San Francisco Marriott Marquis Union Square

South of Market (SOMA)
Very good hotel. Consistent Marriott standards. The supplementary gifts on the executive floor of the hotel add convenience and pleasure to the journey. In particular, the timely and friendly service of Ctrip's customer service is even more commendable.

Not far from metro and in Chinatown. The area is a bit dodgy at night though. Window curtains were quite dirty. But the bed is very comfortable and the view is great. I would stay again

Beautiful hotel in a great position. Would have given 5 stars but rooms are a bit outdated and some common areas need renovating . The staff are absolutely wonderful and I especially want give a shout out to JASON,JORDAN at the front desk and LIAM who moved our luggage a number of times . They happily showed us a number of rooms till we found the one we were comfortable with for the 8 nights and were extremely obliging and attentive and warm . Much appreciated!!
The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square

San Francisco Downtown
When we reached hotel, we were informed to pay destination fee of USD25 (excl tax) per day, you may use it to make purchases in hotel. Need to request for kettle n bedroom slippers n etc. The shower tap was so confusing to use. The toiletries was not check n refill (eg: no conditioner at day 3). There is only 1 toilet roll, no spare one. The phone can only use with speaker, cannot use receiver cos there is no cord. The service is below expectation for a reputable hotel like Westin n destination fees is really a surprised.

Hotel Adagio, Autograph Collection

San Francisco Downtown
The hotel itself is nice. Inviting lobby. Isaac and Cesar at the front desk were great. Really, all of the staff I interacted with were really nice. Complimentary champagne in the lobby. Complimentary coffee station in the lobby, but no machine in the room, which is a stinker. Sometimes you just want coffee before stepping out of the room. The hotel is in what they call the Tendernob- a transitional area between Nob Hill and the Tenderloin. Things get weird quickly if you walk one block the wrong way (but walking the right way, you get to Union Square in a few minutes). I live in a city and have a high tolerance for that stuff, but someone from a more serene hometown may find it pretty jarring. Also, despite being a city dweller, I should say that I would not stay here with my family, but found it just fine for solo man travel. The Palace Hotel, another Bonvoy property, is where I stay when I visit with my family. The Adagio is cheaper, but not THAT much cheaper. All in all, this hotel is doing its absolute best with what it is in control of. Rooms are well sized and comfortable, the gym is good enough, the lobby has everything you'd want in a stylish package.

Guide to Hotels with Spa in San Francisco

San Francisco: A Fusion of Culture and Innovation

Perched on the tip of a peninsula in the U.S. state of California, San Francisco is a vibrant city celebrated for its iconic landmarks, diverse neighborhoods, and innovative spirit. Did you know that San Francisco is the birthplace of the United Nations and the Fortune Cookie? The city's multi-faceted history and vibrant ambiance make it a must-visit destination.

Journey to San Francisco

San Francisco International Airport serves as the main gateway for international visitors. Various transportation modes, including taxis, shuttles, and the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), connect the airport to the city. Visa requirements depend on your nationality, so it's crucial to check ahead.

The official currency is the U.S. Dollar, and credit cards are widely accepted. English is the main language, but San Francisco's diversity means you'll hear a myriad of languages. An interesting tradition in the city is the "Sunday's Streets" events where neighborhoods transform into car-free spaces for community activities.

Iconic Attractions in San Francisco

The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Fisherman's Wharf are quintessential San Francisco sights. Explore the culturally-rich Chinatown, or wander around the colorful Victorian homes in Haight-Ashbury. Art enthusiasts should visit the Museum of Modern Art, while nature lovers can relax in Golden Gate Park.

San Francisco's Climate and the Ideal Time to Visit

San Francisco experiences a Mediterranean climate with cool, damp winters and dry summers. The city is known for its microclimates, so temperatures can vary across neighborhoods. Typical summer temperatures range between 57°F (14°C) and 70°F (21°C). The best time to visit is from September to November. Carry layers, as San Francisco's famous fog can cause sudden temperature drops.

San Francisco Accommodation: Find Your Perfect Stay

For proximity to attractions, Hotel Zephyr at Fisherman’s Wharf is an excellent choice. If culinary exploration is a priority, Hotel Nikko in the Tenderloin district is surrounded by diverse dining options.

The HI San Francisco Downtown Hostel is a budget-friendly choice, while business travelers may opt for the Four Seasons Hotel in the Financial District for comfort and convenience. The trendy Proper Hotel offers Instagrammable interiors, and for an airport-adjacent stay, Grand Hyatt at SFO is recommended.
