Lovely old hotel within 20 mins walking distance from the old town, central market, bus station, and train station. This hotel is near a Lido restaurant that opens at 10am, the Red Line tram stations, bus stops, KGB museum. Art Nouveau district is nearer to here than old town . Loving the antique vibes. The room has creaky floor boards, but room is clean. Bathroom has basic toiletries and hair dryer. Bed mattress is firm. Bedsheets are very clean and towels are changed daily. Thanks to the friendly staff who are fast to respond. You can borrow a kettle from the reception if you need to boil hot water. Bar doesn’t open past 10pm, but you can have a drink there during the day. Restaurant was undergoing renovation when I was there. The building contains some rental apartments and companies, and you can hear sounds from the corridor (there are public WC along each corridor). This place is recommended for people who appreciate the old school vibes and don’t mind the noise of people walking past.

We arrived early but couldn't check in yet. Luckily, the hotel offered a free luggage storage service, which was very helpful. The hotel environment is lovely, and there are many Instagram-worthy spots nearby. They also serve breakfast, though we didn't try it, so I can't comment on the taste. It's also conveniently located near a bus stop, which is great if you need to catch an early bus – just a 5-10 minute walk.

This hotel was incredibly convenient, located just behind the Blackhead House in the Old Town, and very close to the airport bus stop. The room was clean, and all the front desk staff were so kind, making our stay very pleasant. I'd love to stay here again if I have the chance!

The room was clean and well located, approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the heart of the city centre. The only negative was that the air conditioning/heating was not working during my stay, but the receptionist gave me an electric heater which mostly made up for it. Considering the temperature was -15° during my stay, I was not too cold in my room.

Nice rooms, very clean, there is also a spacious common area with kitchen. The hotel is in a basement, but it is facing an internal garden, so it is not an issue. It’s a self check in place, but the owner is super responsive via phone and chat. I could leave my bag in a storage room (although unattended). Great choice for this price! Recommended.

It is not inconvenient to walk from Riga station for less than 30 minutes and about 20 minutes from the city center Basically a hotel that does not contact the staff You can leave your luggage at a series hotel in the city center. I'm relieved that the procedure will be notified by email. The email includes security codes and how to pick up the keys when entering the hotel. It's okay if you do the explanation as it's written in a concise and easy-to-understand manner. The staff who just met were friendly and opened the door There was a mysterious battan battan sound, whether it was the sound of opening and closing the doors of other rooms. I was a little scared because it was so quiet that I wondered if there were other people staying. Still the room is clean and spacious and satisfied Thank you very much.

Slap bang in the middle of Rīga, everything is walking distance, about 15 minutes tops to either direction and all the art nouveau architecture you could desire! Furthest walk was to the Holy Trinity Church, which you have to go over the bridge, but totally worth it. This hotel is mainly closest to the Orthadox church near a huge park. Breakfast has a variety, even if you're vegan too! Was impressed that you can have plant based milk hot coffees (but machine is very slow and temperamental). Would be nice to have had some vegan sausages, but you won't go hungry. The room I had was lush, very comfortable bedding, just a shame about the view, was facing the inside of the building and carpark. I would say for a 5 star hotel, coffee facilities could have been better, they were very basic, whereas other European 5 star hotels usually have a Nespresso machine or similar. Staff very friendly and accommodating of all hours of day and night!

The location was good, most tourist spots were within walking distance and there was a shopping mall nearby, so it was convenient. The room was clean and the check-in and check-out service was also good.

I usually don't bother writing reviews, but this place had quite a few things to complain about. **Location:** It's a bit of a distance from the old town, about a 15-minute walk. However, it's conveniently located right next to a large shopping mall, making shopping and dining very easy. **First, the positives:** The room was quite spacious, just as shown in the pictures. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided. Slippers and toothbrushes were available (though you had to ask the front desk for them). **Now for the downsides:** **Service:** The female front desk staff's English was very poor, making communication a real challenge. The male front desk staff (who also seemed to be working as a bartender) had an unpleasant attitude. **Facilities:** The pillows were absolutely dreadful! The filling felt like lumpy, hard cotton, making it completely impossible to sleep! **Booking & Room Setup:** When I made the booking, I clearly specified 3 adults + 1 child (9 years old). After checking in and getting to our room, we found that the sofa bed hadn't been made up, but instead, they had provided a baby crib. When we contacted the front desk, their response was that ”their booking information indicated there was a small baby in the group.” Even so, is it reasonable to expect three adults to sleep in one bed? They eventually made up the sofa bed, but only provided a single duvet. When we asked the front desk for another duvet or to swap it for a double one, we were told that housekeeping had already left (it was 6 PM at the time), and they had no idea where the blankets were... **Late Checkout:** When I inquired about a late checkout, the front desk staff pretended to check the booking, typing away on the keyboard, only to then say, ”Sorry, we're fully booked.” However, I quickly checked online myself and saw that the same room type was clearly available on Ctrip... In my opinion, a direct 'no' would have been far better than such a disingenuous charade! **Conclusion:** Based on all of this, I won't be choosing this Mercure hotel again for my next visit.
