Melia Llana Beach Resort & Spa

We were very enthousiastic about the riviera snackbar. The food was very good, and we were very happy with the waitress, her name is Elida Silva Bor. She realy made us feel very special and welcome ! You can realy see that she likes her job and wants to give the People a good feeding!

Beach room - looked a bit tired, bed fabulous, plenty of room. Bathroom- shower good but drainage poor. Staff - without exception, everyone polite and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Some uniforms looked tired. Company could provide new. Pools and bar areas- look tired. Tiling coming away from pool walls. Too close to other hotel. Lots of noise that echoed throughout. Music OK but too much Bob Marley. I shot the sherif should only been listened too at the very most twice. Animation team - fabulous. However imassuming that their budget for equipment and costumes is at the best poor. Food- very difficult. Large numbers. Different nationalities. Imported. It was OK. I would reccomend the BBQ evening. But not pasta evening. Shops & hairdressers good. Not great variety of goods though. Cleanliness- very good. Housekeeping do an excellent job for little wage. Restaurant staff - also fabulous. Beach and bikini beach bar - lovely. Bar dated and tired but banging tunes. All in all a good two week break, relaxing and vitamin d is in ubundance. I'm very sure that it's proberbly the staff that made this holiday great but the chain needs to think about making thus 4* fresh and exciting again. Beware of rouge taxi drivers. Always check your change and if in doubt, call the police. The threat often makes the taxi drivers fess up.

Don’t take notice of individual rants on this hotel. The overwhelming view is positive. I am here at the moment and speaking to others they all say the same, friendly, smiling faces, clean rooms and all areas are continuously being tidied and scrubbed. The pool areas are great, the bars are great. The room we are in is modern and clean and everything works! Cleaned every day. The food in the main buffet is what it is.. a buffet which has most things you’d expect. It’s not the hotels best feature though but the other restaurants more than make up for it. (On the Level package) smiling faces and sunshine in a lovely setting.

This has got to be the worst experience staying at a hotel in years for us………. We booked a 5 star rated hotel & really tried to be positive. On arrival the electricity went off & when we went to shower the water went off. When I went to use room phone to ring reception the phone didn’t work (wires hanging out at wall!) The restaurant food was very disappointing, limited choice & over cooked. At some meal times the choice was cardboard pizza, overcooked pasta, cheese on toast!! & trays of stew & dried up veg. We really hoped the food would improve but to be honest it was atrocious…. Also if you book a 5 star hotel why when you arrive should you have to spend even more money to level up or be VIP?? Just to eat in some other restaurants , get nicer wine glasses & sit by a different swimming pool ( none of which was any better ….) We will never recommend or return to this hotel. I have never written a review before but felt this needed to be said.

We have just returned from a week at Melia Llana Sal Cape Verde. We can’t fault the hotel. It is comfortable and clean. The food is excellent and the staff friendly. It is situated next to the beach and about 5 minutes by taxi into Santa Maria. It is well worth a trip to Santa Maria the beach is beautiful and you can watch the boats come in with fish from the pier. By night it is lively and colourful.

The reviews for the Llana are mixed, but our experience was good. The hotel was fine, food and drink good enough and the staff were great. In fact the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel. The resort was clean and felt safe. Overall, it probably exceeded our expectations.

I have been there 4 times. And I love llana. But the best thing there is that you can relax and the entertainment team. And the best one there is Cristiano. He now how to make someone feel comfortable and feel good. He does everything for the guest there make them smile and have a good holiday.

Presently at the hotel having arrived a few days ago for 2 weeks, we normally stay at the Riu Palace in Boa Vista, thought we would try Sal and the MELIA Llana Beach hotel for a different experience, what a big mistake! The food choice and quality is absolutely dreadful, entertainment inadequate and most of the restaurants staff need a personality transplant, we asked for a room upgrade on arrival but were told it’s full, we noticed a lot of the rooms were actually empty, only to be told later it’s at 50% occupancy, standard answers, the hygiene around the pools is questionable, lilo covers are stained and dirty, to conclude, this hotel is certainly not 5 star it’s 3 star at the most, unfortunately we have another 10 days of this very poor all round hotel, we have already booked the Riu Palce for next new year and never to return here again.

Well where I start…. For my “big” birthday I just wanted to feel like I was miles away from home and stress and near a gorgeous beach. This trip was everything I could ever dream of and more. We booked directly with Melia and flew with Tui. We booked The Grand Suite on the level room 3167. But before I get into the glorious room let me tell you a story of our arrival. We pre booked a private taxi through Melia and we were greeted at the Airport by a very polite gentleman. As soon as we pulled up staff were walking outside to take our bags, letting us know these will be taken to our room. The Level offers a personal private check in. We were greeted by Viviane who was just delightful even at 9pm. We were given welcome champagne and she went through all we needed to know. She arranged our spa appointments and booked us into all the different al la carte restaurants over the 3 hotels. As mentioned our room was The Grand Suite and it didn’t disappoint. Two floors, two very very large beds, 2 bathrooms, 3 minibars, a hot tub on the balcony and best of all our own private roof top complete with two loungers, two rocking chairs and a Bali Bed!! Literally just the dream. The staff also had left us a Champagne bottle/flutes and a two welcome platters with local cheeses, meats, Olives and nuts. Each day The Level team communicated with us on WhatsApp with weather reports, confirmation of our bookings and answered any questions we had. We mostly ate breakfast in Casa Nostra and we had the most beautiful and polite staff working there. Special shout out to Sydney, Cristian, Danielson, and Patrick. All the staff literally can’t do enough for you to enjoy an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed an island tour which is highly recommended. This place is Heaven on Earth and I was so sad to leave. Thank you so much to all the staff!! Memories to last a lifetime!
