What a wonderful place to stay! Beautifully restored house filled with gorgeous art, antique furnishings, and books. A perfect location, close to everything we wanted to see and do, and yet quiet and country-feeling. George and Sandra are so kind and generous with their knowledge of the area, they helped make our stay in Rhinebeck truly memorable!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Baker House, including getting to know the warm and welcoming hosts, George and Sandra. Breakfasts were delicious, our room was not just comfortable but also fascinating (the architect's room), and we were a short walk from Rhinebeck's downtown with its shops and restaurants. We recommend highly.

My stay at the The Baker House was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and I have to say that I think any other B&B's that I stay at in the future will have some high expectations to live up to! The innkeepers (and their family) were lovely, provide exceptional cooked breakfasts, happily provided recommendations regarding places to have dinner and taxi services to use in the area, and the room I stayed in (The Architects Room) was very well appointed and very comfortable. The Baker House is also within a very reasonable walking distance of the township and fairgrounds (which was a big plus considering I had traveled to Rhinebeck to attend the NY Sheep & Wool Festival). I can't recommend The Baker House more highly as a place to stay if you're traveling to the area.

This was our third visit to Baker House, and that should tell you all you need to know about the place. George and Sandra, the innkeepers, are warm, friendly people and have always made it a point to make our stays memorable. First and foremost, our room was large, airy, comfortable, and very clean. Everything worked, there was plenty of heat on chilly nights, and the shower is to die for. Breakfasts are also wonderful at Baker House. The food is wholesome, healthy, and freshly prepared right in the kitchen by Sandra herself. She is also, by the way, a terrific baker (not a pun). Her lemon cake was awesome. The couple prides themselves on catering to each guest's dietary needs, and this is always much appreciated by Amy and me. Conversation is always stimulating there, and starting the day out there is always a pleasure. Baker House is just a three or four block stroll from the center of Rhinebeck's action, and the fridge is always stocked with good cold beer and soft drinks. For Amy and me, the Baker House has become our Catskills home away from home, and it should be yours as well.

We enjoyed our stay in the Writer’s Room. It was so spacious and the bathroom was newly renovated. The private covered balcony is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee. The breakfasts were substantial, delicious, and had a good variety. Though we had no dietary restrictions, we noticed there was care taken in consideration for another guest. George was a great source for dining recommendations as well. We could easily walk from the Baker House to dinner each night. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Baker House.

What an amazingly comfortable Inn to stay at. The bedrooms were large with ensuite bathrooms, The beds were comfy as were the chairs in our rooms. The Inn is blocks from downtown Rhinebeck. Innkeepers George and Sandra were both very warm and welcoming hosts. The breakfasts provided each morning by Sandra were extraordinarily delicious and George’s knowledge of the area, including the history of the Inn, was huge.. I will definitely try to stay here again if I’m anywhere near Rhinebeck in future! I can’t recommend Baker House Inn strongly enough!

My husband and I stopped at this lovely spot on our way to the Adirondacks. We are familiar with the Hudson Valley through college friends but have never stayed in Rhinebeck. The George and Sandra were so friendly and easy to talk with, never made us feel out of bounds, and very helpful with recommendations and local information and history. We loved being able to walk to and around the village but also stay just outside where we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We chose the Writers' Room for the private entrance and patio; my husband brought his yoga mat and stretched out as the sun rose in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, the coffee was superb, and we left for our next stop very satisfied, gratified, and happy. We highly recommend Baker House and would go back in a heartbeat.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at The Baker House B&B and we enjoyed our experience. The house is located at the edge of Rhinebeck Village and you can walk, as we did, the one-eighth mile (I'm guessing) into the main part of town. The Baker House has a large parking area such that you can park virtually anywhere you like. While the house itself is from the 1850s or so, the 4 guest rooms were totally modernized. Our room had a queen-sized bed which was very comfortable, a decent size flat screen TV, and featured a modern bathroom with a nice size stall shower. We got to see a second bedroom which was similarly modernized as ours. The Innkeepers were very friendly and accommodating and we got to speak to both husband and wife on several occasions. They are a family of four and live upstairs in the home. The "Breakfast" was prepared by the Wife, served by the Husband and included juice, coffee, fruit cup and the main entree. Both meals were delicious. We came to The Baker House B&B as a result of a gift certificate for a night's stay and extended our visit another day. The billing for our stay was handled correctly without any issues. Sorry, but we have no complaints about our stay and are at a loss to suggest any recommendations on how to improve. We would definitely go back to The Baker House B&B should we visit Rhinebeck again. As a side note, The CIA (Culinary Institute of America) is only a short drive from Rhinebeck. We stopped there after our stay at The Baker House. We would definitely recommend the The Baker House B&B when in the Rhinebeck area.

We throughly enjoyed our stay the The Baker House. We were there for a Marist parents weekend and just love Rhinebeck. The Inn is a short walk to the center of town and all its charming amenities. The location can’t be beat. We stayed in the Writers Room - a very spacious, homey and comfortable room with king bed, huge modern bathroom with double shower, many reading areas and a private spacious deck. It was a peaceful retreat away from the crowds of Poughkeepsie! George is a stimulating conversationalist and Sandra is an excellent chef using fresh herbs from the garden. There was always fresh baked cookies and breads and a beverage center with tea, coffee and other beverages to enjoy. George is currently repainting the exterior and it is going to look amazing when he is finished!
