We LOVED this place. I’d been looking for a lodge in a national park in Quebec and finally found this place. So I tailored our whole trip around our stay here so it is a good job it was worth it! It’s a lot nicer and more upmarket than I’d expected. The rooms are great, small but way more practical and functional than some of the huge ones we stayed in elsewhere. As English speakers it was a bit intimidating to start with as we were picked up in a mini bus with everyone speaking french. When we arrived we were given a tour, and an explanation of how things were run and had time for a short walk before dinner which is taken communally. The food was great and they were very good about gluten free options, there were also vegetarians and a gluten and lactose intolerant guest while we were there, all catered for no problem. We mainly did guided activities as they worked for us, guides great and very knowledgable. The setting is stunning and everything is very relaxed, other guests friendly and most did speak English, thankfully. So we had a brilliant stay, would highly recommend visiting if you can.

Amazing scenery, beautiful lodge, friendly and knowledgeable guides and great hikes. The food was also spectacular! It was a long drive for us but well worth it. The park is a real gem, with stunning scenery (gorgeous alpine views, moose sightings, beautiful waterfalls, a variety of trails, an eagle landing on a salmon stream and trying to pick up a fish in its talons right in front of us....). We also got to swim in a waterfall, try out electric mountain bikes and go in the sauna and hot tub. It was interesting to sit with an international crowd each night and share stories and insights. Important to know that most of the staff and patrons speak primarily French, but most are more than happy to translate (google translate was of no help as this lodge has no internet/wifi/etc). The guided hikes make the experience more interesting as they provide additional information about history, flora and fauna, but you can also go off on your own. This can be a very active trip, or you can read a book in a chair in the sun with a stunning mountain vista. The Auberge was incredibly clean, and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment is that the Auberge is in a part of the park that has less of the truly alpine summits, some will need to make another trip to the park to see Mt Albert, etc.

We were disappointed with the condition of the building. It needs some attention. Outside rotting around the windows. Some furniture needs some attention. Food was acceptable. Salmon was overcooked and dry. The guides were good except for Gabriel. He should not be there. I asked to use the electric bike and he said No because Dinner was in 2 hours. I had plenty of time to use it. He has an attitude problem. It was nice to be able to eat outside on the patio watching the waterfall. Thank you to the director for making it happen. I think location by far is the most beautiful I ever seen however attention to details is not there for the price you pay to stay there.
