Red & Blue Design Hotel Prague

Prague|0.29km from Vyhlídková terasa (Vyhlídka)
Great hotel in a lovely quiet area, 15 minutes to the old town/bridge by tram. Had a room on the 4th floor which was clean and light, beds comfortable and fantastic shower. Check in at reception was easy and they were helpful in giving you all the info you need for your stay. They will also help with any trips or sightseeing. Our room was cleaned every day but if this doesn't happen, just ask at reception. Great continental breakfast with good choice of rolls, cheeses, hams, eggs, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, pastries etc. and plenty of coffee. The public transport system is subsidized by the Czech government so over 65s are free and 60-65s tram/bus tickets are half the price. Their bus/tram system is brilliant and the best way to see Prague so using Google Maps (which is a godsend) you can go to all the sights by tram/bus. I bought 3 day tickets from the yellow machines at the airport and each day you use one, just validate it at the tram/bus stop or on the tram/bus and it stamps it for 24 hours use, just keep your passport with you to confirm your age (we never saw any inspectors). As I'm 60 it cost me 180 Czech krona (£6.50) for 3 days travel. We also used public transport from and to the airport and although it took 50 minutes, it saved us a fortune (taxis can be anything between £30-£40.00). The tram stop is round the corner at the bottom of the hill from the hotel. We could leave our bags at the hotel after we checked out so we went to the lovely park across the road for a couple of hours. If you want a lovely meal and great beer, we found a little gem called the Beer Spot which is 6 minutes walk from the hotel. There's a lovely shopping mall about 5 minutes walk Nový Smíchov Shopping Centre, which has all the brands you could want and a Tescos. Would definitely use this hotel for Prague again.

Lesser Town Prague|0.29km from Vyhlídková terasa (Vyhlídka)
The pictures and reviews do not match up at all, the standard of my stay with my friend was nowhere near 4 star worthy! The room / apartment in itself was unclean, there was hair from previous stays all over the floor, probably been there for ages and the floor in general was very dirty. Unable to walk around barefoot as able to feel the dirt sticking to feet. Towels were AWFUL! Worst towels I have ever seen for a stay, well in need of replacement. Smelt musty and had holes in??? Absolutely shocking. Unsure what housekeeping do apart from change towels on the floor in the bathroom. Extractor fan in the bathroom did not work. Safe was out of order for the entire duration of our stay and we were advised that all safes in the building were out of order - really not ideal. Wifi may as well of been non-existent as it literally only worked for about a minute a day, very poor. No iron or ironing facilities available in the room. The rooms have very thin walls, can hear the people in the room next to you and upstairs, woke up on a couple of nights from sleeping due to other guests being extremely loud in the corridor for quite a prolonged period of time. There are no staff on site to monitor this, therefore very disruptive and disrespectful behaviour from other guests which is not dealt with by anyone. Only good thing I can say about this place is the location, easily a 10-15 minute walk to Charles Bridge and easy access to a number of amenities. Prague is a beautiful city and I will definitely return, however I would definitely not return to this place to stay and would advise others to spend your money elsewhere. If you do decide to stay… bring your own toiletries unless you want to use 3 in 1 hair, body and hand wash…

Stayed here for 5 nights and location could not have been better right opposite tram stop. Room was good, quite large the only thing I didn’t like was the shower was above the bath whereas I would have preferred a walk in (personal preference) Air conditioning was very good. The thing I thought strange was only 2 tea bags and no coffee, when asked first time at reception was told they didn’t have any, second time of asking different person got housekeeping to deliver some. Breakfast was plentiful the hot option could of been hotter! Great coffee and pastries. Very friendly bar man called Raphael, good service at the bar.

From Prague Airport, follow the signs to the bus 100, get on the bus for 90 minutes, get off at Zlicin, change to the subway B yellow line, start Zlicin station, press the button to open the car, 9 stops, Andel station button to open the door Get off, change to the 12 and 20 trams, get off at 2 stops, get off at Ujezd and stay at the Hotel Atos on the corner. Adjacent to the Betlin Hill, you can walk or take the cable car up the mountain, not enough to play at one time. The breakfast was good and the basement restaurant felt a little cave. Old-fashioned elevator, press 1 is the 2nd floor. Quiet in the middle of noisy, double glazed windows are very good. Maybe there is no air conditioning in Europe. A desktop electric fan keeps turning for a moment. I don't know how summer is? You can take the 22-way tram on the Castle Square and watch my travels on the cypress.
