The Clothiers Arms

Visited on bank holiday Monday and was seated straight away. Considering how busy the pub was, the food came out in reasonable time and was delicious! The portion sizes were great, definitely got our monies worth! The atmosphere was good, was very calm in the restaurant.

Lovely place warn comfortable rooms en-suite. Cannot fault anything. Food fantastic. Best fish and chips since Gok Kwan's family chippy in Whetstone Many years ago. Special mention for Niall who played the perfect host and also Karena who initially booked us in and was most helpful. All the staff were good and deserve an accolade. Thankyou, best 3 days we have had in a long time!

Only stayed the one night as down for the football, but it was still a great experience. Staff, especially the manager, were excellent, the breakfast was great and the location is ideal for both driving and the train station. Really lively pub atmosphere too, quite rare these days.

Just had a fantastic Christmas meal with friends this evening. I had the soup as a starter which was really tasty, followed by the turkey. Every part of the main was well cooked and full of flavour and great presentation. Service was excellent with the staff being very attentive. It showed that they really enjoy their job and want to make sure that guests have a great time. Thank you for a lovely evening and merry Christmas to you all.

We were a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed their food. The portions were all hearty and tasty and the service was good too. Apparently the homemade curry was amazing and so were the burgers. It’s a busy local pub near to the centre of Stroud. Thank you.

Forget about having a relaxing holiday here. You won't be able to have peace. From our room we could hear all day constant laundry noises and repetitive beeps from machines next door. They said they had tumble dryers right behind the bed!! (as you can see in that door on the image). I had to go down from my room (tired after travelling) and ask them to stop the noise. They said they would. The noise was still going on at 6pm. I had to go down again and ask them one more time. There was no manager on site (the staff told me themselves). A total disaster and nightmare. Holidays ruined. Besides, the floor of the room was so sticky that we had to put towels on the floor to walk on them and the cutlery for breakfast looked disgusting!

Nice breakfast, room was at top towards the back so quiet for a pub or hotel room. Staff were friendly and helpful. So good all round.

Have stayed here often, usually rooms above bar. This time in an annex at the rear of the pub-- surprisingly not quieter--- loud bangs, woken at 1.30 a.m., locks rattling, and continued on and off all night. such a shame as rooms are very clean and staff lovely.

Thought was very poor. Room not up to standard. No ensuite. Bathroom dated cold and floor wet. Across corridor. Doir sticks so had to bang - not good during night. No heat in towel rail so towels remain damp. Very grey looking towels- supposed to be white Poor selection at breakfast Generally a very poor experience. Not worth the price
