Had booked online which was a very easy process. Table for 5 ready on arrival, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was very good, everyone enjoyed the meal and deserts. The place was very busy yet the staff were very attentive and served tables without any problems. Good parking great atmosphere, well worth a visit.

Lovely meet up with family at this traditional old pub. The food was delicious both evening meal and breakfast. The rooms where traditional and very comfortable. All the staff made our stay perfect they were so friendly, we had good service with a smile. We will definitely return for another catch-up very soon.

Sadly the Sunday lunch did not meet expectations. We expected a better experience based on reviews. We had anticipated that a 13:30 booking would mean that the food would be fresh and recently cooked. Given the almost empty pub & the quality of the food I guess that they eat earlier. The pork was dry, the roast potatoes & parsnips were not crisp or tasty and the Yorkshire puds (which you pay extra for) were soft & tasteless. Two of us had nut roast which I suspect was not prepared on site but commercially produced, sadly this also disappointed. The waiting staff were lovely but the ‘manageress’ who came to talk about our ‘disappointment’ was a little defensive & did not really deal with things in a mutually satisfactory way. We travelled quite a distance due to positive reviews but we will not return.

We've stayed at the Carpenters Arms a couple of times now and it always surpasses our expectations. The food is to die for, the decor is exquisite and the staff, well I say staff but more like friends now. So helpful, professional and considerate. If we could give it 20 ⭐️s we would. Its not the cheapest but in this instance you really do get what you pay for and more besides. Needless to say we're booked up for another visit

If we could rate this lovely pub/hotel higher than 5 we would have. The food was fantastic, beautifully presented and piping hot. The staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble The whole hotel was spotless, the rooms and communal areas were very clean and looked freshly decorated. Tea and coffee facilities available in the rooms and thought given to very high temperatures with tiny milk bottles kept in an ice bucket on the landing I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Thankyou.

We stayed here overnight while visiting Bath and Stonehenge. It's a lovely place tucked away from the main roads. Ample parking, friendly staff, comfortable room, and excellent dinner and breakfast make this a perfect place to pass an evening. The view from the parking lot across the fields and hills was just marvelous. Highly recommended!
