Pensión Amaiur

Great location in the old town centre with a lot of old style character way removed from so many soulless modern hotels. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They recommended good pintxos places. Despite being in a very bustling location there was little sound. Very good value.

Eating one of the best pintxos in the old town prior to check in, we had no idea our apartment was so ideally located. Situated on the second floor, the access is navigable via a rather long set of slightly quaint stairs which definitely make you feel you’ve had more than once glass of txakoli. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. Separate but private bathroom containing a bath, powerful shower, full length mirror and hairdryer. There is a separate kitchen area with tea / coffee. / cutlery / microwave and fridge freezer which can be accessed 9am-9pm. Overall, faultless. Perfect location, amazing price and friendly staff.

The location can not be beat! The rooms are small but adequate, no A/C but an oscillating fan was fine with the window open to keep us cool. Reception and housekeeping are super friendly, there is a kitchen with a refrigerator that is available to guests. Our bathroom was fine, towels replaced daily. The pension is on the third floor (no elevator) of a VERY old and VERY cool house, we went on a walking tour and they walked right by our place and mentioned that the buildings were some of the oldest in the area. Again on the location- you are right in the middle of everything- walk to the beach, walk to the fantastic pintxos bars- Roberto, the owner, has a great list of places not to miss and he is super friendly and helpful. You can also get a discounted parking ticket from him, parking is a 10' walk away. We loved it and would stay there again in a heartbeat- we LOVED San Sebastien!

Booked this pension in the old town in sen sebastian, arrived with a warm welcome from Roberto, he showed us to our room with a beautiful balcony overlooking the streets, the room was a good size and spotless, yes your bathroom is in the hall outside your room but it is all yours and very clean, all the staff we met were brilliant and we would like to thank Roberto and the team for making our holiday extra special, cannot recommend enough, can't wait to go back to stay at pension amaiur. Had a lovely Stay in Pension Amaiur on the third floor; Room 6 at the front overlooking the busy tapas street.I had asked for a quieter room and was told there were less rooms on the 3rd floor. we could hear the tapas bars until around midnight but kept our doors closed overnight and the temperature was perfect. We had wall fan which was adequate for the warmer evenings. The manager met us on arrival and carried our two heavy suitcases up to our room. We had a juliette balcony with double doors, twin beds and an ensuite bathroom in which was a very good shower.The beds were very comfortable. The maid cleaned our room daily. On the second floor was a small kitchen open 9am - 9pm but never locked. Plenty of space in the fridge for our supplies, hardly anyone used the kitchen. There was fresh cake, biscuits, tea & coffee provided for breakfast which was lovely. We walked 15 minutes from the main bus station to the Pension with 4 suitcases, although I had read that the street outside was cobbled it was flat paving stones, easy to pull our cases on. only a ten minute walk to Kursaal Theatre and similar distance to the Conchi beach. I would highly recommend.

The pension is the ideal location for action and pinxtos, the property itself is quaint, homey, and clean, and Roberto and Aihnoa are sweet and accommodating. A huge bouquet of flowers had arrived for me just prior to our arrival, and Aihnoa was so kind to put them in water in her own vase before putting them in our room. Just an FYI for seniors like us: No elevator and lots of stairs. Our adorable room was the equivalent of 4 flights up, which would not be an issue if we weren't so old!
