The hotel itself was clean and located in a good location with shops and bars located around it, it was also a 15 minute walk from the main ***** however be warned if you have disabilities or prams to push as this hotel is located on a incline and as a result walking back to the hotel can be a bit of a track. The hotel is also about a 40 minute walk to Portaventura World however there is a Bus Plana stop right outside the doors that has frequent buses taking you to a broad range of locations, Portaventura in about 10/15 minutes 4 times a day. The food in the hotel was a delight as both myself and Girlfriend are fussy eaters and was a bit reluctant about the food as we were staying All Inclusive but I have to say the food surprised us with there only being one evening we struggled to find something that we would eat but we settled for Pasta. The other gripe I had was the choice of beer and that there was only one to choose from and that being Amstel which I have to say gets sickening quickly in my opinion, a Spanish alternative would be appreciated. The all inclusive drinks are based on a 1 drink per token basis and you're given 1 token per person on arrival which you exchange for a plastic cup of your drink of choice which is returned to you once you return the cup. As you can imagine this can get a bit annoying as you will constantly need to walk back and forth to the bar to get another drink as opposed to being able to order 2 at a time but other than that the drink selection is okay for an all inclusive resort,be warned if you want water as unless you have your own bottle to fill up they will require a token in order for a cup to be used. The snacks throughout the day (in-between meal times) are adequate and are limited to 2 snacks per person at a time which for the most part is fine as I don't see anyone needing more than 2 snacks at a time unless you're ordering for multiple people that is. There is a Spa (indoor pool and 2X Hot Tubs) located underneath the hotel but requires a shower cap to be worn to access this so either pack your own or be prepared to pay €3 for one in the hotel, other than that the spa is free to use. There are 2 elevators in this hotel which are quite small (anymore than 2 people can be a squeeze) so people with wheelchairs and prams be warned as you may have to wait a few attempts in order to get a lift with room particularly during peak times. The entertainment for children seems to be good as they have entertainment teams that have pool parties, pool football etc during the day and shows for the kids in the evening however as a couple without children the adult entertainment was lacking, they had a magician one of the evenings, Karaoke and Spanish dancer's the next few evenings but this maybe lasts an hour or two before 11PM hits and they pack up whereas other hotel's nearby had tribute acts on and other shows going until 12AM most nights so there will be a quiet period between when the entertainment stops at

We were a bit aprehensive about holidaying here after reading all the mixed reviews. It was a last minute deal at this 3* Hotel. It's 20 minutes from the airport and that was on a coach transfer. The welcome from the Reception Staff was very warm and efficient. The lifts were both working whilst we were there but they were both a bit slow in arriving. We were only on the 3rd floor so we did walk up and down most days. The room had 2 double beds and was very clean. The room was cleaned everyday and we were given fresh towels. The meals were of a good standard and there was always a large variety to choose from. We did hear people complain about the food, but really couldn't understand why as we never found anything wrong. At breakfast the chef was on hand to make omlettes and cook fresh eggs. There were cereals, fruit juice, full cooked breakfast, cheeses, meats, breads, croissants etc. At lunchtime they would cook burgers, steak or sausage and of an evening they would cook steak and chicken. There was always a pasta dish, chips, salad, fresh cooked baguettes and a selection of cooked meats. (See photos) The pool was absolutely freezing but perhaps that was just due to it being October. The entertainment staff were coming to the end of their season but still did a great job. Simon was really friendly and took time out during the day to sit and chat with people. The Jet 2 Rep Phillip was brilliant and very knowledgeable on the area. He gave us plenty of tips even though we didn't book any trips with him. The bar staff were brilliant. Juan was so friendly and went out of his way to help people who wanted to improve their Spanish. He made such an effort with his Fancy Dress costumes all week as they were celebrating Halloween. If you like wine the ones they serve are of a good quality . The rooftop bar was closed due to it being so.late in the eason, but both the jacuzzis were on and the sunbeds, chairs and tables were out for use. The views from the rooftop terrace are beautiful. The terrace itself looked like it had recently been updated . I liked the fact that the pool area didn't open until 10am as that stopped people putting towels on the sunbeds then going out for the day. There were plenty of sunbeds out and several more stacked at the side if needed. We never struggled to get a sunbed in the sun. The temperatures were up to 27° some days and that was mid October. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance and the main town is a 10 minute walk which you can do along the shore line walkway. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would describe the hotel as being top end of its 3 stars.

My husband and I had a week away from Barcelona staying at this adults only hotel. The reception staff were all friendly but especially Bea who was extremely helpful with things to go and see whilst we were here as the weather was not the best. Rooms were really nice, clean and tidy, with comfortable beds, but the pillows not so comfy. Could have done with a table on the balcony too. Breakfast was a good choice with the option to order freshly cooked too and the staff were friendly and kept the place ticking over nicely. The spa was a bit of a disappointment as it only has steam room and sauna and a jacuzzi for 8 people, so we only used once and the games room was not available durin the week due to conference. Fortunately we had our own cards and dominoes. Overall a good visit to Salou, where we visited Cambrils, Tarragona, Reus and Sama Park out of tourist season. I am sure it would be buzzing come Easter onwards. Thanks to the Magnolia Team for the great overall service.

We have been staying at this hotel for almost 8 years now. The pool area is beautiful and the location is ideal for us. The staff are fantastic, we always get such a lovely welcome whenever we arrive. We arrived at the hotel one week after they re-opened for the season and were very surprised to find out how busy they already were. I have never seen such queues for the restaurant in all my years. They have started a new policy of personally seating everyone before returning to assist the next people in the queue, this has definitely had an affect on the growing queue system. I think they either need to add more seating in the restaurant to deal with the volume of people or extend the breakfast and dinner times, which may reduce the queue issue. If it's this busy in My, I dread to think what it will be like in July! The food was just okay, definitely not worth the 30 minute wait to get into the restaurant, and then further queues for the grilling and omelette station when you get in there! They have stopped doing the fresh orange juice, the speciality (themed) section and the food truck which is disappointing (this might have something to do with it being low season). When I was there in October, there were quite a few things broken, tiles, bathroom doors etc which is expected after a busy season but I was surprised to see that these things were still not fixed while they were closed. There have been a lot of staff changes throughout they years, it's always sad to see some of your favourite staff leave but its great to meet the new staff too. We found out that a lot of last years animation team like Dani, Arian and Julio were moved to their sister hotel across the road so we did sneak over there a few times to say hi. The hotel itself is a great and it is fantastic value for money but it's just not what it used to be. It certainly has the potential to be the number 1 family hotel in Salou again but the rooms need to be upgraded, improve the layout of the restaurant and add more tables, they should bring back the themed nights in the restaurant, bring back the special treat stall outside the restaurant when you are leaving (popcorn/candyfloss, sweets, chocolate fountain etc). It's the little extras that can make a nice stay a fantastic one.

Where do I start….We visited El Paso around 9 years ago prior to having children with my family and we all had an excellent holiday! So I didn’t have any apprehensions about booking early this year to take my 2 children (3 & 1) . As it got closer to the time I saw some reviews and started to panic as we hadn’t had a bad word to say about the hotel but wondered had it gone down hill?? Needless to say we went with an open mind and there was no need for any worry at all!! One of the only reasons I haven’t given 5 stars was the check in. We arrived at 11am and check in took my husband around an hour (I think this was more other people maybe faffing around a bit as when he actually got to the counter he was there 5 minutes and it was done) but it took us 3 separate occasions of going up to ask if the room was ready at 3pm before we could actually get in. There are lockers you can put you’re luggage in for €10 but there was no way ours would of fit in 1 so we didn’t fancy spending €20 !! So we hung around the reception for 4 hours (a beautiful reception) but with 2 children we found we were having to juggle one person staying with the luggage and the other entertaining the children. Check in aside the rest of the holiday was all we could of asked for! Room : We had requested a quiet room and we had been put the other side of the pool away from all the bars which was perfect…the room was beautiful. Bunk beds for our 3year old which he loved (although the top bunk is not safe for a younger child as the side very easily comes off!) but this didn’t effect us as we had a cot for our 1 year old. The room has everything you would need for a holiday..storage, bathroom, comfy bed and a balcony. The only downside was there were a few schools visiting when we were there and they had placed them in the same block as us so it definatley wasn’t a quiet room ! You could hear the teachers trying to keep them quiet at 11pm at night but it’s not great when you have young children trying to sleep…maybe the hotel should have a separate block if they know they are going to have a lot of school children in??? Pool : the pool is a absolutley huge and very clean. The water is a perfect crystal blue! The pirate shop was a firm favourite for our little boy. Although they are a little strict with allowing sunglasses in the pool (you need them as it’s so bright haha!) the lifeguards make you feel very safe. There is a vast area of sand around the pool which is perfect for the children to play in….(actually made ours happy enough that he thought he’d been to the beach so we didn’t have to venture to Salou!) Food : I saw a lot of reviews with people complaining about the food. We didn’t have a problem at all. Yes it can be samey, but considering they have such a large demographic to cater for I think they do very well with what they do have! You can always find something to eat. It’s typical all inclusive food. When you check in they give you a QR CODE to select a time fo

We stayed a week in a 4th floor two bed apartment which was very clean, well equipped , with pool view large balcony and had its own boiler supplied hot water . The apartments are a bit dated inside and out and the exterior could do with smartening up but the pool and sunbathing area are very well kept and clean . When we stayed there were plenty of available sunbeds . We did see the pool attendant reluctantly removing towels from reserved sunbeds first thing in the morning after waiting for a while . This seems reasonable .. he is only doing what he’s been asked to do by owners . One slightly inconvenient thing is that there are no toilets around the pool area , so you have to go back to the apartment . The apartments are in the “town” area rather than the busy “tourist area” at the other end of the beach . Although there are plenty of local cafes , supermarkets and bars in the area . The apartments are about a fifteen min walk from the beach . Be aware that two sunbeds and a parasol is €25 a day . I had read negative comments about staff in reception , but I found them helpful and friendly . Just because someone doesn’t have a great command of English doesn’t make them “rude and unfriendly “. The staff were helpful in getting a parasol for the hot balcony and were accommodating when we wanted a late check out on our apartment ( albeit with a small charge )

A little bit of luck was sprinkled onto our major road trip to Spain, because finding this gem online made an amazing two days for our family! We were actually scheduled for one night but were so tickled pink that we extended another night. We came at the right time because the price was on point and it wasn't too busy. This could easily be a five star place if there was attention to detail. By that, I can think of a few main points during our stay that just need to be addressed...1) instead of the hassle and delay at checkout, it would have been more customer friendly to have us pay the tourist tax fee for the extra day when we extended our stay and paid for it at check-in. (2.) The pool area is beautiful and obviously takes a lot of time and expense, but it was very obvious that the tile work of the pool needs to be fixed and repaired in many areas. (3) as a tourist, the trash system was very unclear. There were possibilities to separate the glass from the regular trash in some areas on the grounds, but otherwise it looked like everything was just regular trash.....with there being so much plastic trash there should be the yellow container to dispose of plastic trash. With this points, I do want to express that this was a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend it to others. I enjoyed the morning workout/dance class that was offered, the playground and children's activities are amazing, pool area was very enjoyable and we appreciate that there was a lifeguard, the view from our room, amenities, easy parking, restaurant on site was appealing (but we cooked in our apartment instead). Thank you for an enjoyable experience near the Mediterranean!

GGuest UserOur family visited Salou in August and stayed in 2 apartments in Ona Suites. The apartments were clean and functional . Housekeeping came in during week to change towels and general tidy. Pool was very clean with life guard on duty all day. You can rent sunbeds for a small charge , would be good if there were umbrellas to rent too (might be something to consider) . The reception staff especially Aya was friendly and professional . Arranged late check out for a small fee as our flight was evening time . Close to beach and all the shops and supermarkets. Great location , clean , friendly reception staff . Will definitely be back .

Having seen this hotel whilst walking past on a previous holiday and reading the glowing reviews, we booked a 10 night stay at Olympus Palace and overall we had a great time. There are some huge pros, and unfortunately some cons to this hotel (as there is normally with any) and I'll try to list them all here. The Pros: Cleanliness: The hotel is IMMACULATE. I don't think I saw a speck of dust or dirt throughout my entire stay, they even mop the outside walkway every morning! Rooms are refreshed daily with clean bedding, fresh towels, bin emptied, floor mopped etc, and they do a fab job with this. Entertainment: There is a massive programme of various entertainment with something for everyone. Staff: All of the staff are so polite, friendly and welcoming. Check-in was a breeze, and they even let us have breakfast early on our check-out day as our coach was picking us up at 8am. They were also very helpful with arranging taxis and I'm certain that if we had needed anything else, they'd have been more than happy to help. Location: The location is AMAZING. Right on a main ***** of bars, restaurants and shops. Small supermarket opposite the hotel entrance and walk an extra 20 seconds for the larger MichaelAngelo supermarket which has everything. If you have kids, there's a mini fun park with games and rides open every evening right opposite the hotel and a large arcade next door. In-hotel Bars: The rooftop bar is gorgeous and amazing to sit at day or night. There's also a downstairs bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff again, wonderful at both. In-Room TV: TV with plenty of international channels. HUGE TIP: If you come across a film or TV show that you know is originally in English, use the little speech bubble button on the remote and select Original Language and you'll get it in English - would be great to have known this at the start of our hol as it was rainy for a few days. The Cons (some are of course subjective) Noise (not an issue for us, but might be for you): If you prefer a quiet hotel, you will need to book a pool view room. Our room overlooked the main street which was no issue for us as we like the buzz (and people watching) but it is very loud with the hubbub of hundreds of people, repetitive noises from the arcade, the pub quiz/bingo across the road and the mini park until well after midnight. Food: We found the food to be lacklustre. This is of course subjective and there were some great options from time to time. Most nights it was mainly seafood dishes, some meat in a light sauce and some kind of out-there dishes like pigs feet. However, the cooked-to-order bit always has something tasty on like steak, tiger prawns, grilled chicken thighs etc. It should be noted that like most half/full board places, drinks aren't included with lunch or dinner. At breakfast, however, there is free fruit juice, water and champagne. Unfortunately on my last day, I was served half raw sausages. Thankfully they were very cle

CCompass61668255901Lovely stay in this hotel. Location is right in the centre of everything but yet not too loud. It’s spotless clean, the lobby and pools are really nicely decorated and maintained. Meals are buffet style, breakfast is lovely and you can choose whether you want lunch or dinner as. Half board option. I found the food at lunch was better than at dinner and it’s calmer as most people have dinner there instead. The rooms are lovely and spacious with everything you need. Linen and towel changes daily. Fridge and aircon etc. you can rent wheelchairs from several companies is that deliver to the hotel if needed. There are four pools, roof top for adults, a smaller pool for people over 12 years and then the large family pool with jacuzzi and pool side bar that serves food and then there’s a separate pool for small children. It’s a good system as you aren’t around loads of kids all the time, easy to get sun beds. It’s a great stay. Comments about the food, it’s a buffet style not a Michelin star so I don’t understand what people are expecting, there’s about 7/8 choices of dinner, desserts, fruit and salads. You’d want to be very fussy not to find something you’d like. Drinks are not included in the price but they serve to the table and you can pay by card no problem. Breakfast is 7.45-10.30 lunch is 12-3.45 and dinner is 7.30-10pm. We rented a car from Barcelona airport which is about an hours drive or Reus airport is 20 minutes. Parking around the area is very hard to get and that’s pretty much everywhere in salou

MMarc GaldonFerrerGreat option to stay if you want to visit Port Aventura amusement park. Staying for the night at the hotel will grant you access to the park on both days, the check-in and the check-out. Rooms are clean and comfortable, for a good rest after spending the day at the park. The swimming pool is also amazing, big and beautiful, it is an adventure in itself. Only issue is the service: you can feel that the staff do their best, however during peak season, they are so busy that for sure you will have to line up in order to get anything done. They are moving ahead and making moves for automatic self-service processes: like self- check out, but still is not enough. You gotta then have some patience and wait until your turn comes.

Arrived here September 14th 2024 all inclusive at approximately 8.30 pm. Check-in was quick and easy. The reception girls told us our room number but didn't tell us how to get to it. However we were on the first floor (163), big room with two double beds, one desk with a chair and a mini bar chargeable, free safe in the wardrobe but it's on the floor ! why only one bedside table with the phone on?, Also TV with only Sky news in English , Rooms cleaned everyday. Pool towels charged at €2 with refundable €15 deposits. As we were AI there is a difference with what you get, beer in a coke cola glass, spirits in a coke cola glass. Half board gets pint glass and proper glass for spirits. On the subject of glasses during day time around the pool times it's paper cups for drinks, I think this hotel has shares in coke cola. You can buy a large plastic glass for €1 provided they don't run out. 😯. Another thing the hotel needs to do is get rid of that awful , hypnotic music that drives you mad... We did get to use the adult only roof top pool and Jacuzzi but the music is still up there.😡. You can't have AI service up there it's down 6 floors in the lift to the pool bar. Food in the dining room is average with usual foods We never went hungry and found something every meal, it was usually fairly hot and replenished regularly there is an app booking system but we didn't seem to have to use it being AI, They did run out of White wine and vodka at the end of the week. All in all not a bad place, it can be noisy with kids running in the corridors and rooms you can hear the scraping of chairs upstairs. We would not return to this hotel ..

GGuest UserIn general the hotel was nice, we arrived and it was quiet. We visited the spa which was nice and the hotel is in a great location (about a 5 minute walk from the beach front) and 25 minutes from the theme park. Food- the food in the restaurant was decent but quite repetitive. However, having said that there was always something to eat. The only downside here at the restaurant was the waiters took a long time to ask us what drinks we wanted, sometimes we would be half way through before being approached. Also, there should be a snack bar by the pool which is open to all inclusive guests however this wasn’t open at all during our stay which was disappointing as we liked to go for walks, so if we missed lunch we had to wait until 7.30 for dinner. Bar - the two male servers were brilliant. Very attentive, friendly and quick. There is a good selection of local spirits however, I was on the all inclusive and when I asked there was only one cocktail available plus sangria, there are more available but you have to pay. The only downside was I had an issue which I raised with reception who maybe through a language barrier didn’t really acknowledge. I have been here before, 8 years ago and the hotel itself has drastically improved. It does feel very spa like with the music and decor. The only issue we had was on our last night there must have been a late arrival and we could hear everything in the corridor and above which meant we couldn’t sleep until 4pm.

GGuest UserI'm usually quite fussy with cleanliness and although there were places for improvement the rooms was very pleasant and perfect for myself and 10 year old daughter. We were so pleased to have a double bed each. I desperately want to know which mattresses they use, I suffer with back problems but while at the hotel these were minimal, they were a lovely firm foam, surprisingly comfortable, I wish I'd taken a picture or looked at the brand! The plug on the bathroom sink was broken so the drain smell was a bit awful, I kept a soap filled sponge over it or it smelled eggy. There were hand soap, shower gel and shampoo provided, the hairdryer though small, worked well and the air conditioning was amazing, it cooled the room so well. The noise is a bit of an issue as mentioned in other reviews, the chairs and furniture dragging on the floors especially and even with the balcony door closed, it sounded like a window was slightly open. We both got a very good night's sleep though despite the noise because the entertainment finished by 11pm things settled around 12am. We stayed on the 5th floor over looking the pool. Food was awful for us on the first night, however breakfast there is something for everyone, and the following evening meals I myself found delicious. My daughter consumed a lot of chips bit she's a very fussy eater. She enjoyed the pasta most evenings and the desserts - especially the rice pudding, that is a stunning dish! The stew like dishes I throughly enjoyed. The Spa wasn't up to much and you have to buy a swimming cap to enter which isn't made very clear until you are told at €3 each. Best tips: queue for dinner at 6:45pm, there are very long queues some nights. Get to the pool reasonably early, the beds get taken quickly if they're in the sun. Use the stairs to come down and the lifts to go up if you can. The lifts can get very busy and while they didn't break down while we were there, they do feel like a bit of a death trap! They don't stop closing if you're in the way either. Location wise, this hotel is just fab. Its a 10 minute walk to portaventura and ferrari land, a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach and its far enough away from the main ***** to stay away from the noise. We went at the end of October so probably out of season so maybe this helped with the noise. Overall pleasant, comfortable and I would stay again.

We had a great stay at Hotel Best Los Angeles in Salou. 11 of us stayed. We contacted them before-hand and they ensured that the majority of us were all on the same floor. Service is it’s only let down. We were all inclusive and wore bands but still had to show a piece of paper at the restaurant stating we were all inclusive. We often had to go looking for someone at the restaurant so that we could order some drinks and when we did get someone, we were often told it was someone else’s section and they couldn’t provide us with drinks. The bar at the pool was also not always the best. The servers were all really nice but often ignored you for a long time when you were standing waiting to be served. Rooms were very clean however the drains in our room were a bit smelly. We would reported this a couple of times and the cleaners would be sent up immediately. The room itself was spacious but just not enough storage space and 2 of our family of 3 had to live out of a suitcase while the other occupied the whole wardrobe. Diego, the lifeguard, was incredible. And so good with the kids. He was so friendly to everyone by the pool and encouraged people to get involved with the pool-side activities. He would always welcome us in the morning. My little boy enjoyed seeing him each day. Vanshika and Bella the entertainers were also fantastic and were very persuasive and getting you up and involved in the activities. They were both really fun and would always find some common ground to chat about with you. Great place to stay.

I'm a teacher just back from Hotel St. Monica Playa with a school trip - I got food poisoning there form the restaurant - most likely from the pork stew, carved turkey ( which looked old and frazzled) or sliced kabab meat. Most of this was fairly inedible but I didn't feel it would do any harm. The hotel has hundreds of Kids -mostly Spanish groups running around uncontrolled and unsupervised - partying in their rooms which have wafer thin walls. We supervised our group at all times and patrolled corridors at bed time. We were the only group who did this. The night I was sick there were 4 kids in the room next to me going crazy till 3am. I asked reception for help in controlling the noise - he said he'd send someone but didn't bother. I also asked for paracetamol and they didn't have any. The pool closed at 6pm, meaning our pupils could not have a swim after their day trips. This is clearly deliberate as they know most of the groups are out during the day. The bar closed at midnight sharp. The vending machines were completely sold out of drinks - pupils had no access to water at night.

My 3 teens & I had a great week here in July. The staff are excellent, the food is excellent, It's fun, It's very clean, all services are great. Location and proximity to everything you'll want to see in Salou is great. But it was after we got back to Ireland that I was even more deeply impressed by the staff. It turned out that my daughter had left her cuddly toy behind when we left. I rang & emailed the hotel and they were brilliant. They emailed me within 24hrs that they had found Moo Cow and had it in safe storage! And they helped with packaging it & attaching the UPS label that I subsequently emailed to them. Special mention goes to reception staff, who couldn't have been more helpful and understanding of our plight. They totally got it and went that bit extra - they all do. Thank you Salou Park Resort 1 for a really memorable holiday.
