Garden Hotel Rennes Centre Gare

This little hotel is just off the main street linking the downtown area to the train station, a very practical place for tourists wishing to visit the historical area while being close to the station. My room was on the 3rd floor, at the back, and therefore very quiet. It was a tad small but clean, with 2 single beds, bathroom with shower and usual toiletries (nothing fancy but adequate), t.v. and good wi-fi. Decoration was simple but nice. Breakfast was offered for an extra but I did not try it (I bought what I needed from the little grocery store on the next corner). The little garden was open to all and was a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine (the hotel sells a few items like wine by the glass). In its category, this hotel offers a good value for the price. Everything was clean and the service was good. The small elevator was appreciated.

This is a charming hotel a few minutes from the railway station and a short walk from the airport bus (C6, get off at the Musée des Beaux-Arts stop). My room was cosy, had everything I needed and was an excellent price. There is a courtyard garden next to the breakfast room which was full of birdsong. Very welcome after a long, wet winter. Five stars, for value for money alone.

I stayed for 4 days. I and my friend spend on good time. Because this hotel was really nice. Near the central station and old city. And staffs were so friendly and kind. They speak English, it helps us for conversation.

The staff were very helpful. Hotel was in a great position for the train station and for access to restaurants and the historical part of Rennes. I enjoyed the garden theme. Very good value for money.

We stayed here for three nights after arriving in Paris, travelling directly from Charles de Gaulle airport by train (TGV). Getting to the hotel was straightforward. From the train station, cross Place de la Gare and then walk straight along Avenue Jean Janvier. The hotel is easily spotted once the junction with Rue Jean Marie Duhamel is reached (avoid Google maps and Apple maps; they gave less direct routes and different to each other). The hotel room was on the small side (for which we were prepared) but it was not an issue; the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was also good. There is a nice courtyard which guests may use as well. The staff were helpful and friendly, with particular thanks to one receptionist who was on duty for most of our stay. The location of the hotel was convenient for both the station and the city centre. We had a couple of good meals at L’Épe de Blé, across from Place de la Gare. If we to visit Rennes again, we would certainly use this hotel.

I had a very comfortable stay at the hotel. The staff was very accommodating about getting my bicycle inside and setup in their interior courtyard. My ebike was safely secured there overnightand covered to keep the rain off.

Good central location - good restaurants etc within easy walking distance, staff very friendly. Buffet breakfast had a nice selection of food. Advise booking parking in advance and it is an extra cost.
