During my one-month trip to New Zealand, I stayed at the only hotel that had a quilt cover instead of a ”sandwich quilt” made of sheets. What a surprise. I'm not used to the ”sandwich” quilts made of sheets in Australia and New Zealand. I always feel that the quilt in the middle is dirty, and it's inevitable that it will get scratched when it's wrapped in sheets. The hotel is very clean, and the bed in the twin room is also very large, unlike many twin rooms where the beds are only 0.8-0.9 meters wide, so you have to be careful when turning over.

The motel hotel is clean and relatively new. Breakfast is not included. I ordered breakfast for NZD 20 per person. The portion is quite large. I just forgot to ask why the child was also charged NZD 20?

It is the best hotel I have stayed in New Zealand. No one! ! Although the location is not in the city center, it is not a problem because they are a paradise so they should stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city! ! And they are not far from the middle area, right? ? Friends who drive really recommend staying here. It takes only eight or nine minutes to drive to the center for dinner. And it’s a really beautiful place. Opposite the room is a large piece of clean grass with small animals on it, which are very cute! ! And they are all clean? How is it done? ? The lady boss is really super nice and gentle, one of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen! And it's very sweet to send a bottle of milk to make coffee! ! We lived in two of us and booked an apartment. As a result, we have two beds for three people. It is a large and clean place and a kitchen for cooking. Each room is like a small single-family house. lovely! It's a pity that we only stayed for one night. If we have a chance in the future, we must stay here for a few more days. I really like it. The small town of Rotorua is really a clear stream in Auckland. Love this town very much! Love this hotel! ! !

This hotel has a good environment and good hygiene. The boss is Chinese, so he takes every detail into consideration. The Bannick salmon in the morning was delicious. It's a 5-minute drive from the town center. You can call a taxi for SGD 20. The only problem is that the room rates are quite high compared to other hotels in town. You can consider it if you are not short of money, and the experience is good.

The so-called breakfast was too poor. It only consisted of two slices of bread, two cans of yogurt, a 200ml box of milk, and a few jams. They were placed in the room on the day of check-in. The key is that the yogurt and milk were not placed in the refrigerator. The so-called motel hot springs are just two tiled pools from the 1970s in China.

The place is great. However the downside is the there is only 1 bathroom. If you stay at the place in a group, then showering will take ages as you hv to share the 1 bathroom. It would also be good to have a toilet bidet.

Children are not allowed, only 16 years old and above can be accommodated! Suitable for honeymoon couples! In New Zealand, don't think about breaking the rules of soft grinding and hard foaming. It is a rule not to allow children under the age of 16 to stay!

The hotel used to be a private mansion with every detail. The hotel is facing Lake Rotorua, the room has a wide view, five minutes drive from the skyline and ten minutes from the downtown. The hotel has its own paddock, where horses and sheep graze leisurely on the slopes. Breakfast can be cooked to order, and the lamb in the kiwi breakfast is very good. It was very comfortable to take a walk in the courtyard after eating breakfast. The hotel staff was warm and considerate. Some regrets were that because of the self-service on the skyline, I didn't try the dinner at the hotel. I have a chance to try it next time. There is a study room on the second floor of the hotel. There is a 200-page world map on the table. It has been turned over and confirmed that there is no less in China.

GGuest UserThe upstairs and downstairs have good space, and there is a yard outside, which is very comfortable and convenient for parking. When we came, it was off-season and there were not many people. It happened to be Monday when the restaurant was closed, so we went to a nearby supermarket to buy some food. It is not in the city center, but it is quiet and peaceful, suitable for a lakeside vacation.
HHelloI love this hotel.
To be honest, I didn’t expect much when it comes to old and vintage hotel. But when I entered the hotel, I found the hotel is quite special and unique. Yes, it’s old and vintage but it is also well-maintained.
For the room, I like it because it has big windows including bathroom and the sunshine can get through.
For the location, I like it because it is so close to the central bus stop, Eatery Streets and Polynesian Spa. Because I don’t drive so location is very important to me.
Like many other places in NZ, this hotel seems to be short staffed too. But the staff still did the best to serve. They are nice and friendly.
I wish I could stay in the hotels for a few more couples and enjoyed the unique atmosphere there. I would stay again if ever I go to Rotorua.
NNur RuzannaVery clean, has everything you need. Wasn’t able to check in by 630pm, called them in advance to inform and arranged for a self check in. Emily was very kind, explained the steps over the phone, and texted again just as a reminder. Self check in was very easy and convenient. Instructions were attached with the key, documents were neatly placed in the room.
Only downside was it wasn’t very close to the supermarket/shops, probably about 15min walk, but it was raining so took us 20min. Driving would have been better.
Please note there’s no lift, so we had to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor.
Overall, would come back again, it was still a great stay!
IIreneI booked for 2 adults and 2 children and clearly had confirmation of 2 children and 2 adults. Called twice 2 days before our trip. The reception male did not know what I was talking about could not find booking then said it was only for 2 adults. He then said he will note down when I explained I booked for 4. Then called again couple of hours before checkin and went through the same thing waslooking forward to relax and they found it hard again to look for my booking and mentioned 2 adults and not including my 2 kids. The hotel was ok and tv channels not enough just 1 movie 1 sports channel. Menu was not really goo VERY EXPENSIVE but food was not okay. Asked for another jug of cold water as we were really thirsty but the lady said they can't provide a JUG of water so ended up organizing uber. Staff need to be abit more upto date with everything etc..
Rreturn visitorOutward appearance is good, but on closer Inspection it is shabby, once was high class accommodation but now cushions and curtains dirty. Unidentified scraps on bed linen and bathroom had very visible mould. The bath is a great size with headrest, heated floor and good water pressure. Our room had a great view of the lake, but people walking past windows, no real privacy. Good size room interesting room layout.
AAnonymous UserTo be honest nothing bad about this hotel as others mentioned. The staff manager at the front desk is super nice and helped with all sorts of request. Room is in good but not luxury condition which is kind of expected. Pool is closed.
AAnnM.I recently stayed at Arawa Park Hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent—close to Rotorua’s main attractions and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
The room was spacious, clean, and featured large, comfortable beds. Considering the affordable price, it’s excellent value for money and ideal for anyone looking for a comfortable, budget-friendly stay.
The staff were attentive and friendly, even offering to heat up meals for guests—a thoughtful touch that added convenience. I also appreciated their focus on security, as they took note of my car’s plate number during check-in.
I noticed that the hotel has washing machines and laundry facilities, which could be very useful for longer stays. While I didn’t ask if these are free for guests to use, it’s great to see such amenities available. Clearer information about their usage would be helpful.
One downside was the lack of adaptors in the room, which made charging devices a little inconvenient. Adding adaptors or universal outlets would greatly improve the overall experience for guests.
Overall, Arawa Park Hotel is an excellent choice for a comfortable and affordable stay in Rotorua. With minor tweaks like providing adaptors and clearer communication about amenities, it could be even better.
AAnonymous UserThe room was newly renovated, the bed was big, but the decoration smelled very strong. I stayed for two nights. It was the off-season, the hotel occupancy rate was very low, but the hotel service attitude was average. The location was convenient, there were many restaurants around, and it was very close to the hot springs. The hotel was partially renovated, and the gym was not open. Ctrip customer service was very good.
GGuest UserThe kitchen was impressive (huge, clean, well equipped), the room was warm (there's a heater) and the shared bathroom and toilets were clean, though the sinks are a bit small but still usable.
The curtains are a bit see-through, it won't be making the room completely dark (+ light from the corridor through the door) but it isn't too bad. If you're sensitive to noises, we could hear a bit of traffic in the evening but not so much at night. Since we're in june, the traffic ain't much and the neighborhood was overall really calm.
SSyhui HoStrategically located at the city center, this place offers great convenience to a lot of restaurants nearby. The infamous Polynesian spa is within walking distance (about 5 minutes walk) and other attractions such as government gardens, sulphur point, lake Rotorua etc. are within walking distance. We got a double room for more privacy, basic amenities are available but I do not think there is a hairdryer (I brought mine anyway) so prepare one if you were to stay here.
