Hotel Carmel Santa Monica

The room we got is so cozy. We felt like home during our stay. the staff at the front desk was also nice. We can stop by there and request for a bottle of water. Amenities were fully equipped.

cute, well decorated hotel and the beds and bedding are good .. the towels could definitely have been more plush. What bothered me the most was that you could hear footsteps from those on the floor above, so if they get up early or stay up late, so do you. We could also hear the room adjacent to us through the vent in the bathroom. The staff is incredible and helpful and the attendants are also very kind, cordial and helpful as well.

I had a mixed experience staying at Hotel Carmel in Santa Monica. While the location is convenient and the staff are friendly and responsive, there were several issues with the room that affected our stay. Essential in-room amenities such as the TV and coffee machine were not functioning as expected. After reporting this, the staff did arrange a room change, which we appreciated. However, the replacement room still had problems — the phone service was not working, and the coffee machine had noticeable coffee/tea residue, which raised concerns about cleanliness. More generally, the hotel’s facilities feel quite dated, and the overall level of cleanliness could be improved. That said, the staff did make genuine efforts to address the issues, which we valued. With better maintenance and attention to basic room standards, the guest experience could be significantly improved.

Location is great. There is no air conditioner or fridge in the room. I paid over 700 AUD for 2 rooms for 1 night which I thought it was not reasonable for the condition of the room.
