My third visit here will be my last. The formerly family owned and cared for hotel on the Gulf was sold to the Tradewinds over a year ago. Now it’s being remodeled. That’s ok. The noise was tolerable. The state of the room we were proffered was second rate. I cleaned the HVAC grid myself in the shower. Black dust fur washed out of it. Then the air filter was furry too. I went to Walmart and changed that out myself. The AC blew cold but did nothing to remove humidity. Our clothes remained damp. Our bedding was damp all week. For $350 a night? On the way out at checkout I was informed of the additional $17/ day parking charge. So long Alden. We will try Beachcomber just north of the Alden or Coral Reef next door next time. Less $.More service.

The Bad After reading recent reviews stating there was construction on the property I decided to call to book my ocean front suite. The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and assured me that the renovations would be complete and we would get an ocean front room. This call took place on April 16th and our reservations were for April 29th through May 2. On 4/21/22 I called back to see if it was possible to get a ground level room and was informed by the gentleman on the phone that the ocean front rooms would not be available and offered me a pool side room which was cheaper obviously but not discounted. I reluctantly kept the room but was told I would get a preference to where I wanted to be due to the troubles. When we arrived the room we received was actually in the complete opposite spot of my request. This was my 4th stay at Alden Suites and I will have to say that since the Tradewinds buyout the service has definitely decreased. and the steep price increase for the dated facility before the remodel makes this property overpriced The Good Location is amazing. The bar is great and the bartenders even better. walking distance to so man things

I secured my reservation for the Alden in March 2022 paying a one night deposit. We are previous guests and I’ve always enjoyed our time there. They were purchased by Tradewinds recently and I wondered how the resort would be affected. The day we were scheduled to arrive I got a call from Chris at the Alden front desk advising me the duty construction delays our room would not be the type of room we had reserved. He offered me two options one at the Alden but it was not oceanfront or at one of their sister properties Rum Fish next-door. I was not happy about the change and some friends of ours had also sent a gift to be delivered to us when we got to the room. After much discussion we decided to stay at RumFish because of the ocean view room. Chris helped make this change. When we got to the room much tour surprise the gift of gorgeous flowers was waiting inside the room. The room was modern and very appealing. RumFish has an adult pool and a lovely beach pool area that allows children as well. The resort fee that they charged was waived due to the last minute change. The resort fee at the RumFish covers your parking and your cabana which I feel is a definite bargain. When we were checking out Chris was at the front desk of RumFish. I want to thank him for making sure our transition was smooth, making sure the flowers that were sent to us were in the proper room and going the extra mile to help us have a good stay. We will definitely stay at RumFish again and are waiting to see how remodeling and everything turns out at the Alden. Due to Chris’ professionalism and care we remain customers of the Tradewind’s resort family.

We will never go back there. Our room had so many problems such as water leaking from water heater , no A C the rooms has two beds places so you have to climb over the end of the beds to get into bed. Great location the rest was horrible.

I booked an oceanfront room with an oversized balcony for a family trip to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I received no email notification about renovations going on. When we arrived, we were informed that there were no ocean view suites available. Our room was adequate, but definitely in need of a renovation 🤣 Then the website stated there was a fitness center there. No, they had the use of a fitness center a mile away. Also stated that beach cabanas were included with our stay. Nope, $30.00 per day. In defense of the Alden Suites, they offered us 20% off our stay and a 75.00 gift card.

We have been going the first week in October for the past several years. We really enjoyed our stay and the whole feeling of the resort. We looked at returning again this year for the same time, but they informed us that the room was going to be over $150 more. We really enjoyed the resort and all that it had to offer but the new price isn't worth it. We will be looking elsewhere for our birthdays.

The Alden Suites resort features two pools literally just outside the room as well as a short two minute walk to the beach. Although in a heavily commercial district, the street noise does not distract from a quiet time within the room. A laundry is on site so that one can wash and dry clothes as needed. Room service was somewhat less than desired since they missed my room on at least one day. Parking is convenient for guests, however visitors may have a difficult time in this area.

We booked 3 deluxe Gulf front suites for March of 2022 and I received an email today that we were downgraded to poolside rooms. I was told that they are under construction and there are no rooms available with a gulf view for the days we are there. Construction has taken longer than expected, then why was I able to book those rooms 6 weeks ago, now to be disappointed. It's taken the excitement out of our trip and I am nervous there will be more surprises that will affect my family vacation when we arrive.

We stayed here in mid December. Got a fantastic deal through Southwest Vacations. Has 2 pools, a hot tub, right on the beach with a bar at the entrance. Great Location, plenty of beach bars to walks to. Kids had a fantastic time. The suite itself was comfortable. We were on the 5th floor. The beds were comfy, the kitchen living room made it so everyone wasnt on top of each other. The balcony was small overlooking the deeper pool. Highly recommend early to mid December before it gets too crowded. Would stay again..
