The hotel is very well kept- big room, great service. Amazing view and private beaches. The location is strategic you are walk distance from major spot. Just down few steps and you are at the Marina. Restaurant is very good quality and service is top - we like to thank Antonio the amazing hospitality and experience we have during dinner time - lunch was served at terrazzo above the marina. Next time in Porto Rotondo Hotel sporting is our choice, hope to have Antonio to greeting at entrance!!

The Hotel Sporting is an absolute gem. Located on the more quiet Porto Rotondo side of Sardinia (vs the more busy and active Porto Cervo side), this hotel is a beautiful serene Italian get away. The beach is magnificent. The restaurant is great. The service is wonderful. The hotel helped us so much with our lost baggage and were flexible with additional nights because of our flight cancellations. Valentina at the front desk was so thoughtful and kind. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel located on one side of the port wIth magnificent views over both the port and sea. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold food, with eggs made to order. We ate one night in the main restaurant and the food was fantastic, the desserts though were incredible. The icing on the cake were the staff, who were all incredibly helpful and caring. Our particular thanks goes to David who couldn’t have done more to make our trip a memorable one. An overall excellent experience. Thank you.

From the decor, amenities , location and to the staff, this hotel was just incredible. We travel a lot and this was one of the most charming hotels we have been in. The staff were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. The location is perfect and in walking distance to some lovely restaurants and beaches. Everything with this hotel has been thought out for your luxury.

A good team of hard working ladies kept the place clean. Beach however had a rather co**** sand pebbles and rocks mixed with vegetal debris in parts of it. Water was far from a blue flag since hundreds of boats, some of them absurdly huge, steamed in and out eventually anchoring in front of the hotel to entertain clients. 2 nights we had probably drunken yachtpeople karaoke until 1am as they were anchored near us.
The place is pricey and probably posh. I am not sure. There were two pools. One they keep cleaning but nobody used and the other not serviced but people wanted to use…
Communication with people was often difficult despite goodwill ( mine and usually theirs).
I paid a higher tariff for the option “pay at the property” I paid a big upfront, 4 days accommodation value just after entering the hotel and the rest by transfer. For few minutes the reception guy wanted to keep me in the reception until he receives bank confirmation. Eventually he allowed me to go to room, take shower and cover the rest of the stay by bank transfer.
It was a bad start. I asked for a proforma. Impossible… for obscure reasons. Massimo was the nice waiter. Most of them were like that but two grumpy guys were in the team too.
In my humble opinion Spa, Coffee machine, gym are required for 5 stars. Most of these were not there or I was not made aware that thy really exist and work.
The restaurant building is beautiful in an original rustic style.
The food choice is rather narrow.

This is a lovely hotel, unlike many 5* hotels today. The hotel is clearly from the 60/70s so rooms a bit smaller than you would expect, but a lot of charm - almost Southern California Spanish colonial, great service. You don't care much about the smaller rooms as expansive views of the sea with nice terraces in front of each sea view room. Great service, old style, not in your face but there when you need it. Very relaxing for a short stop on the island.

This resort is legendary and is localed in one of the nicest places in the Costa Smeralda. The sea view is stunning, from the bedrooms you can overlook Portisco, the Porto Cervo area, Cugnana and the Mortorio island. There are two beaches which are relatively small but very nice. The centre of Porto Rotondo is in walking distance. The hotel personnel is very kind and competent. The Chef is the best I have ever known (I travel a lot and have stayed in many luxory hotels), he definetely deserves a star and I am pretty sure I will obtain it soon. Guest wishes are accomodated within a few minutes, fastest reaction I have ever seen in a hotel. We had a room directly in front of the beach, 15 meters from the water with a beautiful view. You can go to the balcony and after a few meters you are on the beach. On the right side of the hotel the rooms are rather old and need refurbishment; however, the owners are renovating the resort, the left side is almost finished and looks great. There are two swimming pools, one of which is new and directly in front of the sea. We truly enjoyed the time at this resort!

pleasant stay, nothing more! the hotel is not worth 4 * ' but at most 3 * !!! pool club not nickel, dirty showers, and must act quickly to get a deckchair! 2nd swimming pool called "calm" a little far away; (we did not use it) beach 400m away very good, but deckchairs a little on top of each other, but good ..... very decent restaurant, the fish can be improved; hard and day-old bread at certain meals; Great pasta and pizza!!! overall decent choice of dishes; on the other hand, all inclusive at the ridiculous bar: "very light" cocktails and no choice in kitchen glass or plastic, otherwise you have to pay and infamous coffee (otherwise €1.50) and closes at 11 p.m. !!!! unworthy of a 4*!!!! no WIFI in the rooms and no loan of pool/beach towel! (a shame for a 4 *) rooms 14 m2 but clean and well equipped (postage stamp TV) entertainment lookea super, 10/10 !!!
