Recently had my daughters wedding at Fairyhill 30/12/2023 . The whole day was perfect from start to finish . The wedding breakfast was extremely good , the attention to detail and the staff were all 10/10 . Nothing was too much trouble even last minute requests were dealt straight away . The whole experience ran like clock work . We have had some many compliments on the venue and food , with so many saying it’s the best food they had experienced at a wedding . Thank you Fairyhill for providing us with the best day we could have ever asked for 😊

Booked lodge 10 people 8 blankets , heating didn’t work well over priced for the quality of room and space. Next day stayed in the venue No snacks available Site team very reluctant to use the aircon Room had no toilet paper No curtains in room. My advice is to check All small print in paper work and make sure everything is working and intact before settling your suitcases in. Lovely venue but no attention to detail

My sister had her wedding in April 2023 at Fairy Hill. The start of the day was lovely and everything was great. I gave my sister away and I was looked after by Tom Guererro who was really helpful. I was exploring the gardens in the evening and found myself caught up in a sewage leak on Fairy Hill's grounds. I had an amazing day, however, this was an unexpected surprise. The open manhole and sewage spill were easily accessible and it's a location where I would expect children to play and explore. It was dark in the evening and I found myself caught up in a slippery sludge with a horrific smell. I turned on my flashlight and I was caught up in a beautiful mustard sludge which I can assure you wasn't mud and was pouring out of the open manhole. It might seem like I found the sewage issue and that I am trying to make a false claim of being caught up in it. The sewage seeped into my shoes which has been a challenge to clean fully. Yellow sewage seeps from my shoes when I squeeze hard enough. I also got sewage on my hands and it stained my suit. My stomach health hasn't been great since the incident however the close exposure to the sewage and health issues may be a correlation and not causation. I messaged Fairy Hill to warn them about the dangers of having exposed manholes and sewage on their grounds. Hannah Jones the Venue Manager called me shortly. She asked if I was ok and told me they had found the issue and had sorted it. She told me I wasn't meant to go off the path which seemed like a joke. I wasn't aware that guests were restricted to the path because the wedding photos were taken off the path and I couldn't see any signs warning of sewage leaks off the path. Hannah told me to write about my situation in an email which I did. I was ignored for a month and sent 3 emails chasing them. She eventually emailed me a month later saying she'd been informed that I wish to speak to management. It seemed like she brushed me off and then responded like she was ignorant of my situation. I informed her a month before that I'd like to speak with someone. Someone from the management team called me twice however I wasn't available. I emailed Hannah to ask the management to try and call me again. My email was ignored. The day was amazing however the treatment from Fairy Hill after they'd received the payment was appalling. I've never written a complaint before however I thought this situation would be a good one to start with. I'd recommend the fish. I'd avoid their mud baths...

We got married in Fairyhill in December 2022, and it completely exceeded all of our expectations for a magical winter wedding! With a special shout-out to Alex, Sophie, Hannah, and Tom, who went over and above to ensure that our day was perfect, all of the staff were incredible and looked after our guests with the closest attention to detail. We didn't have to worry for a second about anything as they gave us full confidence that everything was in hand. All we had to do was sit back and enjoy! It really was a dream. Every single aspect of the day was phenomenal - the winter decor was magical, the service was incomparable, and the food was out of this world. Chris is the most talented cook and each and every dish was impeccable. We also had such a fabulous time staying at the Forge the night before - it was such a magical location where we loved preparing for the big day. We really can't praise the staff enough. I was so grateful for how kind and patient Alex was, particularly in the morning when I was very nervous to walk down the aisle and see everyone there! He was so accommodating and we had such a good laugh that I forgot about my nerves and just enjoyed the moment. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff on the day and everyone went way above the call of duty - looking after our fur wraps, finding safety pins when my hoop fell down (!), expertly bundling up my huge dress on the golf trolley, looking after my Dad's speech... I could go on and on! Breakfast the next morning was fabulous too - the food was superb and the service faultless again. It's hard to know where to stop - Fairyhill has given us memories to last a lifetime, and it was the most wonderful start to marriage that we could ever have asked for. Suffice to say, we would recommend Fairyhill a thousand times over to anyone and wish that we could do it all over again!

My wife and I attended a wedding at Fairy hill, the venue and food were excellent to be fair, however, I felt badly let down as the place was freezing cold, despite asking for the heating to be turned on. They leave the doors open and it blows through like a wind tunnel. Some of the guests including my mother ate the meal with their coats on which really is unacceptable. To cap it all the room we had also had faulty heating and a blocked toilet. I complained and heard nothing from the venue manager and still haven’t, I did however get a response from the head office who claimed the manager would be in touch. After a few weeks of waiting I complained again and was told the manager was on annual leave ???. We paid £152 for the nights stay and was eventually given £50 back as a gesture of goodwill which personally, I don’t think comes close to what we should have had for the inconvenience. Both the day and night was ruined. I would not return to this venue and strongly advise anyone thinking of booking to think twice.

My Sister had her wedding here and it was just exceptional! Everything, the staff were amazing, the location is absolutely stunning, there was a room with a fireplace which was nice and toasty, but the dining hall/dance area was cooler which again was exactly what you want. The food was next level and such a smooth time efficient service. I could try and pick faults but even if I did I don't think I could find any! A highlight for me though was the staff, because the service felt really personal and warm.

Came back together from the most beautiful wedding at Fairyhill and it was just perfect!! The most beautiful venue and staff who couldn’t do anymore to make the day as special as possible. From the moment you arrived until the moment you left, staff were there to ensure you had the best experience. It was so laid back and chilled but also perfectly executed with timings and plans that it all felt effortless. The food was beautiful and the service wa wonderful too. There was one person who was overseeing the meal, speeches etc and he was absolutely superb. As well as ensuring guests had the best experience, he was checking on the bride and groom, bride’s father and the best man ahead of the speeches too. He was so good with encouraging the best man and checking he was ok, with words of support. I wish I knew his name as he was superb. I think it was the little touches like that made it so special. Hand down this is the best wedding I have ever been to and I can’t wait to see the photographs. We stayed in their accommodation and that was superb also. On Friday night we stayed in Mulberry house, which is a beautiful property with hot tub and stunning accommodation! We had such a wonderful evening. Last night we stayed in the Coach House which had a log fire and ample accommodation for us all. Having breakfast together this morning was also really lovely. I just wish it was not all over, wish we could do it all over again!

Similar experience to previous review, clearly the company is run by people who do everything off the cuff and have absolutely no idea about consumer rights or the law. They’ll get caught out soon enough for trying to rob people blind for deposits they aren’t entitled to keep because basic contract law says you can’t profit from selling a contract twice and if you have sufficient notice you have to refund. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

When we booked our wedding with Fairyhill we were sold the dream however we quickly realised that unfortunately it’s a case of being on a conveyor belt of weddings, which lacks personal touch, care and attention. This was made apparent to us when our wedding was booked on a date that wasn’t actually available, this meant we had to contact all suppliers to re arrange and also notify all guests of a new date. Eventually we decided to cancel our wedding with over 1 years notice which meant we were entitled to everything we had paid back minus a £2k cancellation fee, this was clearly stated in their Terms and conditions. Despite this, wedding planner Greg informed us they would be keeping all of the money we had paid. We challenged this by highlighting their own t&c’s, sending numerous emails and making many phone calls only to be told every time that Greg or Rachel were in meetings and a message would be passed to them to call us back. We never got called back and our emails also remained unanswered. This went on for several weeks. Eventually we sought advice from trading standards and the citizens advice bureau who informed us Fairyhill were in breach of their contract and we were entitled to a full refund, they helped us write a formal letter detailing this. We sent this to Greg and the Fairyhill team on the 4th of July 2022 and within an hour Greg was phoning us apologising and advising we would receive a refund within 30-60 days. Fast forward 60+ days and we still hadn’t received our refund. We sent an email to them which remained unanswered so yet again we had to contact the citizens advice bureau. The citizens advice bureau told us that we should now take Fairyhill to court and again helped us write a formal letter, I sent this letter yesterday and today received our refund minus the £2k cancellation fee. For such a well established, expensive and popular wedding company to treat us this way shows the regard they have for people, all they really seem to care about is making money. Our money was a drop in the ocean to them but still they made it very difficult for us. There was no thought for our circumstances or of how the stress of being continuously ignored would have affected us, and me as I was heavily pregnant at the time. I’m sharing this review to make others aware of how we were treated and to hopefully prevent anyone else from experiencing anything similar.
