We stayed here as it was a short walk from my friend’s remote location we were visiting for the wkd. In a unique village, the farmhouse has stayed loyal to its character and traditions. The double room was impeccable, the hospitality was warm and stood-out as a highlight. Both Nicky & Kevin were fascinating and very nearly became the highlights of the wkd ahead of the ‘end of summer’ celebrations we visited for! We were welcomed into the local traditions and enjoyed their lovely accommodation that focused, not just on Dartmoor/Devon but very much the village of Sampford Courtenay past and present. We both enjoyed breakfasts made predominantly from local produce - this was especially impressive. Personally, I look forward to freshly cocked breakfasts while I’m away from home - I feel I should state that I had two of, if not the best dishes to date; the cooking was perfect from every aspect. It tasted incredible. We regretted not strolling through the garden visiting the chickens that laid such fine eggs. However, the whole experience is unforgettable. A truly great stay in a very old building that had all the comforts you could wish for. A real 5⭐️

Nicky was a fabulous host, she was Helpful but not over the top. Lovely restored property and spacious bedroom. Great scones and best breakfast freshly prepared. If you want the country feel you should go, little walks around the village and old church was open

This is by far the best B&B we have stayed in. Nicky and Kevin are lovely hosts and genuinely wanted to make our stay as perfect as they could. Our room was very comfortable and quiet so we both had a good night's sleep throughout our stay. Decaf tea and coffee were provided along with homemade shortbread. We were offered a Devon cream tea when we arrived which we had to decline as we had an early evening table booked at the New Inn which is only minutes down the road. Next time we stay we'll have to arrive earlier to take Nicky up on her kind offer! Breakfast was served in a beautiful room off the main hallway with choices of cereals, homemade granola and yoghurt served with berries or compote, followed by a cooked breakfast. We were certainly set up for the day ahead. The farmhouse is located in a beautiful, unspoilt village, famous for the Prayer Book Rebellion in 1549, with countryside walks all around. We will definitely return.

This was the 4th time we have stayed @ Middletown Farmhouse and it is still as exceptional as the first. Kevin & Nikki are friendly hosts & they do the best breakfast, everything freshly prepared and plenty of choice. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. They certainly go the extra mile and I am sure we will be back next time we visit this beautiful part of Devon.

If you want somewhere that's quintessentially olde English with the best Hosts then this is the place for you! Nicky and Kevin were fabulous. Bed was sumptuous, wonderful shower area and yummy breakfast to top it all off! Thoroughly recommend a stay!

We stayed at Middletown Farmhouse for five nights while on holiday from Australia. This B&B is in the little village of Sampford Courtenay - five miles from Okehampton. The village has a pub which serves very good meals and has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Our room itself was comfortable with an ensuite with walk-in shower, a comfy bed, plenty of storage for clothes and bags. The TV though is tiny and there is only one chair in the room. There isn’t a fridge but Nicky gave us a small thermos with fresh milk each day for our cuppas. Nicky was a lovely host and assured we had everything we needed. She provided info re where to eat, how to get there and general tourism info. Breakfasts were delish - the fresh berries and the homemade conserves were yummy. Nicky also makes a pretty good cooked breakfast as well. The cottage is over 400 years old, which has its charm but also uneven floors and steep staircase. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.
