the beautiful location, stunning views and turquoise waters. There is no value for money, regardless of room rate, in the hotel and it’s services. A lot of the points written in previous trip advisor reviews still reign true and have not been rectified. I encountered them and many more frustrating problems. As indicated in another TA review, you are only permitted one pool towel per stay, that said you can swipe an extra one, on anyone of the frequent lifeguard absences. I hope he is is better at guarding lives than his towels. A lot of the staff are sweet, friendly and trying hard to please. Sadly if you are used to standards from an international hotel chain, you will be perpetually frustrated from arrival till departure, as there are none here. There is no sense of urgency anywhere and no apologies for any problems. I will definitely return to the region but stay in a tent or another nearby hotel. Although food and beverage prices are reasonable, water is 50% cheaper from the beach vendor. They also do sandwiches twice the size at the same price as those available at the bar. The sandwiches and salads are delicious at the vendor and well worth multiple visits. There is a walking distance restaurant with amazing food, run seemingly as a family business. Full of charm and great views of the sea.
