Hotels with bar in Riccarton

We were in town just for one night, before taking the morning train to Greymouth, We selected this hotel due to proximity to the station. It was absolutely fine-no issue with the room or amenties or check-in. The lady at reception, who may well have been the owner, could not have been more helpful with advice. She also ran us down to the station in the morning. If you need a hotel near the station, this is a great choice.

We arrived at the hotel around 5pm - busy time on the road, and it is a pretty busy road (though quieted down after rush hour). The hotel is in a residential area,not too far from the Arena, but not any shops/restaurants right nearby. One could walk to these places - about 20 minutes away, but I wouldn't be that keen at night even though the owner said the area was very safe. The owner got us quickly checked in. She didn't offer any milk or give us the wifi like all the other motels we've ever stayed in, but otherwise she was friendly and efficient. Our room (#10) was upstairs, about halfway back. I was a bit worried about the noise (i'm a super light sleeper), but once we were in the room it was quiet. The space is small (we had a queen bed 1bdroom?) and a bit weirdly laid out, but very clean - which was really the most important thing. There was a closet with iron/board/ extra pillows and blankets which is always great, and a tiny fridge for snacks. The bed was clean and comfy, nice and dark too with the curtains closed and door shut. The bathroom was tidy, nice to have small shampoo/conditioner, and the water pressure was spot on. We couldn't find any details in the book about wifi, we ended up going to the office and getting it as I tried calling from the room and it just kept ringing out. Don't know the issue - she was in the office. She said there was a 'white paper with the wifi code written on it' in the room - finally found it in the bedroom. Overall a good, quick 1 night stay.

Husband had checked in here for 10 days due to work in chch, 8 year old and myself joined for 4 nights of this. The room was large and warm, I personally didn’t find it dated as others mentioned. Balcony overlooked car park but not an issue for us. Location is great walking distance to Riccarton mall and a lime scooter ride through hagley park to the city. Points that need improved: The super king beds are 2 mattresses joint together could feel the join in the bed, also for winter only one light blanket and bedspread on the bed needed something more substantial. Pillows could do with replacing as well used or way too hard. Heat pump needed to be on overnight but it was the loudest heat pump I’ve ever heard, I guess though if there was outside noise or banging doors we couldn’t hear it from the heat pump noise so that could be a bonus! Reception is a bit dark and dingy not really 4 star check in and you wonder what your walking into. Overall an ok place to stay and definitely good value for money (we found it really cheap for what it was)

Room was very comfortable and clean. good facilities. TV was amazing. Lots to choose from on it. Microwave for cooking supplied. Fridge also. Washing facilities if required and all Free! Staff were amazing. So very accommodating. Listening to all your needs and running with all your requirements. Very friendly team. Beds are very comfortable. Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The boss is also good. I forgot to take the beer out of the refrigerator when I left. I hope the boss will help me collect it. I will drink it next time I live. Haha! Room 7 Just left today

We couldn't thank Quality Suites and an elderly guest enough. On the morning of check out, our car couldn't start! The staff (sorry I didn't get his name, but it might be Chen) went to different motels along the same street to borrow the jump-start cables for our car. Luckily for us, a guest had a vintage 56 yrs old car with a portable jump-start power bank! We made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The motel is located on a busy street of motels, near to Westfield and restaurants within walking distance. While traffic seems busy and loud on the street, but we could not hear the traffic noise in the room. In fact, i feel safe that we are staying on a main street. Although the walls are thin and I could hear guests coming in/out but it's no big deal. Room is comfortable and clean with look-like new kitchen. Maybe furniture can consider a lighter shade to bring some cosiness to the room. It is perfect place to stay before our morning flight. THANK YOU CHEN!

We have been there 31 st Night up to 3 rd Jan 2022. The hotel staff and owner are very cooperative. They Arranged my late check-in. The family room has all modern facilities. You can see Westfield Riccarton from your window which is just opposite the property. We use public transport. Bus stop, PackNSave, Indian restaurant, MacD all are within 100 meters. Great Experience.

Good enough motel for an evening or two stay. The rooms are decent, they have a microwave and kettle with a selection of some teas and coffee. The rooms also have sky tv with a good range of channels. Very handy if you wish to visit the Riccarton Westfield mall or if you are travelling on the Trans Alpine.

We arrived mid morning after a long flight. There was no room ready, and when I asked about a toilet I was told there were none there and sent on a hike to the middle of the botanic garden! If the rooms were not ready, I could have used a loo! If a room had been cleaned, we could have had it! I was so tired this welcome was not helpful. The room itself was adequate but very tired. You had to fish around for a cable to get the fridge to work, pull it in front of the fridge and plug it in above the work surface. Wouldn’t want to stay here again.
