Scandi Divers

My husband and I were part of a dive group of 20 divers . Scandi Dive Resort was very capable of handling the needs of all of us. The dive shop was top notch with very qualified dive masters and boat/equipment helpers. Everything runs like clockwork to ensure all of a great diving experience. The food is very good and the staff are there to cater to every need. Amazing how the staff knows the name of every guest by the end of the first day. The massages at the spa are not to be missed! My husband celebrated his 91st birthday here and dove every day. They made him king of the island for a day complete with a pig roast dinner and fire dancers! Our whole vacation there was wonderful and memorable! Thank you, Scandi Dive Resort!

Spectacular diving with fun, knowledgeable dive masters and staff. Breathtaking views. Clean and comfortable rooms. Delicious freshly made food and desserts. Friendly staff all work tirelessly to ensure a great experience.

Scandi Divers exceeded my expectations in every way. From the transport from Manila and back, to the food (delicious and abundant) to the rooms (so comfortable), we were pampered. But diving is the reason for the trip. The diving was outstanding. Every dive had healthy coral reef, tons of fishes, abundant nudibranchs, etc. Our dive guide, Rey, was the best. He looked after us continually but gave us room to dive how we liked. We were with a great group that enjoyed taking our time and seeing all that we could see on each dive. Rey spotted interesting things about once every minute or two. The boats are safe and comfortable. The dive shop took care of everything from setting up our gear to loading the boats. We had a few equipment malfunctions, and they were able to fix things and get us on our way. The rooms were clean, comfortable and air conditioned. We used the spa many times while we were there (really, great massages for less than $15?). We loved diving with new friends from Paragon Divers in Tucson. I can’t recommend these guys high enough. My favorite day was diving at Verde Island. You will never see more fish and healthier corals. Ron

The whole set up was excellent. The dive centre was really well organised, the staff were absolutely brilliant. they were extremely helpful with sorting out your kit, washing kit, carrying it to and from the boat, helping to get wet wetsuits on and off, drying kit, just brilliant. Our dive guide was very knowledgeable about both the sites and especially the life. The restaurant staff were excellent as were the reception and housekeeping staff. Plus the food was superb and plentiful. High points of the diving were the coral reefs and small life. We had one sighting of a Thresher shark during one dive but otherwise you don't see big stuff. The wrecks are small but covered in life. All in all this is a great dive location to visit. Safe diving practices were obvious all round.

A group of six of us went at the beginning of March. It would be hard to criticise Scandi Divers. The staff are friendly, dedicated and very efficient, both in the dive centre itself and at the restaurant/accomodation. The food is amazing, and there is a always a good selection on the menu. I can`t really add much more that that. In 25 years of diving in many parts of the world, this is by far the best run dive centre I have ever had the pleasure to deal with

About me: 22 years old, female, from the UK. Went for the PadiOpen Water Scuba Diving Course. Felt safe and really fun with a friendly instructor (Rey). I absolutely loved it and would recommend. I had never tried scuba diving before this. I would go back. They gave us starter drinks and water bottles when we arrived. (I went with family). The service is very good. Everyone is really friendly. Had a room that looked onto the beach and could hear the waves which was nice.

I went in 2019, and was more impressed. Don't know if I changed or the resort changed. I know Luke, the former manager, is now managing a resort he owns in Sabang. I had a room near the pool and the wifi took 5 minutes to connect each time. Maybe my standards changed as the room was similar to what I had before, but I did not like it as much. The instructor Rey is excellent. I did a refresher course in the pool and he taught me well. I learned never to dive without my equipment, which I left at home as I dove 4 of 19 days in Asia and did not lug my gear bag to 8 different cities. Romelle was my dive master, excellent. He was patient with me as I had some trouble getting used to their gear: weight belt vs. my integrated bcd, my fins are spring loaded vs. having to unbuckle theirs to get off. I should have brought at least my mouthpiece, as I have an underbite and cross bite so I was getting jaw fatigue, which is on me. The support staff are great: the front desk greeted me upon arrival using my name before I checked in and every contact with any staff, they always greeted me and used my name. The front desk arranged for transportation from Big Lalaguna to Batangas. German works in the dive area and was great. He helped me put on my booties, my 5 mm wetsuit and generally made sure that I was ready to go to the boat. He puts the tank on the bcd, hooks up the lines, and brings the bcd, the fins, and mask to the boat, even before you board. You bring yourself, carrying only your dive computer on your wrist. My biggest disappointment was the kitchen and the food. The kitchen staff/bartender was unattentive and the food was only so-so. I ordered fried shrimp today and got a cooked shrimp, but I had to peel it, which I hate. The onion rings were soft and no spices. The hashbrowns with breakfast was a hard hockey puck. This is a little thing, but they serve bread at breakfast, not toast on the Americana breakfast. Next store to Scandi is La Laguna Beach Club. Their food is better, cheaper, and more food. The staff is very attentive and have great personalities. LaLaguna Beach Club's menu was 20 pages, not the 10 at Scandi and the food was more inspired, like Scandi had a cook, but LaLaguna Beach Club had a chef. Maybe I nit pick, but LaLaguna Beach Club served toast with their breakfast, ketchup with their "normal" hash browns, had nicer silverware, and salt and pepper shakers, and already had extra napkins on the table, wehreas at Scandi, i had to ask for additional napkins. The dining alone would make me consider LaLaguna Beach Club. I probably won't go back to Puerto Glara again and try an other islend in the Phillipines for my next trip.

We spent 6 days with Scandi divers in Puerto Galeria Phillipines. We were greeted with water bottles, lunch and an excellent briefing of our week. The rooms were clean, the views of the ocean was perfect, the food was beyond fabulous and we he customer service was the best I have ever experienced in my entire life. Staff was friendly, efficient, compassionate, witty, and very knowledgeable on the history of the area. The diving was perfect and the dive masters and guides Larry and Mike were amazing.
